I agree, the X5 is a disgrace.

I find it sad that you could overlook the E 39 5 series of cars which were probably the most well built cars they ever produced 😀

No, if you actually owned one would realize the plastics just crumble. Not well built. Used vacuum hose off 1969 Chevrolet to patch up hose from 2001 bmw.

@@dukeallen432 I has a 528i M Sport, manual, sedan, over 15 years now and the build quality its epic now days also. Never ever left there on the road. Of course its cost money but if u care this modell its very reliable.

One of the nicest yes. Well built certainly not. Usual unacceptable 90s bmw issues which would appear at low age and mileage like the usual suspension arms, cooling system, rust, rattly interior trim, rocker cover and oil filter housing gaskets and so on. Mainly same issues as E46, E38. I love them to bits but they were far from trouble free even when new. I seem to remember the E34 and E36 being largely trouble free

... I'm missing the M1 !

My favorite BMW of all time is the E46 GTR with the 4.4L V8.

Maybe, but the title of the video is "..best ROAD car".

Sorry to see you miss out the Z3 Coupe which is definitly one of the iconic cars by BMW too ..

Anyone citing the 303 as a better car than the 315, 319, 326 or 327 obviously has never experienced one! And including the X5 in your list just adds insult to injury; what are you smoking (or drinking)?

The fact that we can argue till kingdom come about which BMWs should have been in this list instead, just shows what a fabulous brand this is. So here goes: the E36, E46 and E39 REALLY need to be included

Z4 coupé, M3 e46 and 850 CSi instead of 2002, X5 and i8 for my tastes

2002 definitely belongs. The X5 and i8 though can sod off, and I say that as an X5 owner.

Only the 2002 turbo is one of the best BMW 'road' cars, in this list. The X5 is an utter dogs dinner. The Range Rover did the SUV thing decades before anyone else. E39 M5 is my vote for the best BMW road car ever made, from performance, to looks, to build quality, it ticks every box.

Listen, as much as I love most of the road cars on here, that “utter dogs dinner” is what kept BMW alive and thriving right now. Sure, Land Rover/Range Rover may have done SUV thing long before anyone else, but the X5 basically kept to having the dynamics of a 5 series, just in a more lifted package. Whereas RR was more for off roading. We have a ‘15 X5 XDrive35i and it’s been solid 7 years and 150k miles later. Miles in which a Range Rover wishes it reached.

@@rahulmandala4930 Listen. I work in the motor trade, I know how it works. I understand they (BMW) have to make utter dogs dinners in order to keep the funds flowing so they can still make cars which don't sell in high numbers. it doesn't stop it being an utter dogs dinner, and the car I commented on ie the first gen X5, is an absolute dog. It's lucky for BMW that buyers actually purchase these awful things.

@@DjNikGnashers To you it maybe, but for us, it’s been a wonderful daily. People think practically hence purchases are going to be practical. Why would sports sedans sell in droves? They are built to a limit and they sell to that standard. SUVs are preferred by many. The E53 may not be perfect but it’s still not as bad as many make them out to be. Before we upgraded to the ‘15 model year, we had a facelift ‘05 e53 X5 with the I6 and it was solid at around ~320k miles. If people buy these awful things then they must be the best in the segment then. By that logic every SUV must be awful because of how big in demand they are.

Great video for sure, slightly surprised, but more saddened that my all time favorite BMW, the e38 750iL missed the list

E39 M5 ? or/and E39 5 series how been left out?

There are those who say that "Beemers" are the motorcycles and the cars are "Bimmers." I always called my 1972 2000 Touring a Beemer.

Totally agree. “Bimmer” is a wimpy term that has crept in from across the pond where they have this insatiable urge to put everything in little boxes. BMW has always fondly been a Beemer, regardless of the number of wheels.

X5 reliability? Are you joking? These are crap in the USA after 60,000 miles. I love Bimmers, don't get me wrong, but the X3 and X5 are the biggest POS' BMW has ever manufactured. And I was already to hit that subscribe button....but not for poopie stories, no way.

Best cars? You forgot the car that is best at the majority of things that a car does. The E39. Just goes to show that whomsoever created this list does not know jack about real cars.

Out of all the bmw SUVs the E53 is ugly lol, the first gen X3, first gen X6, the IX, the X4, X2 and facelift new X7 are all way worse. You need to go see a 4.8is in person, the stance and everything was peak BMW at that time.

Any BMW after 1987 is designed to disintegrate. Plastics glues wiring harness.
