i wish we got them diesels here in the US along with the gas engines we already get...be cool to have those options...they'd be really good at the long trips you can take here...

So an X7 needs 400hp to do exactly what my 530d g30 does with 250hp. Not hating! Love all the suv thing. Just pointing out how less efficient can be two different cars with different weight and aero.

You are right. But after SUV driving a sedan is simply impossible. That feeling... sitting on the ground looking at asses... Also, in such countries like Ukraine driving SUV is a must

Mad, all I can say!

I drove the X5 with the same engine and it was pretty awesome. The low rev power is impressive for such a large vehicle and the drive and breaking were spot on. Economy good too. Such a shame that certain groups of people think the diesel engine is an environmental issue. I think it's probably better than the alternatives.

Auto,motor und sport magazine together with the Emission analythics from the UK have measured real-life emissions of the new Mercedes,VW-group ,BMW and some other manufacturers diesel engines and they were all way below the euro-6 norm,basicaly the exhaust air was cleaner than the surrounding air minus the oxygen. And diesel engines produce less co2 than the gasoline ones,we all know that. So the decision to kill the diesel is purely political,not based on any logic,same as all of the current politics.

Oh boy, I have this engine in my X5 and I must say it is really unbelievable. 170 km/h seems to feel like 100 km/h. You just put your foot on the pedal and it immediately f*cks off :P I wish the left lane on the highway was empty all the time haha

My neighbours Audi A6 Competition, a 3.0 Bi-TDI with 326hp (346hp in overboost) and 650nm of torque. 0-100 in 5.1 seconds. Although I think he said it was chipped to 370hp and 710nm in the first 3 gears or so.

Don’t Chip-Tune BMWs anymore (especially after year 2020)! It’s instantly recognized by the cars board computers and sent to BMW. You will lose warranty!

For me it makes more sense this engine instead of a twin turbo petrol with 600hp, for a car that isn't meant for track. In Germany without speed limits this car actually makes sense; you can go from a point A to a point B relatively in short time, in confort and carrying whatever you want

@Hermann Froh But why would you need 400+ horsepower in a diesel? You’re just gonna get the same fuel economy as a petrol. My dad has an X5 M50d, and he drove from Coventry to Reading. He averaged 11.3l/100km.

Yes, they should’ve made and put a twin turbo 4.4 V8 Diesel with similar power for all 50d cars. (M550d, X5M50d, etc.)

Probably around 9 liters / 100 km.

(no speed limit) nein yes speed limit 260kmh limited. If there was no speed limit it would have done 300 kmh.

Good one. But i stay with my A8 4.2TDI 2013. First, it‘s a V8 Diesel!, Second, it‘s faster 0-100 and Top Speed. 3.Lower Consumption But, the BMW is not a bad Car.. Interieur is beauiful, exterior is not that Great in my opinion.

Comparing heavy SUV to luxury sedan... not good 😁 I'd choose 750d in this case. But it's a matter of taste, tbh. I loved D4 with same engine. But after D4 all Audis look like cheap chinese cars for me (inside and outside).
