I wouldn't say similar

Finally finished watching, and I wanna offer some musings on the aspects of this one's story that I feel could've been clearer. Firstly, a lot of people really don't get why Cinch doesn't drop everything about the games in light of magic existing. Judging by everyone's reactions to magic in these movies, I have to imagine it's, while not common, at least not a totally unknown thing. (After all, at no point did the government come to investigate, for example). Now, Crystal Prep is most likely a private school (uniforms and all), so they don't get funded normally, and have to rely on their success, and who would choose an expensive private school over a regular one unless it's super duper great? I think Cinch just saw that whatever magic bullshit was going on was gonna get resolved one way or another anyway, but in the end her school would still end up with a stain on its reputation if they lost, and for whatever reason keeping her school at its best seems to be very important to her (could be simple pride). So she was merely being somewhat level-headed (though not totally, considering her desperate idea to release the magic) and thinking in the long term. Secondly, while you didn't seem confused by it, I haven't seen anyone guess why the humane 5 get their magic back before Sunset takes it. I think a very reasonable explanation for that would be that when the Shadowbolts saved their lives, bonds were formed, and new friendships means a refill of magic. Thirdly, Mister The Dog probably gained the ability to talk because he was struck by a beam of Fluttershy magic. You see him get zapped after he hops after the "pointy rabbits". Fourthly, and this is very minor, I think the people that dipped into the big ground portal didn't get changed into ponies because maybe it's the actual portal that does that, and it doesn't just happen on its own. Fifthly, and this is back to being important, a lot of people think Twilight is being dumb by continuing to carry her device with her and sucking out all the magic. I'll just try to counter with this: imagine how actually freaking stupid of her would it be to try to "get rid of the pendant", as some people say. If she disassembles or destroys it, it can release all the magic. If she hides it, someone can steal it. Besides, the first time she actually saw the pendant be dangerous was during the motocross, before Sunset shouted at her, before that she couldn't know whether she was harming anyone by sucking magic out. And between running away from Sunset and the last event I'd wager she wasn't in the best state of mind. Can't think of anything else at the moment, so I'll leave this already giant wall of text as is. I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. It's my favorite because I'm very fond of Cinch's character (partly because of how she stands out amongst the usual antagonists of this show) and I find Sci-Twi a very intriguing character, and I especially love the twist with her becoming the accidental villain: you don't see it coming, but in retrospect you can see how she was being under growing stress the entire time, it would make sense for her to snap while overwhelmed by magical power. I don't think I've been as empathetic towards a character in this show as I've been towards poor Sci-Twi in this film.

Sci-Twi having a device looking like Ironmans arc-reactor Twilight Sparkle= T.S. Tara Strong= T.S. Tony Stark= T.S. coincidence? I THINK NOT!!!

It make sense that Sunset carries extra guitar strings since she plays the guitar. You really don't have to look for recent season background ponies since the studio were producing the two at the same time. Equestria Girls are creating original characters to differentiate the two products.

1:05:20 I never understood why people were wondering why the humans were not turning into pony is when they were hanging over the hole I thought it was obvious that if you don't walk through a physical medium like say the base of the statue or a mirror you won't actually physically change it's the difference between walking through a door or going through a hole

The "species translator" is located on the base of the horse statue between the "air" and the "portal". In the first Equestria Girls Movie (Through the Mirror); Pony!Twilight put her left arm inside, watching it transform into a pony leg [but not getting teleported to the Equestria´s mirror]. It works like a Stargate.

That'd be... too bloody. Twilight just built a portable McGuffin. That is not a screensaver. It's called a picture. It's a device that has the incredible ability to show an image without the need to turn it on or the requirement of electricity. It's like magic, except real. I am pretty sure that Cinch is not Harshwhinny. They have completely different colour palettes. Sugarcoat is best character. Blunt like a baseball bat. "We'll totally win with you here." That must be the biggest unintentional insult ever. "With you here, your team is going to suck so hard that we're definitely going to win." I am wondering now: What happens when somebody travels in the portal while it is being removed? We're going to getting song with a music at the position of these moment. Sunset was incorrect, but she only lost because she made a simple calculating mistake. Her algebraic solution is exactly the same as Twilight's. "Here. Hold this demonspawn Angel." "Spying feels kinda wrong." That's putting it mildly. When Pinkie fell out of the door, she had one of the best expression ever. Trained attack plants... Wat? Let's play a game of CTF. I'll get my snipe. Wait, a different CTF? "People would think you're crazy." Unless about fifty students have already recorded the whole thing with their phone. Not to mention Photo Finish who is riddiculously trigger-happy. "It seems we have a new Wondercolt here at Canterlot High." Yep. Definitely need to change the way new students enroll. This is ridiculing security. "Hey guys, I was just stuck in the season finale and I thought I'd spoil it to you." -Coppergears P.S. Maybe you can check out the bloopers video to this movie.

About the kids taking pictures I don't think that they will do that, considering what's going on I'm pretty positive that they're more concerned with staying alive and keeping themselves safe then taking pictures of everything, even Photo Finish.

