I was in the Coast Guard in SF Bay and we had a 13’ Whaler that could take everything the Bay could dish out. Great boats! This young lady knows how to drive one very well! Fearlessly. Whalers do that to you.

My father-in-law had a 20 ft Boston whaler I forgot if it had like a 70 horse or something. It wasn't too bad but he lived in Edgewater right next to where the Boston whaler factory moved to. On the Indian River and that was perfect to go out and that 20-ft boat it was great out there. I've never heard a bad thing about Boston whaler boats.

Boston Whalers are unsinkable. My brother had a seventeen foot that he cherished. It was a fine riding boat. Where he lived we could dock at the Seven-Eleven. What a hoot!

This reminds me of my teen years. I had a 15 foot center console with a Johnson 70 on it. We had a nasty inlet that’s called Big Pass in Sarasota. I used to take my friends out, jumping that boat as high as I could get it on the breakers. Once I took my friend David Sobelman out and he seem to be having a great time screaming and what I thought was laughing. When I went to make a turn to go to the pass again, I looked at his face and tears were streaming down as he cried like a little baby, begging me to go in. Of course, I immediately took him back in, and he asked me not to tell anyone about his reaction. Being a good friend, I never told anyone until now. David, if you’re reading this, it’s been 35 years and no one cares anymore.

your 15ft was/is a FAR superior boat to the 13 in literally every conceivable way. probably why values have shot up in recent memory. I remember when you could get a project hull for $2500 all day. now they are project hulls with new motors going for $15k lol

@@ct17622’ difference in length won’t matter in that inlet lol. As long as it’s a Boston Whaler it won’t sink either. It will go to the gunwhales and no farther you just hold on till help arrives. They literally had commercials selling them on TV because they cut them in half and wouldn’t sink when I was growing up.

Capt. on the Whaler .. "Atta Girl !" Great boat handling in water that shuts down most, if not all boats your size, and larger .. You make my 57 year old 17' Whaler, Nauset model, proud !

I loved them. I never ever had seen some people with more fun like these an let us smile. The boat was perfect for fun just like a gocart on water. The girls are so crazy and maked me smile with her crazy boatturns. I miss them

I owned one of these 13ft whalers for about 15 years. Paid $250 for the hull!. Awesome boat. Wish I kept it.

I owned one for years. It took everybiy of Carnage Lake Erie could throw at it and so.e other guy still rolls around the islands in it to this day. One of the best boats made. Period! Unsinkable too

They are having the time of their lives and I love it!

The amount of boathandling skill, and occasional sheer luck, that it takes to blast through this inlet so consistently in a glorified dinghy, is amazing.

If you're a strong swimmer, with that many people around, no problem swimming without a jacket. It's hard to swim with a life jacket on, let alone, trying to tie something up. Good video!

My thoughts exactly. I've been in that situation before and took my vest off for more maneuverability. I'm not advocating not wearing life jackets...but I'm also not advocating jumping into rough waters to swap tow hooks if you're not a confident swimmer either.

@@michaelmccarthy4615 it depends, safety? yes! if you get whacked in the head by the whaler then ever Michael Phelps couldn't swim thru that. but in this situation I think it was best to take it off, its a lot easier to swim without one on, and he seemed to be a confident swimmer

My parents got us boys a 15' Whaler with a 70 Yamaha when we were about the same age, we used to follow the party boats out so we could jump their wakes, off course back then our spines were a lot stronger. Good Times Good Memories!, haha😂

I did it all my life. I'm 50 now and have zero back problems. Live in Colorado now but grew up in South Florida and was on a boat from 8 years old until 45. Also as an Electrician I have been in and around some tight spaces. I sure DO NOT miss those Florida attics!!

I hope they don't grow old, so I can enjoy their frolics the rest of my life. Brilliant.

Blue top legend is my favorite boat!!! Unsinkable even with no drain plug!!! Gigged many of flounder from the same boat but no blue top...

When blue top legend breaks down, and they have to switch the lines, and the guy jumps in, he has obviously grown up on the water, and swims like a fish. That was me as a teenager. It would be nearly impossible for me to drown at that point unless I had someone hit me over the head with a surfboard or something like that. People that grew up around the water and are in it every single day. Don’t run very much of a risk of drowning.

This is old after blue top almost lost her life and had to get rescued she is longer seen at Boca Raton inlet. Thank God as they say God watches over fools. I was once young and reckless now I respect the ocean

My dad stepped up to a real bass boat in 75, with a 45 horse Evenrude on it. My brother and I took over ownership of the 5 horse portabol outboard we would rent a john boat and stay within sight of the marina while Dad and his buddies went out. Lake Toledo Bend, Harvey's Landing. He would leave us there in a tent and go back to work Monday. it was awesome.

In this canal neighborhood, the smallest boats see the most action. Huge, beautiful sailboats sit for years (90% of sailboats motor 75% of the time). Center console jobs are the favored boat with the second most action behind small, bimini'd lake boats. Inlets are around 20 miles away in either direction off the ICW.
