Wow. Thank god I found your tutorial. You won't believe it but I spent like 2 hours on youtube looking for an explanation on how to group a cube with an empty. God. Thank god for your tutorial. Short and perfectly understandable.

So glad you found this useful!
Great idea, the same method can work with Lattice, can multiply the possibilities
Thank you Kenny! Very clear! Short tutorial very useful
finally what I was looking for, tysm!!!

Thanks-great....
Very nice tutorial, but I don't understand why don't you explain how to UNPARENT the object if we want to? It requieres a full another vid for that??

All you have to do is right click, and hover over Parent, clear parent!
I'm still frustrating. Why did they get rid of Ctrl + G variant as it was in 2.7? That was much easier and quicker.

Not sure! But i'm sure you can customize your key-binds!

@@KennyPhases I just bumped into video with dev's commentary on this. It seems like getting rid of grouping was a deliberate decision. After explanation I understood that using collections probably way more convenient.
Hi, Thanks for your video ! Is it possible to remove an “empty” object ? Thanks

Yes you can delete an empty object! Use the X shortcut to delete!

@@KennyPhases Ok, thank you !
I need your Ui layout. The layout in my version of Blender is horrific.

Mine is the default factory layout! I believe you can reset this easily within the view menu!
Thanks for sharing. I'm trying to figure out if I can use geometry nodes to instance on points for a parented object like an empty that has many child objects. Is this possible?

Honestly I'm not well-versed in geometry nodes, otherwise I would be able to answer this question or help more. I am sorry! I hope you find a solution!

@@KennyPhases No worries, thanks so much for responding. Cheers and have a good weekend!
Hi Kenny Thanks for this video but I just don't understand what's the point to parent all cubes to an empty when you can parent three cubes to one cube for example and then use this cube as you do with the empty

This way you have to remember each time which object is the parent. Imagine having a scene with 10 different groups of objects, and you have to keep in mind what object is the parent for each separate group. also, somtimes this object will just be out of the view/ inside another object, e.t.c. Meanwhile Empty object will always be within reach

The main reason is that the ORIGIN of which you will move your empty, is usually different than one of the cubes. For example if you want to "explode" a product or device into pieces, you wouldn't want to use one of the objects, you would want them all to be contained in a single box (my preference). So it's part PERSONAL preference, and part FUNCTIONALITY. Let me know if that makes sense.
