2022 Goliath Roller Coaster On Ride Front Row 4K POV Six Flags Magic Mountain
Goliath is a steel roller coaster located at Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park in Valencia, California. Manufactured by Giovanola of Switzerland, the hypercoaster is located in the Goliath Plaza section of the park and opened to the public on February 11, 2000. Its sub-tropical theme is characterized by ancient ruins of the Mayan civilization. The ride is nearly identical to Titan at Six Flags Over Texas, but it lacks a 540-degree upward helix prior to the mid-course brake run and features a slightly shorter track layout.

I've sort of ridden this ride. Last time I was at Magic Mountain, Goliath was under construction. I got a good view of it by riding Colossus. I have ridden Titan many times which is almost-but-not-quite identical. I've never seen what it looks like from the helix to the last curve because I gray out every time. Thanks for posting the PPOV so I can get a clue.

@@shaodynasty1017 Titan is a big pile of garbage as well, just not as much so as Goliath. We went out to Magic Mountain a few week ago (Over Texas is our home park), and the first thing I noticed (aside from MM being an infinitely better park) is that Goliath creeps over the top of the lift hill. Titan doesn't do that. Very odd, and just kills the first drop. At least Titan's first drop is worth the trouble. Goliath's first drop is just dull. So Titan is crap after the first drop, Goliath is crap the entire way.

@@realmackle sometimes you don't actually come to a stop, other times you sit there for a bit. there could also be some sensor management that determines how much force to slow the train down by, but I have no idea why it needs to just sit there... and don't get me started on the 1 foot track nugget at the end...
I remember going on this the first year it came out. At the time Goliath came out it was the tallest full circuit coaster on Earth. It had the tallest drop. A few months later the opening of Millenium Force pretty much made Goliath a forgotten coaster for a lot of people. MIllenium Force was the worlds first Giga coaster. It’s a shame that Magic Mountain still does not have a Giga, but I digress. Goliath was super disappointing when I first rode it. It’s an ok ride now. Very smooth. Not a terrifying first drop for a lot of roller coaster enthusiasts (thoosies) but it’s still a solid drop. Titan at Six Flags Over Texas is very similar to Goliath. There’s some differences about that ride, but the biggest difference is that when you’re on Titan you have an incredible view of the AT&T and the baseball stadiums. It’s pretty awesome. Anyways, thanks for the upload! Maybe Goliath could use a repaint? And they need to fix the misters that they used to have at the bottom of the first drop. Magic Mountain doesn’t maintain the little special effects of their rides and it really shows.

The first drop isn't that good? It looks so massive.

@@LucasKimCARP That drop really sucks.. It's not steep at all so it provides a forceless and airtime less experience

@@LucasKimCARP Can confirm that the drop was a bit disappointing after getting on it yesterday. Though, I’ve recently taken a real liking to rollercoasters, so maybe I’m spoiled by coasters such as X2

The drop definitely isn’t weak 🤦🏾♂️ I don’t know why these people keep saying this and if this drop is weak please tell us about a better drop? You probably going to get a handful of people who say this drop is weak. It’s opinion anyways just go ride the ride yourself but it’s definitely not weak. Might not be the best but definitely not weak 🤦🏾♂️

@@MrOPM-vc6ow it’s because the trend in the roller coaster world was going for a more forceful drop. A lot of Alan Schilke roller coasters feature a very very steep drop. People have gotten so used to them that we forgot what a less forceful drop (Goliath) was like. People can’t go into Goliath expecting an RMC experience. It’s a totally different experience. Goliath is a coaster that I’ve grown to like more and more as I’ve gotten older.
_I just so happen to be in Cali when I get this recommendation! Oddly strange but just in time forgot all about magic mountain._
Looks fuuuuun! I can’t believe I’ve never rode this.
Let's trash it and build a giga! it's time magic mountain!!

Another hyper coaster would be great but don't get your hopes up for a giga its not gonna happen. Honestly you can't just ask them to put a coaster like that there, and also the isnt just going to magicly put one thats not how this works.

yo this made my day lmaoooo
This coaster needs some serious updating and a decent paint job. Look how faded it looks.
When the lift hill started to slow down at the top of the coaster, I said oh shoot regretting wanting to go on this ride.
My goodness the thrill and anticipation!!!

I don't remember the train coming to a complete stop at the mid section, I remember it slowed down to barely have enough speed to continue going. Maybe they changed it.

that's the break-run. depending o the loading time at the station, sometimes the train will come to a complete stop at the midway point. it's a safety feature.
This is my kind of coaster! High, fast, and no inversion! I have an immense fear of being upside down. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. I can handle any position on a roller coaster. Forwards, backwards, even sideways. But upside down? Nope! Forget it! If it goes upside down I'm out! That first steep drop may scare me a bit but it looks really fun!

You never feel like you're going upside down when you are. When you're going through an inversion, you experience high g-forces that force you down into your seat, so you feel right side up the whole time. There are some coasters like Viper and Full Throttle that you feel upside down on, because they go through very slowly, but they're the exception rather than the rule.
