Integrity is what I kept thinking while I watched this. You both have it . The “company “ does not. I stopped purchasing said companies products as soon as I noticed that you two and a few other furniture artists left them. It’s gracious of you to offer clarity. I have no doubt that you will both continue to enjoy great success and prosperity because of your talent , work ethic and authenticity. 💕 🙏

Thank you for sharing this. I have zero respect for any company who devalues those who represent them. I personally, will not EVER give another penny to that brand. Their biggest loss, however, is in losing both of you. Keep up the great, honest, work!

Girls thank you for addressing the elephant in the room! My partner Sue and I cut our teeth on Brushed by Brandy videos over 3 years ago and of course immediately ordered that companies paint. So much so that our local retailers consignment store that carries our furniture became an Elite Retailer. We no longer support that brand. Companies are about the PEOPLE and they are not nice people.

Brandy, I have watched you for a long time. You have always shown your good heart and love for what you do. I’m a huge fan, I love your work. I love that you are such an excellent teacher. When I first heard your explanation about what happened, I immediately felt like I was on your side. I will never use their product again because of the treatment both of you experienced. I don’t like when a bigger entity treats a person disrespectfully. I know that God will pay you back in the long run. God bless you and your family. I know you’ll have continued success going forward. Turn this over in your mind as a learning experience and move on with the good grace you’ve shown so far.

The golden rule don't mess with my man or my money! You two are amazing and we all have encountered toxic environments. I feel horrible for what you ladies have been through. I am perplexed how a Business Lawyer does not seem to be involved . It seems to me that a Business Lawyer could have handled this case for you ladies and handled the major stress and communications for you guys. It seems they could have gotten you the compensation you were entitled to. And for all of your stress you could have been possibly compensated. None of this is okay. To me, I would have gotten a lawyer who handles these situations daily. You deserve better.

This whole event was a nightmare. I suspect the company is in some sort of financial peril. All the signs are there. I hope going forward you receive your proper compensation. I will never use products from that brand despite living within 1.5 miles of a retailer.

I’m so sorry you’re all going through this it is so unfortunate but god to know. I do not feel comfortable supporting companies that do this to the people that supported their products. I have also found that a product I bought from them previously is definitely not up to par! Good luck in the future 🧡

I have been on and off the fence, thinking y'all need to speak with lawyers. I worry for you wonderful ladies, trying to do the 'right thing' with people that take such horrible advantage of this mindset. The minute you said “toxic positivity” I really didn’t need to hear anything more. Of course I listened because you put your truth out there and it deserves to be heard. I agree with so much of what you said. Breakups suck. Losing who you are is not beneficial to you EVER! And yes, it’s always emotional when you thought relationships were personal and then you realize the loyalty wasn’t between people - it was about loyalty to a brand or a company. Someone being contractually exclusive for me as a customer makes me less trustful that I’m hearing their true opinion. No brand is perfect and not being able to speak your true opinion is not freedom or honesty. (Not calling you dishonest. Just saying you aren’t being allowed to speak your truth due to contractual obligations.) I found each of you because of the company. I stayed a follower because of your talent. I used your links but can tell you that I very often didn’t make the purchase immediately because…life! I’m rambling but I know what it’s like to be not heard. I’m sure they were in no hurry because the less you make the more they make. As far as I’m concerned, y’all were their marketing department because it’s how I rolled with that company. Dixie Belle should take a lesson from companies that have happy supporter. Treat those who work for you or who contract with you the way you want them to treat the customer. You were treated unfairly. Thank you for being fair and honest with us. I’m a follower for life. ❤️

I have watched a ton of your videos brandy and had just noticed that you were using a different brand of paint and did not know the history. Unfortunately I did buy the Dixie belle paint but I won’t be doing so going forward. That is horrible what they have done to you guys!

