Billionaires ABANDONED 1984 Time Capsule Mansion FROZEN IN TIME ** PATRICK BATEMAN’S HOUSE?!?!**

Ойын-сауық

this large, 4500 square-foot home was custom built in 1985 for the cost of just under $800,000.
It has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a large kitchen and family rooms, and one of the coolest, retro staircases i have ever seen!
This is a great example of mid 1980s wealth. It is a great example of the modern architecture of the time period.
The architecture inside this home reminded me of the apartment belonging to Patrick Bateman in the movie American psycho, hence, the title of the video.
these are some of my favourite type of homes to explore. these original, untouched gems from the 1980s.
unfortunately, it is most likely this house will be lost to demolition, and replaced with a new mansion as it sits in a prestigious neighbourhood surrounded by other new mansions.

What an awesome place. This house was very modern and very expensive in the 80s. I do see upgrades, very well done! I'd take this house in a heartbeat, and I wouldn't change a thing! Keep em coming Ethan!

Ethan, your videos have always been some of my favorite. A couple years ago I showed one to my mother and she was instantly a fan as well. She would constantly ask me if you had a new house to watch and it was something that we enjoyed doing together, as she grew up in western NY and a lot of the houses you show are very similar. She passed away a couple days ago, and I know she would want me to continue watching your videos and loving them still. Thank you for all of the joy that you brought to her. You have no idea how happy you made her with something so simple. -Elizabeth

I think there's more to this property than a 1985 new build. The garage is built using pre-1960s methods - the roof sheathing is individual boards, not plywood. When we see the basement, the area with the furnace is almost guaranteed from the 50s or 60s. You've got the patterned wallpaper right inside, and look closely at the green door at 15:49: the handle style well predates the 80s and it appears to be a solid wood door. You can also see where the concrete was cut to make room for the ductwork feeding the far side of the house. I suspect the garage, laundry, kitchen, and front sitting room (and the bedrooms above) are the footprint of an original house that was added onto and heavily renovated in the 80s.

Really unique and cool house. I don’t know why someone would knock it down and build something else. I think it would be fun to live in this house. Love the very different layout. Those marble floors expensive and there was so much of them throughout. This home seemed well maintained and almost spotless. Like the kitchen with its pop of color red sink. Love all the windows overlooking backyard and the sunroom feel. Hope it got the afternoon sun. Back yard with the pool was beautiful. Unique staircase leading up to fun layout. All the skylights were great. Master bath so cool. The little bathroom in basement was unexpected but cute with the wallpaper. I would live there in a heartbeat and would only need to add some color and warmth with furniture and area rugs. Overall this house captured my imagination. Sad to hear that another gorgeous home will be destroyed. Ethan you certainly find the coolest homes to share. This was a fun one! Take care be well and stay safe.

This was an incredible place! I totally love the style of architecture and the features and materials, of this '80s modern home!🤩 The black marble, and all of the bathrooms were really nice! The windows and design allowing for all the natural light was incredible also! That was a serious amount of tract lighting!! I know it was popular in that era, but I don't think I've ever seen so much of it in one home and in every room. Great explore!✌️

Did tile & marble for astronauts & sports figures throughout the 80s, so this makes me extremely nostalgic. I imagine few of the mansions still stand, as they occupied a lot of valuable land, that’s even more valuable today.

Hi Ethan WOW! What a cool place. The people who lived here must have really cared about this house. They left it clean with the exception of the wall oven and one toilet bowl. Really clean. It’s funny how they never close the pool when they know they are moving. That kitchen was cool, nice and big. Those black marble floors were beautiful and expensive I’m sure. It’s a shame they will demolish this lovely house. It has so many nice features. Although I really don’t care for track lighting. Nice find on your part Ethan. You always give us your very best and this was one of them. Keep yourself safe and stay well.👍🆒 Happy Holidays to you Ethan!🎄

The house has the feel of an 80s home, I was just thinking of the soundtrack that would have played there. Modernist touches throughout the family living spaces. The Marble was outstanding. the only way the master bath would be cooler, would be a red whirlpool jet tub.

A very sweet house. It’s beautiful. I love the layout. The 80’s were exciting bring a touch of the old themes and a bold intro to the new era opening up. Those logs in the living room fireplace were has logs. It was a gas fireplace. I loved that black marble floor, also called an onyx floor. Loved how you brought back the coveted peace sign with “Waz up guys?” It connects with your audience Ethan. It distinctly is your brand marker. Bedrooms were nice and spacious. Master bedroom was wonderful especially with the en-suite bathroom. The windows and scenery-que Bella! I saw you admiring those intercoms Ethan. At their height of popularity. I can see you in that abode Ethan. You fit it well! Thank you for this very enjoyable explore. 😊

Gorgeous home that, once again, is so sad to see that it's slated for demolition. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the black marble. The white streaks within it would make my OCD think that it needs to be cleaned all the time. If you notice, that ledge you showed going back downstairs near the end of the video looked to have a least one, if not two, outlets so I'm picturing some sort of Christmas tree there for the holidays. Great video, Ethan ... thanks for sharing with us!
