How did you misquote something that was right here to make your own meaning lmao. He said "I try to stay just ahead of my depression". As in, he knows it is looming over his shoulder and sometimes catches him. It is really quite dark, so is the following statement about his demons. It is funny when he says it, but he is very aware of his hateful thoughts and doubts, and feels like he has to make a conscious effort to better himself. Not the greatest way to live life, but he is aware at least and works on himself.

That Steve Jobs bit really is one of the best, just like his bit about Arnie. I love how he attacks both sides, but especially the right, because that is really rare in his group of comedians (people who were on O&A), so I think it has more of an effect. Legend.

As he answered the question about whether or not he's political, and then talking about corporations in that answer, it made me realize Bill really is kinda his generation's Carlin. (And then I googled "Bill Burr George Carlin" because I was like, no way am I the first person to think this, and sure enough, there are plenty of columns and articles written with that as the thesis... so, I may not be original, but at least I'm not alone!)
