RIP to the Ninja. One of the worst rides ever due to head banging, BUT, still holds a place in my heart for the nostalgia. So many headaches riding the Ninja as a kid 😂😂

I really don't know why they bothered with the change. Should've torn it down and built a mega lite in its place. The location would be perfect. Either that or get rid of it and the scream machine and build an Intamin giga and build a new wooden coaster where the mindbender is in a few years

omg ikr! I went on it a few hours ago (currently in line for superman) and I swear if I were two inches taller I would've been beheaded

Me and my brother’s first ever coaster when I was 14 and he was 10. My dad forced us to go on it, and we were crying like babies. No regrets, as I love coasters now!

I just actually road this ride today at six flags. It’s actually not bumpy anymore ride has definitely been improved. And I normally don’t even get on roller coasters. But I would definitely ride this again.

They refurbished the entire cars. Its not the coaster that was uncomfortable, it was the seats and harnesses. They are so much better and i experienced zero pain while riding

I rode this back in Ninja days and it lives by its name! Felt like a Ninja did brutal head damage

Fun fact: this ride was designed to fit into the space now occupied by the Great Nor'Easter at Surfside Pier. This is why the layout is so similar to the SLC; the SLC was actually designed to fit into that space, and then cloned.

Pleasure Beach Experience It’s actually Smooth, before they refurbished the ride (used to be Ninja), it was the worst roller coaster at the park due to the amount of head banging, buts not much better from what others say.

Before it was repainted, the old Ninja version of this coaster was the one they filmed the Griswold family on when they were at Wallyworld in the newer Vacation movie with Ed Helms and Christina Applegate. It was called the Velociraptor in the movie.

I rode the back car yesterday. I rode the ninja 15 years ago. I loved it. Got to appreciate the tight turns where you feel like you're about to get decapitated.

Gemstar 382 what did vekoma ever do to you? Vekoma never beat up your kids or your dad, Vekoma would never cheat on your GF, Vekoma wouldn’t make you eat something you wouldn’t wanna eat, all Vekoma does is shake you around a little bit

Those are all valid points except for one. My daughter has ridden this atrocity and it DID in fact beat her up. Police reports were filed but unfortunately it's our word against Vekoma's.

Gemstar 382 Vekoma is like your big brother. He knocks you around a bit (ninja) then be realises he went to far then goes easier on you (inFusion) but despite all the fall outs. If something did go wrong be would always be there for you (lech Coaster)

This ride was fun. I rode it at night and wasn't expecting that loop and had to hold my glasses. I'll definitely ride this again

The only compliment this ride deserves is how compact it is. :D

First few times I rode this is was fantastic. Best ride in the park. Rode it last year and it’s starting to get bumpy but it’s still really freakin good. My second favorite roller coaster next to Tennessee tornado at Dollywood

I surprisingly really like this ride, it may be a little on the jerky side, but it is intense in the back row!

Gotta love the G-force grunts lol. How you know it's an old school looper packed with good G's.

this is definite our favorite ride. it is such a smooth ride! my only complaint is that it's so good, we go "nooooo!!" when it's over.

I love how the ride after getting to the top slows down than starts coming off the chain clicking

I remember riding Ninja about '94 or '95. It didn't look new to me then, but maybe it was.

This was actually my first roller coaster I ever ride. How the hell am I coaster enthusiast, I don't know. But yeah this ride apparently did it for me when I was 7.

The new restraints truly revived this ride. Head banging gone!

This ride use to be called the Ninja and it was red & black... but people hated it cause it would throw your head around And Leave a major headache or sometime even injury. It’s the same ride... just different colors but better safety gear

It’s fun, I live near this six flags and let me tell you, this one used to be pretty smooth, but the past few years have not treated this ride well

Rode it long ago as Ninja and it hurt me so bad that I’ve never been able to ride any coaster since…. It was BRUTALLY PAINFUL!!

i respect the hell out of this coaster for turning a 2/10 coaster to like a 5 or 6/10 coaster. still not a great ride but ninja was the one gaping pit in sfog's repertoire and its been improved greatly as blue hawk, even if it is still just mediocre

Rode this last week. Got off the ride with a stiff next and I'm pretty sure a mild concussion. Kids seems fine and wanted to ride again but the older you get the worse this ride is.

They should add those new trains to other coasters like Viper at Darien Lake and Six Flags Magic Mountain, Vortex at Kings Island, Anaconda at Kings Dominion, and Ninja at Six Flags St Louis to name a few.

No that was the other Ninja at Six Flags St Louis. This one was all vekoma.

Vekoma had an agreement with Arrow in the late 70's/early 80's. As long as they used Arrow trains they had access to Arrow patents (including their tube track design). Subsequently, Vekoma tracks are extremely similiar to Arrow's.

Lack of innovation. They took too long to update their track design which made for rough rides. B&M leap frogged them in design, taking a lot of business. Building X for Magic Mountain bankrupted them (for many reasons)

If Vekoma isn't trying to kill people with rough rides, it'll be their layouts. Even when watching this on a computer I feel like those supports and track will chop my head off.

That Butterfly element is one of the weirdest elements ever

my friend is forcing me on this ride next time we go to Six Flags and this made me feel a little bit better about it

i can safely say this vekoma is only good when it's not transitioning or upside down. so the drop and the brake run lol is the best parts

I would like to say. Im a scaredy cat and absolutely hate drops. This is the only big ride where I can say I dont feel drops, nor scream. again, I was barely convinced to ride this ride and im a screamer, but this ride isn't bad at all. I like to brag since its one of the bigger rides and I dont feel it.

this one was actually more fun than it looks. i didn't feel the drop bc it was super fast.

It’s the exact same as ninja minus the roughest section, the pads you’d hit your head on and the old samurai theme with loads of taki ads

This is actually a terrible rolller coaster. It is one of the roughest at the park. I would recommend mind bender or Superman.

Lucid Talks the layout should be mostly the same but the extra 300ft is coming from the fact the probably mismeasure the original track length.

i remember riding this. and it was pretty good except for some parts that were rough and i remember one of the rough parts kinda jerked my neck so i quoted something from friday “ my neck my back my neck and my back “ and the all the riders heard me and started laughing.

Not sure whether Six Flags Magic Mountain is considering giving its Viper coaster a similar rehab, like Six Flags Over Georgia did with Blue Hawk (used to be Ninja). Assuming Vekoma trains with vest style restraints on an Arrow mega looper is doable... as many Arrow Dynamics manufactured world class coasters are hard to come by. Looking forward to Twisted Cyclone coming to SFOG in 2018. Hopefully the wood supports get painted that similar shade of grey, like SFNE's Wicked Cyclone coaster, Twisted Cyclone logo on the lift-hill structure, and maybe some weather chasers theming... and hopefully Georgia Scorcher gets a new and much needed paint job during the winter off-season.
