    I am 70 years old and discovered the right diet for my blood type (O+) about four months ago. It transformed my health in less than week. Chronic, severe heartburn, fluid retention in feet and lower legs, very sore knees (constantly, for years,) and inflammation - all are now either completely gone or almost completely gone. I had been vegetarian for a very long time, more recently had added fish and chicken, but still had been consuming tons of grains, nuts/legumes/vegies that weren't right for my blood type, and zero red meat. I was getting sicker and sicker on a diet that would have been more appropriate for someone with Blood Type A. I am forever grateful - so grateful! - for this knowledge.

    I’m A+ I just tried various types of diet even keto but nothing worked. Then before even realising about blood type diet, my body was craving for being vegetarian and tbh I’m loving it. I just realised listening to what our body needs is incredibly helpful. I’m enjoying at the same time doing great.

    I have been plus size my entire life. I became vegan in 2017. I lost about 40 pounds, and then I stayed there. I never had energy to exercise, was always tired, and craved steak. I stayed on a vegan diet for 3 years despite how I felt, which was "Inbalanced". I started to research and came across this diet, and it made so much sense to me! We are "all" different, so why would we all be on the exact same diet if we all originate from different parts of the world? As far as the animals go, the elite are pushing veganism with scientific meat such as beyond and impossible burger. They are killing the animals and soon will have no use for them. When that happens, how will we have vegetation without the circle of life??? Fertilizer etc... also everything should always be in moderation. I have been on this Blood type diet for 3 weeks now and have lost 8 pounds. I am type O. I eat no more than 3 oz of meat at a time, once per day. I feel amazing!!! To each there own!

    I think Dr Peter D'Adamo is a true genius of our time, and he clearly thinks out of the box! As a blood type O individual I "experimented" with Dr D'Adamo's recommendations, and I must admit that he is pretty spot-on with foods that either make me feel bad, or simply so much better!! How do you say thank you to a man like this....

    I started Dr. D'Adamo's "life style" around 1998. I am now 68 years old and have energy enough for two. My husband died 6 years ago from cancer ( in remission four times since 1970) . We both felt that by living according to the food that was appropriate for our blood-types my husband lived longer because of this change in our lives. I'm an O+ and my husband was A+. You do a wonderful job in this interview and you inspire. I hope others will try this as well. It's like you say, it's only food that 's being changed ,its not some huge sacrifice So many wonderful recipes as well can be found in the cook book. I'm with you.

    I have pretty much the same story about finding about the blood type diet. I am O- myself. We have naturally great immune system if we eat well. I seldom get sick almost never to be honest. If i am not feeling well i use natural remedies to get better. I can’t see how medications can cure us it makes no sense to me. The body wants ti heal itself all we need ti di is help it. Good food, good sleep, exercise, sun and fresh air are usually needed. Sun is something i try to get every day at least an hour exposure helps.

    @@luigiprovencher8888 just to correct you. My husbands first cancer appeared in 1970. He went into remission and was never cancer free . Second cancer , a version of the first, reappeared a few years after. He was back in remission after heavy treatment. I discovered the Blood type diet in the early nineties. My husband lived 44 years with cancer and died after the fourth one. His mother died from cancer and father from heart disease. My husband also survived open heart surgery. I did keto for 2 years, and while I looked great, I still felt unbalanced. I started getting off keto, slowly reintroducing whole grain foods and fruits and also lessening red meats (I always felt uncomfortably full eating it), and I just felt better in general--balanced. Come to find out that I'm blood type A+ and it all made sense why I was reacting those ways to certain foods! Even more so now that I'm pregnant and my body is producing more blood for this baby, I've just been craving everything my blood type calls for. The body does remarkable things when you take care of it!

    So true, just met up with my High School friend. We are the same age in our 60’s. She is on all kinds of medications for Rheumatoid Arthritis, has no idea sugar is poison basically. When i suggested to look into the correct diet to help her condition she wasn’t really interested. I am the same age no medications taken not even over the counter stuff. I was always researching what foods to eat. Found the blood type diet to be very helpful and have more or less followed it all these years. My friend doesn’t even know her blood type. 🤦‍♀️ The truth is we need to take interest in our health and stop relying in doctors to fix us after we become broken after years of eating the wrong food.

