Guys just so you know they didn't speed up filming to make Snipes appear faster he is ( at the time) or was just that fast with his punches. In fact, they asked Snipes if he could slow down his movements for easier filming. By now I'm sure some commenters have mentioned that Snipes has trained in several martial arts over the past 40+ years.

This movie was basically the casting call for Hellboy and Hellboy the golden army. I hope you’ll give those two a watch after the Blade series. Also the type of “new” vampire in this movie, was the inspiration and used in Del Toro’s The Strain series. Which is an amazing series and books.

  • @alexoubinavillanueva5387

Two nice pieces of trivia: the "reaper" design was the first draft that Del Toro would end up using in his own book/TV series, "The Strain". And the recurring bald vampire is Santiago Segura, a close friend to Del Toro's who is also a known spanish actor and director. During the door scene, when he speaks that vampiric made up language to ask the other vampires to let him in, just before Blade uses him as a human shield, two words are clearly distinguishable if you speak spanish: "torrente tres". Torrente is a series of spanish films, starred and directed by Segura, and by the time Blade 2 came out, Segura was trying to gain funding (and make some marketing) of the third installment of the series, Torrente 3 (tres, in spanish).

Its crazy you say this ending had a Frankenstein feel to it because Luke Goss actually plays a character called Frankenstein in the second and third installment of a movie series titled Death Race, AND Frankenstein's Creature in a two part miniseries closely adapting the original Mary Shelley book! The latter is my favorite depiction of the story in film!

Nearly 20 years later, and I think its gotten better with age. Considering the amount of Garbage movies we keep getting, Blade Trinity, while slow and boring at times, still deliver on the action, and may have some of the best fight scenes in the whole blade series. That final fight with Abby and Blade fighting through security and the vampires is one of my favorite fight scenes in any action movie, and of course the police station fight was great too. Its a great movie and the story is actually really good. If it had just been directed a bit better and had some scenes cut a little bit, it would probably be considered by many to be better than 2.

Quick fun fact about Nomak that you (and most of your audience) are likely not old enough to know, Luke Goss was the guitarist in a pretty popular Britpop boy band back in the late 80s with his twin brother Matt and a friend, Craig Logan. Craig kinda disappeared into the background/management side of music, Matt's still making music, and obviously Luke is making movies. I guess it's a pretty common trend to have the third movie be significantly more humor focused. This can sometimes backfire, when you've attracted a bunch of people that liked one style and then change it too much. I'd say it's worth watching, regardless.

That is a good point. Blade 1 and 2 certainly have humor too though, albeit different like that corny comic book cringe humor (which I love). So maybe its the different style of humor to go along with Reynolds. I always wondered if it wasn't just that people felt Reynolds and Biel got to much of the spotlight but from the beginning its all been about Blade learning to play better with others (becoming more human) and in three he just gets more friends. The vampires in 3 are a little more on the wimpy side but thats part of the story (no spoilers)... So I don't know. I hope to see it here. Love to see the guy's reactions to movies I enjoy.

Luke Goss as the baddie..... Once a pop star in Bros in the 80s, now one hell of a great actor.

8:23 To be clear, for anyone who hasn't seen the movie before now, Damaskinos here does not say "horrible" virus; he says "parvovirus", a real world virus family known to affect animals like dogs and cats, though there ARE strains that affect humans.

Also cool to add that Luke Goss, who played Jared Nomak and Prince Nuada in Hellboy 2, another Del Toro movie, also played Frankenstein's monster in the miniseries. Everything's coming full circle.

The guy from 3:37, is a Spanish director and actor, Santiago Segura, friend of Guillermo del Toro. The phrases he says in x language are actually advertising for his (in that year) next movie and friends "Torrente 3" "David Trueba"
