Birkenstocks are difficult to break in. You want to keep them forever after breaking them in. Replacing the footbed if the foot has already developed a form would be inappropriate . If a customer requests replacement footbeds, I will advise them to buy a new pair of Birkenstocks since they will require the same amount of time to break them in. Please let me know if you need any further explanation.

Wow, I never would have imagined that's how you would fix the crumbling cork at the heel of a pair of Bostons. Now I wish I had a belt sander! What's the brand name of the contact cement you use, if I may ask?