  • @MRSNVD

    @MRSNVD

    4 ай бұрын

    @lulunene653 great question. I saw decent weight results about 20 pounds. However, it looked like more to most people (so they said). I know that's odd, but somehow, the weight changes hit in the areas that needed it most. The unhealthy areas like belly fat ( increased risk for heart attack), excess thigh weight ( which slows down circulation), and off course my bottom. As for speed, within the first two weeks, I noticed less bloating, better breathing, and taste bud changes (things too sweet or too salty). I could start to feel my body react adversely to me, picking the wrong food to eat. About one month in, I could clearly see the physical results. But the well-being factor was present well ahead of that. Now I did, at that point, incorporate beginner yoga to get me moving ( full transparency). The Blood Type Diet is truly a lifestyle, and seeing it that way has helped me. I never stray too far from it because, like I said, my body reacts adversely when I do. Mostly water retention, etc....

    When I first saw this book I thought "Nonsense". I had been vegetarian for about 15 years, which was one of the easiest changes I'd ever made. Looked up my blood type and it says A is the natural vegetarian and I thought WOW, maybe they're onto something! My father was O and tried to cut out red meat but it made him ill to go without. So he ate steak once a month, pork or chicken more often. Sadly, he died before we learned about food intolerances or this diet. For me, cutting out wheat was the #1 best thing I ever did for myself. That was 15 years ago...I'm just now coming back to the Blood Type Diet. I've gained unhealthy weight & realize I've been drinking seltzers and sodas and eating a lot of potatoes. Looking forward to getting better with this diet change.

    Same with my father too. Sadly passed away from a heart attack. He used to consume a fair amount of pork, potatoes, wheat and lots of coffee. All O no no's, and some for A's too. The GenoType Diet and eating to your secretor status i've found is helpful too, if you find the standard BTD is not quite enough. I'm a type O non-secretor with the Hunter GenoType. I do find the listed avoids for Hunters (even if they're foods OK for O's in the BTD) do still mess with my system. Before i even began eating to my GenoType, on the BTD i dropped down from around UK waist size 36 to size 28 and potentially i can go even smaller. Just hard to find adult sizes more appropriate.

    Slowly researched, prepped x transitioned into beginning The Blood Type diet, before my birthday, last weekend. Personally, aiming to stay afloat w/the diet until the first quarter of the year. Then, guesstimate to determine if I can wave in x out of it throughout. My Mother x I are B+ and my Husband x daughter are both O’s. I have also been cross-referencing, to determine like-minded food groups, I can share w/my Husband x daughter, as well. Looking forward to my new found journey.

    It worked for me. I've seen it work for others. The irony is that the method is as much about what to avoid as it is about what to eat. It still leaves a lot of choices of what to eat. I have followed this method for about ten years for blood type O. It is not as simple as "eating more vegetables and fruits". I read the book three times over several years. Each time, I made slight changes to my eating habits, and each time I seemed to gain strength and energy. Over these years, I gradually cut what D'Adamo advises cutting, coffee, black tea, distilled liquor, wheat, dairy, eggplant, cauliflower, cabbage, rhubarb, blackberries, strawberries, kiwi fruit, oranges, tangerines, Brussels sprouts, olives, corn, potatoes, lentils, peanuts, tofu, cashews, pistachios, most cereals, most beans, pork, bacon, smoked salmon, canola oil, white wine, cinnamon, vanilla, echinacea, ketchup, and black pepper. I feel twenty years younger than I am. I have no pains, sleep well, and take no pills, and I was not born yesterday. I am old enough that I would just like to die peacefully in good health. On the other hand, it is not not a holy book for me. Contrary to D'Adamo's advice, I eat (for frying) coconut oil, Brazil nuts (for selenium), and take tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (fermented) in smoothies. None of these seem to disrupt my digestion, and I believe that they nourish me. By the way, Dr. Pierro Mozzi, MD, an Italian doctor, reached very similar conclusions independently of Dr. D'Adamo. I have also observed those with blood type A, who tend to have less acid in their stomachs at rest. They do not digest meat well. They are natural vegetarians or vegans. They tend to digest certain grains, beans, and legumes that are amost poisonous for me. By the way, you can be "plant-based", but still be a carnivore. I probably eat more vegetables and fruits than most vegetarians. It can even be cheap to eat this way, buying local seasonal vegetables and eating eggs and pumpkin seeds, among others. The critics of this idea and method have neother read the book nor tried the method for themselves. The only doubts I have about the book are D'Adamo's theories about the history of blood types and migrations of people. What is the evidence for these theories? This is not clear to me, but it does not undermine the method. The other uncertainty I have is - how did he reach these conclusions - blood type by blood type and food group by food group? Did he and his father simply collect observations (data) of individuals, keep records, and notice patterns? If not, is there any test that makes it possible to discern for a specific (exotic) food that is not already listed whether it is healthy, neutral, or unhealthy for a specific blood type? I wish Dr. D'Adamo a long life and much prosperity. In some ways, this book and this idea is an extension of the ancient adage that "one man's food can be another man's poison", attributed to a Roman philosopher named Lucretius.

