periera litterally knows his fights will never go 5 rounds so he just stays on his back to conserve energy instead of trying to escape. its honestly insane. 2 weight world champion in best kickboxing promotion, come to mma, 5 world champions and 2 weight champ in 7 fights is one of the greatest sports feats of all time. definitely up there with ohtanis 2021 or 2023 season. absolutely have never seen anything like it before in my life in any sport

Ya he doesn't try to get up. He in on energy saver mode doesn't mean he don't know wresting. If those guys try submission he will just keep his hands between the chin and pull guard. Plus he is strong as nail. Wrestlers probably will be tired trying to work this guy under guard. And he kicks on the calf using his heels when on guard, Next round you will feel that shots

@@cricketcavalry1824 I completely forgot to add calf kicks in my comments and it needs to be said because he will literally sit on his back, and then the very next round just kick you until the lead leg shuts down which eliminates the takedowns anymore basically and now your fighting him on the feet with one leg. I agree with you too I think anyone who wrestles him spends more energy on the ground than he does

4-1 pantoja was correct. Wasn’t a close fight despite some close rounds.. pantoja was clearly winning the whole way… it was a case of seeing the underdog perform okay that boosted it because he was viewed as an undeserving of the title shot - underdog against a legit champ
