blending with shades of coral and blush chalk paint on a dresser makeover

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

**Please note, I no longer use and cannot recommend Dixie Belle Paint products due to highly questionable business practices, contract violations, and unethical treatment of artists and retailers that led to mine and numerous others resignations in late 2021. Please see the links below for more information. I have chosen to leave this video content up for learning purposes only, but highly recommend considering other products when trying to achieve these same techniques. There are too many good product brands on the market to support a brand with these practices. I've included links to my most used options below

Happy to say DB is available in the UK. I’m in Scotland but buy online from an English based company. Only started furniture painting this year. I’m addicted (at 70!). DB is definitely the best I’ve used. Can’t see me changing now. I only tried using it after watching your KZread videos. So thanks, I love your natural personality.

Great piece. Love that you set your project against a solid background this time, as it makes it easier for me to see and focus on the dresser, you, and the project. I tend to tour the room when there is a busy background. More a “me” issue. Curiosity rules my brain I think. lol Keep your great lessons coming. I am impressed with this product line. Thanks for sharing all the steps in your videos and for this edge blending technique.

What was the base coat colour you put on this? It’s a beautiful piece. I love very pale pinks and I think I’m going to have to do something with that pink champagne colour. I just love it. Do you do the shading on the drawers and sides only or also on the base skirting and legs? I tried to find the finished dresser on Facebook but couldn’t.

I have blush pink, lilac, haint blue and fluff white. Which colors would you suggest I use to blend? I was also considering stenciling harlequin on the top, stripes on the drawers, or would that be too much? LOL

Hi Brandy! I just started using DBP at the end of the year, beginning of Fall this past year and JUST decided to watch some videos. That's how I roll though, do some then watch some videos to see what I can improve on. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! You said at the beginning that this was recorded live, so it's understandable you said hi to viewers and such...no biggie! Your technique is what I'm watching for! I did just watch an older video and am wondering when you switched to DB brushes? I haven't made the leap yet as I started doing this just to repurpose some furniture at home, but this may be something I end up doing long term and will need to invest.

Ive used several different brands and all react a bit differently, some blend easier than others. I like dixie belle because it has a nice open life to work the paint and i never pull up my base coat

@@SelahScrappingMemorables I can say - I recently used a Dixie Belle brand as a base color and was highlighting/blending with an off brand (more latexy, tho still considered chalk paint) brand - and you could DEFINITELY tell the difference in paint quality. The off brand beaded up with the water and would only "belnd" once it mixed in with enough of the Dixie Belle. So - you can blend w other paints, but I wouldn't use the low quality ones. Dixie Belle is very, very good for blending.
