Sir what if his atropin is still acting and he cant accomodate so 6/18 is achived ....adter 2 day his accomodation become normal what to do now as in hospital we pour atropin on that day and check...

Hi , sir I have a doubt can I use + 1.00 sph for every patient if not how I will calculate fog lens power? 6/18 line is equally clear or blur with readable is it OK?

We can use both ..depends on visual acuity.

Sir what if the pt is amblyopic and in those situations where one eye bcv is 6/6 and other bcv is 6/9.. What to do in those situations?

Contraindications of Binocular balancing. 1. Amblyopia 2. If corrected visual acuity is 3 lines difference.

In young age accommodation exert excessively..so more fogging lens is applied to relax accommodation..and in adult age vice versa ..hope it's clear.

Dear Peter.. The purpose of fogging is to relax accommodation.. And you knkw very well that we use cyclopentolate drugs in eyes to perform eye test in children less than fifteen years of age to relax accommodation and these drugs totally relax accommodation. And in subjective refraction in adult more than 15 years of age we use fogging lenses of +1.50 diopter and as age is growing we use ess power of foggi g lenses as Amplitude of accommodation always become less with passage of age.. Hope it's clear.

The reason why we need to perform binocular balancing..is to balance or totally relax accommodation in both eyes..

Sir if after adding 0.25 with plus one sphere, if the patient still reads 6/12 then we can again increase with 0.50 right ? Our goal is to make it 6/18 ? Same as fan and block chart right ?

Yes dear Rohan.. If patient still 6/12 with +0.25 then we will increase the fog...to make visual acuity 6/18..becaus eour target is 6/18.

Because a specific power of fog cause specific range of blurring.. A +1.50 DS fog cause 3 lines blurring.. For example if a person having Visual acuity 6/6.. If placed 1.50 of fog then it will make 3 lines blurring. Upto 6/18
