Not denying the talent but they've clearly put reverb on Bono's voice. And polished the performance in post-production
many dont people realize how much Edge has contributed vocally to several of their songs. he has an exceptional voice

The older I’ve gotten, the more I realize how delusional people’s opinions are when it comes to the best band in the world. All kidding aside, I’ve been a mega fan of these guys since the first time I ever heard Bad on the radio in 1984. So I am approaching this from the perspective of someone who loves these guys. But to say they are undeniably the best player in the world is absurd.
I love the look in Bono’s face around 5 minutes when he realizes they’re killing it.

I love how Paul subtly comes in with that soulful B3 sound about 2/3rds of the way through and it is hardly noticeable yet adds so much at the same time.

Imagine being in the audience that night. What an absolute treat.
How amazing! Bono & The Edge just singing with an acoustic guitar. " My oh My what the world is missing now"!
I have been following them since their first album came out when I was in high school. And to this day they are one of my all time favourite bands. My wife and I have seen them in concert a couple of times and what a treat that was. But when we visited New York, we were lucky enough to get into the studio audience for that day's taping of Letterman, and were thrilled to see that these two greats were on the guest list to be on the show....but when they surprisingly decided to do this song while sitting there, brought tears to our eyes and still does. This was one of the best musical experiences we ever have had.
Magical. One of many stunning musical moments on the show.
I grew up on U2, from the early 80's to today...this is great music and real talent. I think talent like this is a long way way from what people 50 years from now, will be able to refer to as their early influences. Music is so much more about image these days, that musical talent seems to take a distant back seat, and I only see that worsening.....many of the great bands of yesterday wouldn't get a chance today
The best rock band in the world 🌎 ❤️ U2

@@MedalionDS9 Yeah, that’s basically what I mean. Bono has been belting out songs for two hours at a time, 100-200 shows per tour for decades…it takes a major toll on the vocal cords, especially at his age. Plus he drinks and smokes on and off…that’s horrible for a singer. It’s amazing he still sounds as good as he does these days.

I'm not afraid Of anything in this world There's nothing you can throw at me That I haven't already heard I'm just trying to find A decent melody A song that I can sing In my own company I never thought you were a fool But darling, look at you (Ooh) You gotta stand up straight, carry your own weight These tears are going nowhere baby You've got to get yourself together You've got stuck in a moment And now you can't get out of it Don't say that later will be better Now you're stuck in a moment And you can't get out of it I will not forsake The colors that you bring The nights you filled with fireworks They left you with nothing I am still enchanted By the light you brought to me I listen through your ears Through your eyes I can see You are such a fool To worry like you do. Oh I know it's tough And you can never get enough Of what you don't really need now My, oh my You've got to get yourself together You've got stuck in a moment And you can't get out of it Oh love, look at you now You've got yourself stuck in a moment And you can't get out of it I was unconscious, half asleep The water is warm 'til you discover how deep I wasn't jumping, for me it was a fall It's a long way down, to nothing at all You've got to get yourself together You've got stuck in a moment And you can't get out of it Don't say that later will be better Now you're stuck in a moment And you can't get out of it And if the night runs over And if the day won't last And if your way should falter Along the stony paths And if, and if the night runs over And if, the day won't last And if your way should falter Along this stony paths It's just a moment This time will pass

That's a Gibson SJ-200 Pete Townshend Signature, handmade in Bozeman, Montana. Gibson’s Pete Townshend SJ-200 Signature Artist Series guitar is a painstaking recreation of the 1960s acoustic he used to compose such classic hits as “Pinball Wizard” from the legendary 1969 rock opera Tommy, and the Who concert staple “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” This new version-which Townshend uses regularly on stage-has many of the same features as his vintage J-200, but with several modern appointments.

@@brettneuberger6466 I am sorta used to Bono's eccentric performance live where he will change the structure of a performance to not fit exactly how the song is on the album... because people get bored of the same exact thing over and over and over... and by this time, even a song from the 2000's is now oldhat to them, let alone their hits from the 80's

I love this song - I think that most of all of us could relate to it at some time. I think the emotion in Bono's voice was genuine. I remember Jimmy Carr as a guest on a podcast talking (respectfully and not as part of any gag) about the subject of someone passing in such a way. (In general he - wasn't talking about Micheal Hutchence). Jimmy made the comment "A permanent solution to a temporary problem". This might not always be the case but I think I could hear this frustration and anger in the song.
Pure magic❤❤❤❤❤
