I don't think he's been drinking and snorting cocaine like Connor though. I think he stays very very fit and he's probably training martial arts regularly. I think Connor has been lifting weights and having his mind on other things. Fighters always seem to lose when they start having their mind on other things I think Michael's life is fighting.

I'm going to wrap it up with this thought as well, more time in the ring doesn't make a fighter more likely to win. Look at all the damage fighters like Donald Cerrone or Tony Ferguson took after having a lot of fights. Look at Justin Gaethje now with his nose and KO. These fighters leave a piece of themselves in the ring each time. Tell me which fighter between McGregor or Chandler has had more head damage. Chandler is dreaming if he thinks he's the fresher fighter.

Now people like islam and oliviera who have dominated the division is a whole another thing. Chandler just wants this fight because he is on his way out the door close to retiring. What does anyone want before retirement? Chandler fought everyone else going forward in a ‘fire fight’ calls out mcgregor and basically says he’s going to wrestle him. He’s clearly not that confident he can beat him on the feet. • @robertzm

Chandler doesn't necessarily mean 100% wrestling focus. Mixing in takedowns, takedown threats and putting McGregor on the ground in bottom position eating GnP is a smart strategy especially since McGregor tends to gas early and wrestling is way more tiring than striking. The question is whether Chandler can control his penchant for a striking brawl vs. employing a mixed martial arts brawl approach where he has better odds. Straight striking match favors McGregor given the reach advantage, better accuracy and a history of landing big counter-punches on opponents who leave themselves open by winging big punches.

In a fight we know better than to ever count anyone out, especially mcgregor - it should be fun to watch. I doubt the leg is an issue, i had a similar injury myself in France but mine was twice the break at least as my leg went 360 degree round itself and my foot nearly fell off if it wasn't for skin and muscle etc holding it on, my bone came out through my ankle and also out below my knee and between the two compounds it was like a crushed biscuit on the x-ray, they rodded me from the knee down and my leg is stronger than ever - not knowing how far up his leg the break stopped i wonder did they rod him or use external fixings and allow his bone to heal naturally? I would hope he was pinned and plated at least. If he went through surgery and had metal i believe the strength is better based on my own experience at least

I believe he has the ability regardless of what has happened he just has to bring it out of himself. Essentially he will only be a shell of the man that won the first two champions in UfC. Not even a hot take, the events that saw conor rise to superstardom were wildly fortunate in his favour. Obviously his charisma and veil of invicibility got him to the pinnacle but hear me out. Conor started to plow through his division at a time when it was relatively top heavy. He startched aldo in a fight where 9 other times out of 10 he gets outclassed. And then fights nate diaz who in all reality wasnt even an elite martial artist at his all time peak. My umbrealla point being, conor took over the sport at a time when skills werent what they are today and did so with a little luck. Not taking away from his legacy, just food for thought.