That's what killed us, all the effort was one sided, but they posted publicly that despite their best effort we left and it was all false, damage control at our expense, profits over people had become a recurring theme

Thank you for sharing what happened. I’ve been a supporter of both of you off & on as I had time to watch. I’ve owned my business since 1991 and have to say this is par for the course. It seems like whenever you try to team up, there’s a downside, like this. The other parties are jealous of your talent and will try to take advantage. Keep moving forward. And I’ll keep watching. Wow, I am a follower of both of you. I first saw Brandy and watched all her videos. I learned so much from you Brandy. One of the things I learned and it worked and I was so proud of myself for doing it was using the puddy to make a mold for a broken piece on a dresser. I used the amazing casting resin and the putty to made the mold and filled it up and in 10 minutes I had my missing part to the dresser I was working on. After painting it you can't tell at all which draw I fixed the pipping. I have learned so much and love your painting. I learned how to blend even though it's a never-ending learning experience. Brandy, you're such a good teacher. I just ran across this video bc I was looking for an old video you did so I can watch the blend technique again. BOTH of you have taught me a lot and I thank you. I have to say this puts a sour taste in my mouth for Dixie Belle bc I hate employers treating people badly. I can't Support this company anymore by purchasing their paint or other products. I guess I'll be looking at videos of new products. Good luck to you both you're amazing!

What you've shared, and the TACT with which you've shared it, makes me proud to be human. I will not ever purchase from the-company- that-shall-not-be-named again. now i understand why several of my channels were no longer using their product. thanks for letting me know. i saw none of the drama or heard of any of it as i do not read comments, just leave some. i had already left the brand myself do to it not be easy to get what i wanted for the colors i needed. i actually considered becoming a seller but did not. hearing what is going on and what has been done to you 2 and other channels. sorry you had to go thru this. no company should treat their sellers this way. in my opinion the 2 of you alone brought in a nice chunk of revenue. glad you have parted ways. i love the colors and choices with the new brands you are using. hope for nothing but the best with your new brands!

Y ou guys are so talented you dont need any special brand you can do this with any brand, when you have the talent and personality that you have you need to rely on one.

What a nightmare! Thank you for telling us what you could about what has happened to you both. I admire you both for your persistence with trying to resolve the issues that were not yours, but the "company's". Shame, shame on the "company" for blaming the victims. I am so proud of you both. You ladies are two of my favorite furn artists. Brandy, ooking back I had noticed your vids had seemed off, like you were a newbie, and I guess you really were. After being betrayed like that you would obviously struggle to keep your ducks in a row. You did amazing though, Crys'Dawna, looking your vids were sporadic, at best, I was afraid you were burning out. You had a sadness to you, I know you were in the mists of a huge move, but girl, you are so in control, YOU would intimidate me if we ever met, and I have only been intimidated once in 63 years, and that was by the guys a the AF base whe I went to visit my son...🤣😂 Ladies, you are AMAZING, you both have been "violated" but instead of sitting on the corner you stood up and said, "NO MORE!" Some how with my busy schedule I missed this video, but so glad I seen it. Let me start out by saying I have been with Brandy from the very beginning, before the mention "company" I was shocked by the announcement of the break up, but because of unknown information I never questioned the decision you both made and never ingaged in any conversation in relation to it..because of lack of truth. I never stopped following either of you....Thank You both for bring light into a unknown situation. To say the LEAST I am very disappointed in the not mention "Company" and very shocked at their professionalism. Today I have choices to make of my own and with that said time to move on!! I know this video is a year old now, but this type of situation is ageless. It is "Group Energy", and in group energy there is always a power controller (out one who WANTS to control, AKA Narcissist) and there is the one who defies that control (AKA Scapegoat). The scapegoat will be the one the controller projects all the blame onto in order to avoid taking responsibility themselves. There are two kinds of scapegoats: Those who accept, in silence And .... You two are the bravest of those two. It takes immense bravery, with a dash of insanity, to step forward publicly and share words that you know ahead of time will be used against you in every way. That is the epitome of integrity. Regardless of outcome, you shared. You are emissaries for Right, and for Truth in all ways, keep speaking and I am very glad you both found your voice. Wow! This is traumatic, sad, and heartbreaking. 1:06:59 Based on what you have divulged it feels like this company has screwed people and situations in uncountable ways. Being a retired HR exec I would strongly recommend you get a good attorney with a background in both technology and contract law. One way to get what’s due is sometimes the mere threat of discovery. Just my suggestions but I do hope the best for you two. You are intelligent, sincere, ethical and talented. Don’t allow this to lead you to ever think differently!

Brandy and Crys, I just watched this video and was unaware of your difficulties with this particular bully brand. That being said, I don't watch your videos because of the brand of paint you use; I watch to see what you do with the paint, no matter what brand you use. I know what ever brand you use you will make a beautiful piece of art. So, keep it up and stick to your guns, ladies. I love your instructional videos.

