And now we need the actual 3D space with objects to simulate reflections ect!

Wow I knew speakers existed for nearly as long as I've been using Blender but I never bothered to find out what they were used for. Thank you so much for this tutorial!

So true! Been using blender for a long time and I've only found about the speaker like a month ago
Wow! A speaker. I mean, finally! Some audio control is nice.

Finally a proper tutorial about this, thank you!
A rare and very good tutorial on the basics of speakers. Very helpfull. Thanks.
I didn't even know that Blender did anything with sound! wow... thanks
Thanks! I was wondering how could i use the sound in my animation. Thanks to you now i know about everything in speakers in blender!
@Blender Made Easy THANK YOU!!
Very very good tutorial. Thank you. Cheer
Awesome tutorial.
Why do I feel like blender sound is left so underrated and underdeveloped... anyway, amazing tutorial!
Blender is AMAZING
First time hear about that, thanks~
Oh my God, This is awesome.
super useful!!!!! thankssssssss!!!!
Thank you
I never knew that blender had speaker 🔊 in it😀🙏
Thanks
Thanks ❤
thanks very helpfull
Ok, with the future update for Blender I wait for an Ambisonic / Spatial Interactive Audio Speaker like the WWise Audio Engine 🤩🔈
You also need to check mark SEQUENCER under POST PROCESSING. If you don't the sound won't render
thanks!
I am freaking out! I've been trying to get the visuals - I NEVER even new Blender had audio

This was a great tutorial. I just have one question, is it possible to visualize the angle cones?
Is there a way that I can use this for proper surround sound effects? Isn't it just stereo? I'm waiting for blender to come up with 7.1 channel audio based on this speaker set up.
I always wondered what the speaker was used for ........ & now I know thanks. I suppose it raises another question. Are there sites like HDRI Heaven but for sound affects ? If you know any or use any could you do a tutorial on them ? Stay safe & keep on smiling 👍 🦘
Well that's great but how do you output deliverables?
hey, great tutorial! I'm having a problem: I have an animation with multiple cameras, and when I render the audio it only takes the first camera into the calculation of distance and doppler. Is there a way to make it switch to different cameras as "hearing points" as the animation progresses? Thanks!

Ik I'm very late but The one thing that you can do is but all the speakers in one collection and hide everything else and then render the animation as mp4 at a very low resolution, I haven't tried it yet but it should work in theory.

Update after about 2 hours: well it works! The audio is a bit janky but it does. Use AAC for audio, imo it works better than MP3. (I have an exam in a few days and I'm experimenting sound features of blender lmao!)

Lol, "Bullying the cube". :)
Maybe an update with 5.1 and 7.1 sounds. You need to update the preferences/System/Audio, and then, you need to choose an audio format supporting more than 2 channels. Unfortunately KZread will shrink the 8 channels to 2, but, if you have a home theater, you can really enjoy it. One exception is the Lfe (Bass) channel for the basses, which is created but muted. Blender does not know how to filter the basses. You have to edit the audio file in audacity, mix all the channels in one, apply a low-pass filter and use this new channel to replace the Lfe one.
what would be the uses for this?
Knew blender had speaker but never thought about why, not even once since the past 4 years
Now I can sound design blender also! After sculpting, animating, compositing, grading and editing here comes sound design 😂, what next??!!
how do i make it loop?
Cómo hago para que el sonido se sicle Por ejemplo los pasos de mi personaje En algún momento el sonido se acaba Y mi personaje no termina de caminar aún
Nice video. But How can we simulate a sound in a room or a mountain?
@robertocollinslazo

Hi. I don't think that you can bounce sounds off of objects in blender. But the sounds that you bring in to Blender can (using Audacity) be given reverbs say a room or a mountain. I would think that for a mountain sound you could also use an echo effect. Cheers
So multiple speakers with tracts can give you stereo effects.
Do you know how start a speaker to a custom moment and not to the starting ?

In the Non linear editor, move the sound file to where you want to start.
Didn't even watch the video. But I never saved the video so fast for when I WILL eventually need it Edit: just watched it. My curiosity won
i want to know how to loop it without copying and pasting it a lot
Enjoy your like!
It's new feature?
you cant edit the sound in the the nla Editor ? make it shorter or longer
sir, when using and rendering in blender, my gpu( rtx 3070) performance is only 15 to 20% and the cpu (ryzen 5 3600) performance is 100% how can I get maximum performance from my gpu please help
@Owiko7
2 жыл бұрын
if you are using cycles, make sure it's doing GPU render and not CPU render go to your windows search bar and type in "Choose a power plan" and select AMD Ryzen High Performance, or any pan that isn't "Balanced" or "Power saver" if those don't work, then idk what to do. Some operations in blender won't utilize all of your computers power for some reason, as I've been pondering the same issues. My setup is a 1660 TI with a Ryzen 7 3800X, and I'll get situations where a render doesn't utilize all my computers power, but somehow is still slow as a snail.

Hi 4th
there's something like this?? i've just been using the video sequencer all this time 😭
What just happened to that cube!?
Ok. But. I'm confused... What problems are solved with having a speaker in a blender project? Is it to bake in some interesting reverbs and delays using 3D geometry? Are the sounds cast out like light photons? Can we bake them as Dolby Atmos objects? Is it for 360 and 180 VR renders? As presented.. it sounds like a solution in desperate need of a problem.

It allows you to have location based audio. For example if you have an animation of the camera moving forward you can have audio behind the camera fade away as it moves. Or a character walking and you hear something to the left. Stuff like that. It's been in Blender for a very long time but not a lot of tutorials on it so that's why I made one exampling all the settings.

@@BlenderMadeEasy ok... But... Apart from it being from an object in the 3D space. Can one not get the same result by... Keyframing volume and panning like in any other NLE or DAW? Can one maybe model a head with ears to get a very accurate headphone mix? I mean. I guess it would be nice to be able to recreate reverb and echo accoustics of a space if the sound can be treated and bounced like light. But otherwise it just feels like a complex solution to a very well and effectively covered problem. That of volume and panning.

@@jmalmsten its part of blenders all in one philosophy. You can do lots of things that blender does better in other software
I can’t hear the speaker
first?
I didn't hear anything
The audio speakers in blender are absolutely awful. Everyone I've ever discussed it with says to do the audio in a separate audio program. You know, an actual proper audio program, not this slapstick garbage shoehorned into blender. Half the features you showed dont work consistently or to any decent level of quality. For example you only show examples of one speaker instead of multiple speakers, and you didn't show anything related to channelling the sound to a video sequence editor where that audio would be mixed in with the main audio of the video. Once you start trying to use the speaker feature in tandem with the other features, it all breaks down into a hellish, buggy mess. You've made a tutorial for a set of broken, incomplete features.
Thank you
