Here's what I found in IMDb trivia: 1. A reality in which Trixie took over equestria was scripted, but was cut from the final product due to time constraints. 2. A reality in which Derpy ruled was proposed but was cut as it took away from the tone 3. Another scrapped reality would have been Twilight meeting with an older Starlight standing over a desolated world. In it older Starlight would have pleaded with Twilight to forgive what she did and beg her to stop her younger self. This was scrapped as it was deemed too dark for a child's show

Y'know this is probably one of my favorite episodes. Just seeing the ponies at war, and then just everything dead at the end there, chilling, it makes my imagination go crazy with what could have happened in that time frame, I love it. Now onto season six then you'll be caught up, one of the better seasons in my opinion.

Yeah This finale was nothing short of fantastic! It really is amazing :D

This, for me, is easily the best finale up to this point. Part of that is Starlight being such a great villain.

The one finale where past villains return in one of the most creative ways, from Nightmare Moon to Starlight Glimmer; this definitely a season finale to remember! Kudos on finishing S5 man!😉

I think the last timeline was if Starlight took over equestria. If everyone was the same, they would be weak to any threats

Twilight was right, in this episode the map wanted her to solve problems with quantum physics. Well, kinda. There's parts in quantum physics where there's time-travel involved ;-)

I like the episodes' ambition but I always wonder what happened to Twilight and Starlight in all those alternate timelines.

The spell Starlight used to remove cutie marks may be one of the forbidden magics. In D&D, some campaign settings have certain schools of magic forbidden by law, or they have magic completely illegal.

I like how Starlight started off sitting in the chair with Fluttershy's cutie mark... because she was about to cause a BUTTERFLY effect.

I love it when your eye balls start poping out of you head. It makes the beginning more funny. and I Love the cat.

Table stays because it's a part of something you may call a time machine. Most of the magic used to create this time spell was from the map table itself, so it wasn't all GlimGlam :) Glimmy doesn't care about conquering the world. She's no evil. She just wanted a little harmony in her old village. She just took that harmony thing from the wrong end. She's still powerful though. If you wonder who would've stopped Chrysalis in a world conquered by the Evil warlord you need to rethink that entire question :) There's actually bunch of theories about all those timelines flying around. I like changes! And I like how this show doesn't strain from those.

I'm happy you liked this and I'm especially happy you liked it more than Season four's finale. It's such a pleasant palate cleanser after many people putting that one on a pedestal that no other finale seems to reach... And because of what? A rather short fight scene? A G1 character returning? I loved Season 4's finale, and no. It wasn't because of all that. It was just genuinely an amazing episode and plot! The Villain actually seemed far more threatening than any villain before, even conning the master of chaos himself and then betraying him. Tirek was a fantastic villain, not because he was a returning classic from G1. But because he demonstrated what can be considered "True Evil" He is still my most favourite villain because of that. The fight as short as it was, was great because nobody expected it, it just sort of happened so suddenly, and they did a great job on it considering they never did a full fledged fight before, it could have been longer, sure, but it was still bloody amazing. I have to disagree on the Rainbow Forms thing, personally I think it would have been so much better if the Mane 6 fused into one pony, one super warrior incredible of massive power that could stand up to Tireks might. I'd have liked a proper fight again between the fused ponies and Tirek, one giant monster towering above Ponyville Vs a single pony that was once 6, and with the elements magic as the source. I think that would have made that finale infinitely better, but it was still top notch /)

The way you describe the fusing reminds me of the end of Rainbow Rocks, giant space alicorn VS Tirek would've been sweet indeed! And I was kinda joking about the rainbow forms, I think most people think they're dumb. As for your general feelings about the episode, man, I wish I could share them. Mine are pretty much the opposite, though I remember liking the episode a whole lot when it first aired, but now it's one of my least favorite two-parters. But that doesn't matter, at least we can agree the season five finale rocked! (\

It must feel good that you can get to season 6 now; especially since the show is on hiatus, so you can have plenty of time to catch up. The season 5 premiere and finale are definitely my favorite, which is very rare for a premiere and finale of the same season as my favorites. Great reaction and can't wait for more! XD.

Starlight Glimmer.... the only antagonist of the series that had a real chance of winning against Twilight and her friends, even Twilight herself admitted that she couldn't defeat her and that she had to convince her to stop, because if not then they would had go on for all eternity. And neither the Elements of Harmony or the Whole "Magic of Friendship" could intervine in this because of all the Time Travel. So yeah.... this Confirms that Starlight was the most dangerous antagonist MLP ever had.

That hole timeline with sombra , an entire reference to DC flashpoint ( an alternate timeline that flash created when he went back in time to save mother from being murdered ) The war against king sombra and the crystal empire ------- the war against aquaman and wonder woman Celestia assembles equestria's ponies ------ cyborg assembles the worlds metahumans Sombra rules half of equestria------ aquaman sank western Europe and wonder woman slaughtered the United kingdom Definitely my favourite episode of season five

my theory? twilight, although an alicorn? doesn't really do anything. magic stamina is a muscle like any other. what does she do to actually train? all we've seen her do is read. and learn new spells but no training. starlight in the premiere said she spent years learning and training that one spell. also, she didn't lose a friend cause of a cutie mark, she lost him cause of her own actions- or lack there of

Maybe, but without the Mane Six's friendship, Discord would never have been reformed. And, in any case, Celestia (and possibly Luna) would still be the wielder of the EoH and thus the Petrification spell affecting Discord would've have abated.

You don't become an alicorn because you have powerful magic, but by fulfilling something great. So I very much doubt, Starlight would have been an alicorn if she never was evil. Even pegasi can technically become alicorn, I think somewhere in an MLP book or something it was said that Cadence used to be a pegasus. Personally I'm still waiting for a male alicorn. Big Mac doesn't count, it was a dream.

No she wasn't, however she is the most logical one to cause the devastation that Twilight showed Starlight. Trixie is the only other major antagonist not shown.

I don't think Trixie would be capable of doing anything that would lead to that. I'm more inclined to think the dragons attacked.

This is a fantastic finale. Starlight becomes my second best character. The alternate time lines are cool. Starlights backstory is fantastic.

Starlight drama wasn't so bad to be honest, because since I was arguing on Starlight's behalf, it thought me so much about forgiveness and stuff... although it's boring by now, noone brings anything new to the table, I can beat someone before they even say anything because their arguments are always the same

Actually I think it was something else...if you noticed on the map in ever version including the unaltered present, there is a mountain with a giant skull on it, the last iteration didn't have the skull...so maybe whatever the skull belonged to did all of that...

Pony of shadow would not have gotten there without Twilight and her friends and in the future too. More like it was all the villains succeding one after the other until everything near Ponyville was destroyed.

You know instead of flim and flam they should have had the world destroyed by a million pinkie pies from the mirror pool

Yeah we have 2 cats as well, and 2 dogs. Also the reactions are still coming out daily, unless there's any complications.

So here's my issue with this episode Starlight only stopped the mane six from meeting the villains all except maybe Discord and Chrysalis would have still shown up. The war should have been between Nightmare Moon, Sombra, and Tirek maybe Discord but Chrysalis would never have come to power since with Nightmare Moon in charge and Celestia on the moon the Canterlot wedding would never have happened.