I’m in a group where people are destash if paint , transfers etc and a lot of them are dixie belle not sure why there are so many people are stoppping their business selling it , but it’s a lot of this companies products not saying that it’s this problem here but thought this was interesting, hope all works out for you all, we love your videos , I’ve learned a lot, I can see the stress that it’s called cause yes this is your income they are messing with , this is how you take care of your family and bills etc , keep your head up and don’t give in , you will get this figured out and I believe all will work out for you two, honesty will prevail all !

I don’t care for hungry money people and that’s what that company is you’re totally true when you say trust is a main thing if you can’t trust someone that’s it. I’m so sorry they did this to you because you both are such a wonderful artist and I watch you all the time no matter where you go or what you do I will be there watching because I love you’s!

I was wondering what was going on. As someone who tries to support the content creators I learn from this transparency is everything to me. I am really sorry for all you have been through and I hope they make better choices about how to treat their business partners.

You both are my fav people. I go to your channels for creative ideas because i knkw you always have different stuff than everyone else. Yet you have less followers than people who just paint furniture in one color and call it day. That is sad.. wish you all success in whatever you do ❤

Wow! Sounds like a horrible day at the office under new management! And I can still hear the hurt in your voices. I have so many questions but my 1st one is why would they shoot themselves in the foot? Were they new to the team? Everyone knows the importance of marketing your brand so for them to take away highly visible marketers is just not logical. It's been good to get back to painting with a variety, breaking old habits and seeing what other lines offer

This is so sad. Especially for those who are Selling this brand now. I'm so sorry...

Layers and layers don’t matter a toot when it comes to integrity. I immediately quit using their products on my art and let others in my circle know as well. I cannot support a company who treats others in their community this way. Have you contacted an intellectual property lawyer? You may be able to receive compensation for your work unless it is explicitly stated otherwise in the contract. At least in California.

What they did to all of you artists is horrendous. You left with your self respect and you both will be totally fine. Your both super talented. I'm about to embark on my creative journey. I've been collecting pieces that are awaiting me in my garage. Just need a few more supplies. I'm 60 and it's been awhile since I've used my creative juices. They are still there though...lol I will say you both are an inspiration for me. I found Brandy about a month or so ago and Kristana a few weeks ago. I admire that you kept it real on this video just as you do when teaching. Perhaps this had to happen to catapult you to the highest level... I concur that doing you tube on pricing market's and such. What things the beginner should think about. And designing on a dime. That would be epic. I've rehabbed 6 houses. And hope to get back to that again as well very soon. And I enjoy watching you do yours . :) Your both excellent teachers and I'm sure there are a bazillion paint companies that would love you to endorse their paint. Dixie was just getting your feet wet! And your right you will take that experience wherever you go. The good the bad and ugly. We only learn in life from the crap that goes sideways. You followed your moral compass throughout and there's definitely nothing wrong with that. Karma is a boomerang so you both have some serious good fortune coming your way. Im so sorry you ladies are going through this... I can only imagine how much paint you have sold for that company.

Great decision ladies. Both for your willingness to take a stand. And thank you for teaching others that it is right to explain the facts. The company will lose much revenue which is what they did to themselves.

Americans have so much more power then we have been led to believe. We can control who we choose to buy from. We can weed out the manipulators and dishonest rhetoric.

Dixie Belle or Redesign with Prima? I dont want to spend my money at a company that treats artists so so horribly.. You ladies are amazing. Please get your money from them. You deserve it!!

It's heartbreaking what you two had to go through.

So this is about business and not that the paint changed in a way that made it no longer useable. By the way I completely understand your decision to make this video and appreciate your openness and spirit seen here.

I am so sorry for what you both have been going through for the past year plus , I stand by you both , I would of made the same decision you both did, I applaud you both for trying to solve the issues, I only bought Dixie Belle products due to you both plus another, I now but Annie Sloan and a couple of other brands as I don’t want to buy products from a company who treats the artist like this , I live in Melbourne Australia, I was going to become a retailer due to you all but have changed my mind , the person I bought my products from has now decided to no longer sell there products either. I love watching your tutorials and will always watch you both , I appreciate everything you both have shown us all as I and many other have learnt so so much from you both . I am so sorry this is still a issue for you both hopefully this will all get resolved soon and you both plus the others get compensated for what you went through. You the ambassadors where the face of the company, you where the ones that made the company what it is today , in the end the loss is there’s as they have losted a lot of business I am sure due to this . Stay safe stay proud , you are both amazing loving talented ladies with so much ahead of you both . I wish you both all the luck in the world you deserve it ❤❤
