Biggest Nazi Academy is an Abandoned Soviet Ghost Town today

Urban Exploration: Former military base turned into Soviet ghost town (English and German subtitles are available!) Episode #149
Constructed by the Nazis, this former military area near Berlin is a ghost town today. Back then, this was a restricted zone, and soldiers made sure no civilian came near the place. And today? Still a restricted zone. But at least you will not get shot anymore if you try to enter the area. Planned by the Kaiser, greatly extended by the Nazis and mostly used by the Red Army this military area was home to soldiers from three different empires. When the last units moved out 25 years ago, they left behind deserted buildings everywhere. Although the Soviet army was taking everything with them, there are still traces that remind you of the everyday life behind the Iron Curtain. Join this exploration to see what is left of what used to be the biggest military training area in the country. #urbex #abandonedplaces #bwturbex

My stepdad was from Dresden Germany, and was a young boy during the war. Somethings he would talk about, others he would not. Never waste food, work hard and never let anyone take your freedom. I miss him and tell my children those stories so they to will learn from the past. Thank You for sharing. Keep up the great videos.

@@bwturbex This is an interesting question. It depends what the documentary is about. If this is about filming your everyday life when you are doing the trip, maybe it would be more like a vlog, as The Proper People are doing in their separate canal (I think you know them...). It would be nice, but for me a documentary would be more like something structured to show and explain the way you chose your targets, prepared your trip, do the shooting, maybe do the editing choices and video editing process, .... I don't know if this is something easy or even possible. Anyway, I think that either way, people will like it!

Just beautiful!! You guys are just so good! Everything was perfect, I know that is an extreme amount of effort. When I was teaching, I made a lot of instructional PowerPoints and they took hours, because I wanted them to be absolutely perfect and the history that went with my images had to be just right for all the different ages of children I taught. I especially liked seeing the ladybug fly away. You capture things that others might overlook, but it adds so much to your videos. Sending you good vibes and hoping for the happiest and healthiest of days for all of you.❣️

As usual, a very professional job done under that quilt?, Sleeping bag?. It doesn't matter how you get there, because once you get there, it seems so much more than you expected. I think that is why you are doing what you are doing. All urban exploration teams sooner than later experience this, and you are then addicted to the history, and the determination of the ones before us. Your English is spotless. I think that some explorers dream of the day that they might work with you.

Yep, it's a quilt ;D Thanks a lot for your awesome feedback. You're right about the addiction of Urban Exploration. For me personally it is the exploration itself that fascinates me. In most of peoples everyday lifes they don't explore any new paths or unknown locations. Even in foreign countries Google maps leads our way. So diving in those forgotten places and capturing their atmosphere and history is something you can't compare to any other activity. Best regards and see you next time! :) Till
