*Toe taps, also known as toe plates, are small metal caps or plates that are screwed onto the bottom of leather-soled shoes to protect the toes from wear and extend the life of the shoe. They are usually flush with the sole and the sides of the welt, so they are usually not visible unless you look directly at the sole.*

They do look really good. However, I'm curious, what's the point of sewing the midsole to the fake plastic melted on welt. The original yellow stitches aren't even structural. But the rebuild attached to them like they're not prone to failure themselves? The boots look 100 times better than they did before. Cobbler knocked it out of the park. But I just don't understand.

The original welt is rubber with yellow stitching, which secures the uppers to the insole. Simply adding midsoles without stitching won't hold them in place. However, adding midsoles and stitching them to the welt will ensure durability. We also offer an option to replace the entire welt with a leather one if desired. Switching to a leather welt will result in well-structured and high-quality boots.

Yes, i understand that. The original yellow stitches are purely decorative. They don't actually attach the boot to anything. It's melted together with a hot knife. The original welt is literally only held to the boot by being melted and fused together. I guess, that's my concern. What you did instantly made them better! By all means, i applaud your work. Adding the cork filler, actually giving the boots a shank, gluing, and sewing them together. They're instantly more durable than they were. You vastly improved the boots. Do you worry that the original welt will fail over time, since it's just melted together? The customer wants, what the customer wants. I get that. Going full leather welt, and actually sewing a true 360 Goodyear welt where the stitches are actually structural would be the best way. I know not everyone wants to pay for that. I'm glad you offer that as an option! You should have convinced them, that's the way to go. Lmao. Thank you for taking the time to answer me. I appreciate that. Keep putting in the good work making bad boots better! I'm going to check out more of your work! @@KWSHOEREPAIR

The proper way to repair them. First time on one of these videos of seeing someone McKay in a midsole ,, 😊 usually the young people spray some stuff on and just stick on a soul expected to stay there forever without a proper foundation. 🎉😊