My headcannon is that when Twilight accepted Sunset's hand at the climax, Starlight was accepting Twilight's in the Finale at the exact same time. As for the music, since Rainbow Rocks is a more music oriented movie their songs are more catchy and upbeat while in this movie the songs are more story oriented. Honestly, in my opinion, with the exception of the 3 Siren songs, I was not really into most of the songs in Rainbow Rocks. In contrast, most of the songs in Friendship Games were really engaging to me. I guess it's just a style preference.

It is a nice parallelism, sure. But it is technically incorrect. Twilight offered her hoof to Starlight in the past (years before S1E01); this event on Canterlot High happened on the present (about the same time as the end of S5E26).

Friendship Games is a great movie, I feel like it's really underrated among fans. Legend of the Everfree is good as well. My favorite songs are "What's more that's out there" and "acadeca". There is an extended duet version of What's more that's out there with both twilight and sunset singing. It's amazing . All versions of it on youtube have the sound changed to avoid Sony copyright strikes, but YayPonies have a download link to the deleted scean with it: yp.coco-pommel.org/ypeqg/YP-1BRZ-EQGFGS-01.mkv (video link for deleted scene 1.) Besides that there was a "blooper reel" for the movie - see if you can find it out and do a blind reaction to it! The reason we told you not to watch this movie before the season finale is because Twilight mentions the time loop. WIth this movie being released in the mid season break of season 5, it kinda spoiled the surprise for many people who like to go into episodes, especially finales blind. Legend of the everfree was also released mid season, but it doesn't contain any spoilers.

Trust me, we get it. Humans in general are pretty hit or miss. You can meet the most amazing and caring humans but sometimes you have to wade through a lot of selfish and ungrateful people. Add this to the large number overly grouchy humans and it makes it difficult. Just remember, those grouchy humans are usually going through something to make them grouchy. It doesn't give them the right to treat others negatively yet they do. It's why I'd love to meet other bronies someday. There are weird ones but I'm sure there are just as many very nice ones (such as Apple Geek and BurningAxe here).

This is a great movie. A great introduction to Sci Twi. The friendship games are interesting. Midnight Sparkle is fantastic.

ShTHfan 1 I don't think it's necessary, I wrote what I call "unusual forms", a pony and human form are usual in MLP FiM universe (in my opinion at least).

Rainbow rock is still my fav movie. the Friendship games are okay the legend of Everfree is next. Sunset Simmer has my heart. i keep on thinking of a Harry potter Fanfiction meet My Little Pony's the Friendship games.

Saw this on my feed and had to watch. In all honesty, I was spoiled a little by it but there really isn't much that could have been done. The tidbit of the very ending was also mentioned as many have said not to watch the movie until after the Season 5 Finale. Even in the Finale, there was a hint to this movie. You asked, I wonder how this looked like from the ponies view. Well, in the finale, you must remember the main 5 rushed to see Twilight to find out what was going on. If it was just the timeline that Twilight had to deal with Starlight Glimmer, then nothing should have been sense by the other 5. However, since the other 5 asked, it is my belief that they were talking about the portals created in this movie.

The Human Twilight solo was to be a dulcet with sunset shimmer. if you have the blue-ray version of friendship games it is there. if not search for delete songs of friendship games. and please react to the first version of What is more out there. because the first version has information in it that was stupid of them to cut out and explains sunset's behavior better. and go ahead and react to the other removed scenes too

Alright that's weird, it wasn't blocked earlier when I was going to watch it, and then when I stopped to watch something else and came back to it, the video was blocked. And now it's not blocked. What is going on? lol. This is probably my third favorite movie from the franchise. Not as enjoyable as Rainbow Rocks or the fourth one in my opinion, but still a heck of a lot better then the first Equestria Girls movie. Sugarcoat is my favorite Shadowbolt character, love her! XD. Awww, I wanted to do the comment-thingy, but I can't because I'm sick! I got sick only ONCE a year, and it has to be today... Goddamit >. Friendship Games... Really good movie, but in a different level than Rainbow Rocks. While Rainbow Rocks shines with the songs and the Villains, Friendship Games focus more on Sunset as a character It was a more emotional movie, which can indeed be a motivation to be better. But I prefered the Dazzling as Villains, so yeah. Really looking forward to Season 6! A lot of good shit in there, can't wait :D

Yeah I know :/ That's down to KZread. The video was blocked world wide and I had to remove one of the songs, but when it did that, it shifted the audio for the rest of the video

Wow talk about timing. Click on the vid and see it is blocked, then reload and still blocked, third attempt 30 seconds later and it is now unblocked wohoo!!

I agree with everything but the 4th one in my opinion. Then again I haven't watched it since my reaction to it, so I don't really remember much of it. But I thought at the time it was pretty good. Definitely the weakest of the 4 movies though. 2 is my absolute favourite. :)

@@BronyBurningAxe yeah! Same opinion with the 2nd one, I don't like the 4th one because, even if I don't watch it since a time ago, I clearly remember that it bored me more and stuff I didn't really like, but at least the specials were better (some of them)

That's annoying :/ That happened because I had to remove one of the songs in the movie and that shifted the audio :/

Cinch was a weak villain. Midnight Sparkle was good, but could have far more screentime.
