I saw that game in a Blockbuster video paper.

My deepest condolences to Doug and Rob, I know from experience how utterly devastating it feels to lose a loved one. Your mother, while I never personally met her, seemed like the most upbeat and charming person ever in every single appearance she did in your videos. My prayers go to your family, and I wish you all the best.

The music may have changed for the open, but seeing The Nostalgia Critic salty as a pretzel over a video game is STILL funny as hell. And the Rage Quit at the end is STILL classic!

The only game from Titus I ever played was a game called Prehistorik (or something like that). You played a caveman out for food and you had to go through levels clubbing dinosaurs and getting power-ups. A basic but kinda fun platform game, though a bit hard.

The game was made by Titus...as in the same people who made Superman 64....that explains so much

I miss how simplistic his old videos were. He puts stories into them now, and aren't always the best. Not that they are god-awful but I always preferred the old NC instead of the newer episodes.

it makes a little more sense when you know that he tried to make his own short films in his college days. When he started doing reviews, he mostly just went into them with a decent knowledge of film and story structure. Not sure if he had high hopes starting off, or if the original videos were just done for the lolz. I'm gonna assume that as he got more popular and was able to fan fund larger projects. Then he eventually got his own crew, and thus wanted to pursue his larger term goals(of what I'm guessing is being able to perform and act alongside simply just talking/informing about the topics) through his youtube videos. I understand the newer videos are polarizing, but I still find myself enjoying a few moments here and there. It might also be because I got into NC around the time he was transitioning from his "mostly sitting and talking" style with the "scripted/skit" style his newer videos have. So I'm mostly in the neutral party of these two generations.

You could tell this is old, because he still has his gun. Seriously, he stopped using it.

For some reason, the line "the floors are made of Crisco" always get me. That and Dominic at the end.

I'm glad I can watch this officially now, instead of watching an unauthorized upload from some random person.

NC should do video game reviews more often. I know they have a partnership with Blistered Thumbs and other video game reviewers for that, but Doug should still do a few. BTW MISSED a great joke opportunity @ 4:25 if you look at the bottom there's a warning for you not to try the actions seen in the game at home. I can come up with like 5 good jokes off the top of my head. You can actually start to see some of the burnout that Almost cancelled the Nostalgia Critic for good when he says the "... dance, monkey. Dance!" rant.

This game seems like it was originally meant to be a Bill & Ted game or something but then they couldn't get the rights so they settled for Blues Brothers.

I think I remember playing that came and pretty much went through my entire vocabulary of swear words. If I had a swear jar I would have been left in debt well over 30 years. They created a crappy game and slapped on a tie in to a popular movie in order to move the game on to an unsuspecting Blues Brothers Fan. Can't tell you how many times that has been done.

^yeah. Sadly everyone has haters, especially when someone specializes in something but then triesa whole new thing.

Not going to lie, when I first saw the thumbnail, I honestly truly thought it was a broken doug doing a vlog on what just happened. I am so, so sorry for your loss, Doug.

The music at the beginning of the video is different from other uploads of the Blues Brother SNES review that Doug did.

It could, a boss that can't directly hurt you, but can push you into say, lava or acid, or something, it honestly reminds me of the snakelike boss you face in the water section of Super Metroid. It honestly could make an interesting boss fight, or even a mini-boss.

Doug, I believe you should do more game reviews like this. Even though there is AVGN you can still do them in your own style.

This game was developed by the same company that made the N64 Superman game. And suddenly it makes a whole lot more sense.

Maybe becuz its a jukebox, the levels with outside and spikes and killer lawnmowers are actually a part of several songs in the machine

i've never even heard of this game before. i have the one for the N64 but i had no idea they did one before that one.

I've seen the original upload of this several times, so it was a bit of a jolt for me when the usual "Rise and shine" music for the opening bit was changed. x.x

Even in 2019 this video is still fun to watch.