    I think you missed that it was mentioned in the first book that Peter could see the food Lectins interacting with the blood cells under a microscope. He was able to buy just the Lectins specifically for testing and observed the reaction upon dropping them into the blood once magnified. To quote from the first generation book (Eat Right 4 Your Type): "-How To Detect Your Harmful Lectins.- I often have the experience of a patient insisting that he or she is following the blood type diet to the letter and staying away from all the lectins targeted for his or her blood type--but I know differently. When I challenge the patient's assurance, usually the person will drop all sighs of protest and say in amazement, 'How do you know?' I know because the effects of lectins on different blood types are not just a theory. They're based on science. I've tested virtually all common foods for blood type reactions, using both clinical and laboratory methods. I can purchase isolated lectins from foods such as peanuts, lentils, meat or wheat from chemical laboratories and the results are visible under the microscope: I can see them agglutinating cells in the affected blood type. There is a scientific barometer that can be used to measure the presence of lectins in our system. The barometer is a simple urine test called the Indican Scale. The Indican Scale measures a factor called bowel putrefaction. When the liver and intestines don't properly metabolize proteins, they produce toxic byproducts called indols. The level of these toxic byproducts is shown on the Indican Scale. If you avoid foods containing toxic lectin proteins that do not metabolize properly in your system, your Indican Scale will be low. If, on the other hand, you regularly consume foods that are high in indigestable lectins, your Indican Scale will be high--meaning that you have a high carcinogenity of substances in your body. My patients with high Indican Scale results often protest that they usually follow the diet, only easing up occasionally. They can't believe that their Indican Scale numbers are so high. Here's the reason: The Indican Scale shows that a toxic food entering your system is magnified to 90 times the effect on someone for whom it is not toxic. For example, if a Type A eats a processed or cured food, such as bologna (salami), the nitrates are magnified 90 times in the negative impact they have because Type As are particularly susceptible to stomach cancer and the toxic effects of nitrites. The average person comes into my office with a 2-1/2 on the scale--more than enough toxicity to indicate a problem. The good news is, after only two weeks of faithfully following the blood type diet, that person's Indican Scale number will drop to 1 or even 0. This may be the first time you've ever heard of the Indican Scale, but it has been widely used in conventional medicine for the last fifty years, and all commercial laboratories perform it. Ironically, only a year ago, several major laboratory groups discontinued its use because not enough people were requesting it. I am certain that as people begin to better understand the blood type-lectin association, the Indican Scale will be revived. Meanwhile, ask your medical doctor or naturopath to perform the test." It does appear though that much later after his first book, Dr D'Adamo made a discovery there are some blood type A people possessing an Explorer GenoType with a more muscular body build and bigger frame as presented in the GenoType Diet book that presents they may be able to tolerate higher quantities of meat if you are that type with higher recommended meat portion sizes. I'm aware of a couple of type A meat eating content creators on YT who were doing fairly well on a mostly carnivore diet. One of them is still doing it last i caught up with her. Unsurprisingly, they aren't that skinny at all and have a slightly bigger build. Will also add the diet worked for me too as an O non-secretor, and appear to be having some success with the GenoType Diet too typed to a Hunter GenoType. I found the avoid foods listed for Hunters did still mess with my system despite some being OK for O's in general.

The other 5% i have some awful habits like eating lots of candy, eating teaspoons of sugar at times I eat nothing else though so it's not as bad i don't think. The brain runs on glucose so. I have a lot of bone pain and arthritis pain. I am trying to eliminate them now by increasing my knowledge.

    It does work Fred! The concern that I have is that the amount of food you need to eat to get the nutrients wouldn't be possible for the normal person. that's why he has created his blood type diet line of nutrients. I went head first into this a few years ago. I purchased all the nutrients suggested. There must have been20 bottles of vitamins and supplements which had to be taken at different times of the day, with food, without food... It was ridiculously expensive and I was unable to keep up with the routine. Thank the Lord, my ailments weren't such that I was bedridden, or had boughts of illness that I was immobilized. the reason I bring this up is because all that has changed! Yes, this diet helps prevent further damage to your body. But now the ability to get your personalized nutrition can be created in one formula made exactly for you, not all those with your blood type...AND it is so much less expensive and easier! Not only can we prevent further damage with nutrition, we can heal your body, because the DNA is telling you exactly what it needs! I would love to tell anyone who wants more info to contact me.
