My mom spent the late 70s and early 80s in Hollywood every weekend... I know this because I was asleep outside in the car ...just before sunrise she would come out and we would drive home to Manhattan beach .. x was her favorite band.. it's all she played at home.
The man behind the guitar, what a joy. Saw X in Bellingham Washington at a WWU cafeteria after the release of More Fun In The New World, hardly anyone there but they rocked their asses off. Thanks BZ, an original forever
Billy Zoom Zoom....What a Cool Dude.
'Pearl Jam's a big deal to a lot of people.' So is X.
Saw both cramps and X separate times in Tijuana at Iguanas...what a ride...walk across the border etc...

What a rad place to see those bands!
I could watch about 3 hours of this
The cramps !!!!!😍🤘🏻
OMG!!! That was awesome!!!🤯There's nothing better than having a legendary guitarist sharing stories while having cocktails at a bar!!! Thanks Spike!!! That was cool!!! 🤟🎸😎🗿🍹🤙
Billy has a great point about The Cramps "trying to be weird". Both Lux and Ivy were former hippies who got into punk as a "art thing".
Spike, I can't thank you enough for these videos. Look forward to them every week!!!

Rob In The 805 thanks for saying so. I'm glad that you enjoy them.
So lucky, doing rad graphics and hanging with an absolute legend
Bring back Mom for part 2, please. Thank you.
Thank you for part two of this time with Billy Zoom.
Awesome conversation. Great video spike!
Laughing now because I was at that Hootenanny, in the audience. Lux slashed his tights with one of Ivy's high heels during the set, and I don't think he anticipated how much the fabric, once it wasn't being pulled taut, would shrink. Pretty sure he also drank out her her shoe during that show too. I actually ended up with heatstroke at that show and parts are pretty fuzzy lol. The audience got an eyefull lol.

Why did you not invite me! you not my buddy, buddy! covid not an excuse, well maybe it is, but.......
Billy, we love you but you're drunk, time to go home,
I’ve seen many of the “greats” in damn near every genre, including many “guitarist’s guitarists”. If rock ‘n’ roll is about snotty riffs, lightning fills and full-throttle solos, than I’d be hard-pressed to think of a better guitarist. Christ, the “True Love Pt. 2” riff alone manages to be snotty, in-your-face and slinky all at the same time…nice trick. Too bad it’s in service of such a silly song.
