Such a treat listening to these sounds and songs from Lux & Ivy's vast collection of vintage roots rock and roll! Really helps to understand the Cramps deep musical history and vocabulary. Lux:"There's too many hot tubs in CA. There's too much to do besides Rock and Roll on the west coast" haha... This is your chance to listen to records with these 2 people. Priceless. Miss you Lux...

There's not really one monolithic "American" accent, as our country has a bunch of regional cultures, each with their own flavor, style, and speech patterns/accent. I would imagine that the same goes for many other nations all over the world. But I think I get what you're saying -- you're probably referring to the twangier accent(s) that frequently pop up in the American South.

Same thing with me back in jr high in a Hicktown. Me all into Punk, and everyone else all into some Warrant, whatever other stupid hair band on the radio singing about some basic blonde b*tch or the rest all listening to some Garth Brooks, Achy Brakey, other dumb top 40 country crap.....and me jammin some Black Flag. Till the one really cool Punk girl moved down from Maine, and she'd rather be with jocks, users, and generally anyone else that treated her like trash, plus other losers that talked her into robbing some convienant store when I couldn't catch her eye. Funny enough I once read Poison Ivy say they liked early Led Zep (first album only), likely because it still had Yardbirds residue. And also said she loved the Brian Jones era Rolling Stones. The only reason she nor Lux ever pick them during their radio apperances is well obvious...don't they get played enough!
