The BMW leaving a Merc with similar power and weight means it has around 60 - 90 more horsepower. If you look at how close the rolling was between Merc and Audi you can see the true difference 510hp and 450hp (with AWD). So basically BMW fanboys are getting excited about a car that lies about it's power just so it can get an unfair advantage cause it's previous model was always losing. Basically a man on steroids competing with natural athletes and acting like a natural athlete. BMW should learn from Porsche how to make cars faster with less power. It's ridiculous 😂😂😂😂

Lol, who even takes these drag races seriously?! The difference in times is usually milliseconds, which just comes down to human reaction times. All drivers will react at different rates, down to the millisecond. To get more reliable times, you would have to repeat the drag race 1000 times or something, and then get the average from these runs, while accounting for vehicle performance deterioration somehow. Or you could completely remove the human element somehow and have computers on timers launching the cars, although I don't believe that technology exists.

Mat's logic: If I win, I win and that's it. If you win, we keep trying until I win and then I gloat in your face

That s why BMW wins rolling races, RWD means less pieces to move > Less torque lost for just moving the pieces. That would be interesting to see if an Audi RWD can beat RWD BMW, i m so curious. Althought, you buy Audi for cornering, cold weather and drag racing, BMW for Highway races, donuts and sliding fun. Every car excelles at something, Audi is excelling at traction and drag racing. @@brainsoff_9210 I agree to certain extent, but BMW are race cars, they perform well on the track or the tight streets of the city where there power to weight ratio helps cornering as well as low centre of gravity through the design all wheel drive tend to understeer with untrained drivers with harsh corners so thats why bmw’s is more track Audi is Drag racing / sprints with little to no turns in the road and Mercs is the all bark no bite luxury car great for getting you some pussy but stay off the track 🤣

@@brainsoff_9210 You can disable the AWD on the new M cars. Completely RWD only unless slip is detected. As we seen with the M5 Competition, there's no disadvantages with the xDrive.

Really impressed by the Audi. Cheapest car there, least powerful, but also the quickest, and it can be used all year around because of the Quattro. Love it!

Also the AMG at least with my E350 if you are stopped, switch to your final drive gear and it will do shifts as if it were the speed transmission. So 5 for 5 spd or 4 for 4spd and it shifts way better so you don't have to shift manually

This is why I get awd when possible, one thing I love about my F32 435i, I can just use xDelete to make it rwd, have some smokey fun with coworkers leaving at the end of the night, I leave it in awd most of the time, rwd loses traction even at 70 and it rains most of the year here.

Something tells me the "510" ps in that M4 is a rather conservative.. be interesting to see one on a rolling road to see actual power output

How fast was the Audi on the 1st or second run of the drag race?

M4 is incredible once it gets going, but it needed that jump start to beat the RS 5. Over a shorter distance I found the Audi to be untouchable 🏁

Great Video, can you re do this one with the new M4 X Drive ?

I owned a tuned 335i for 5 years. One day a c63 started trolling me on the highway, he obviously didn't know my car was tuned, i followed him, he slowed down and opened his window and said "don't even try buddy this is an amg". So i said "show me what u got". Then we both floored it. I proceeded to gap him by several cars then waited for him to see his reaction but it seems he was upset because he took an exist and ran away, probably to buy a box of tissues to wipe his tears, like all amg drivers do when they inevitably lose a race. This same situation happened so many times against other types of cars like several mitsubishi evos and audis and the occasional ferrari and porsche and oh so many inifinitis and nissan 370's, the infiniti drivers were the biggest cry babies.

50hp more in that Audi and it would be great! It really needs that same power to compete with other cars.

Dynamically the M4 is the best in class but I bought a 2023 RS5 coupe a couple of months ago! To live with it's Audi all day long for me because I don't go on a race track....ever!

Yes, completely agree on that. I have a 2022 RS5 sportback in nardo grey. It has the perfect balance between performance and comfort and it is beautiful (especially with the all blacked out option)

Since the RS5 doesn't make a competition version it would be better raced against the regular M4 or give the RS5 a stage 1 tune and run again

Matt if you had a choice between 2018 m4 competition 26000 miles for 40k 2018 c63s 28500 miles for 48k Which would you choose I'm thinking m4 for sheer driving feel however swaying towards the c63 just for interior look amd luxury

Cant even imagine the results when the xDrive variant comes out

100% but the 2nd gear launches and torque being slightly less than the F80 helps as well. Puts down about 460-480whp 400-410wtq

The whole point of braking is to prevent hitting something in front of you, so why would you judge a brake test from the back of the car. The back of your car isn't going to hit the car in front of you, the front will. Make sense?

When i was browsing around an m4 competition i saw that they only come in awd in the comp version so i wonder how this works rn uhm

The BMW and the Merc on a rolling start behave exactly like upu expect. Torque gets the jump and then the hp gets the legs.

Mat and carwow the girl that gives the countdown voice deserves to be introduced in a video! Every single drag race in the channel is connected with her voice. Consider it!

I couldn't get used to the M4's grille after all. Management acknowledged the design flaw, but still hasn't fixed the front. The vehicle's design is not to adapt. I'm waiting for cle amg now.

Matt retries against a AWD Audi who was in the dry patch: "He kept retrying until won"... Matt retries against the Merc who downshifted wrong and still wins: Silence...
