Hey Jake! As a gymnast I wanted to say thank you for all the great workout/nutrition tips, they're all super helpful. I love all your videos and I don't know about anybody else, but I especially enjoy the ones where you and other Olympians like Sam and John are just hanging out and talking. Keep up the hard work!

Jake- Awesome channel. I quit lifting weights 3 years ago to go just bodyweight training, so glad to see an inside peek on real-life gymnast bodyweight training mixed with external weight training from collegiate / world-class gymnasts. Very interesting; instant street cred.

Hey Jake thanks for another awesome video. First off, more Legendre in videos would be cool haha. Second, you are super gifted in a lot of areas with fitness so really more videos of calisthenics, weighted calisthenics, weight training, and definitely gymnastic specific training would be awesome! Just a thought but I think focusing on carving out your own niche with your fitness videos would be cool too. You have such a great advantage with your gymnastics background. There are a lot of adults who do the regular 9:00-5:00 (myself included) getting back into gymnastics for their fitness training in their off time. There definitely is an adult audience there wanting more gymnastics videos :) Ex. Gymnasticsbodies.com is a great example of great guides... but they do not really have much of a youtube presence at all. Just super short videos. Keep up the good work.

I love back rows and deadlifts, but when it comes to pulling-up movements, I’m a complete lightweight (like embarrassingly bad)! I’m going to incorporate this bodyweight, pull-up training in my back workouts to see if I can build more strength and stamina that way. Thanks for the awesome vid Jake! Looking forward to more!

Do you do bodyweight/resistance/strengthening workouts on the same days that you practice the gymnastic moves & routines? If so, do you do them before or after? If not, which days or how often?

The last time I did pull ups, I strained my neck muscles... :'). I'm not on that level yet. Are there any exercises for women to do via bodyweight in order to gain the build of a gymnast? I'm already built like one, I just need to get lean & gain a bit of muscle. I eat right, I just don't know which exercises to do. I love push-ups, my body responds best when doing exercises that require your own bodyweight. No other weight training can firm my triceps up like it. I do martial arts, so I feel like this can contribute a lot to it. My dad owns a gym, so I won't have any trouble accessing any equipment needed. I would appreciate if you could guide the ladies in the right direction here. Hope you have some good advice! I trust you won't disappoint. :) - Tarry*

Was wondering why gymnasts don't use weighted pull-up variations to build strength? Doing pull-ups / chin-ups with just body weight will only get you so far...unless you are doing sets of 15+. I'm Asian and have been doing pull-ups for 20+ years. I can't get my lats to grow and my strength has really been stagnant until I discovered the wonderful world of weighted resistance training using a dip belt. I'm talking about weighted dips and weighted pull-ups. BTW, I would rather look like a gymnast than a bodybuilder any day. The low body fat / lean look coupled with massive muscle mass is a good look. Jake, do you eat a high protein and low card diet?

Have you thought of getting into bodybuilding, at least as far as training is concerned? It looks like it would be easy for you to put on more size, and your physique is already proof to younger guys it's possible to build muscle naturally, without drugs. Lately, it seems more bodybuilders are using gymnastics in their training, particularly the rings.

I have thought about this. It would be very cool. I am actually getting into the fitness industry now. Not sure about competing. But teaching others skills more for crossfit guys on gymnastics skills.
