NO BEDROOM FOR ME!!!! I am 74 and a Cancer survior (in remission).Doctors do not want me to live along, but I need my space. I am also a recliner sleeper since Cancer and I just bought a double loafted barn style Shed built to code it is a 12X32, 28 foot inside with a 4 foot porch. I am blessed as my Grandson can complete everything, and it is on his property. about 50 foot from him and he is building a ramp that I get get up and down with a walker to his door. BEST OF ALL, MY FRONT PORCH!! My Grandson is going to turn my front porch into a summer screened room and winter removable greenhouse panels CATIO/WINTER GREENHOUSE!!! It is very shady with large oaks trees, The East Sun will hit my porch and I will enjoy full Moon risings also. I will have my rocking chair there and I have my sweet cat companion, of 10 years now. My Grandson has already hurrican strapped it down, and ran the plumbing and electric and has complete the roof insulation It will have paneled walls. we have already puchased a high grade vinyl flooring ( no snap together flooring as that tends to swell if any water is spilled ), we have already got a barn style sink and cabinet base as well as a 3 drawer lower cabinet (my coffee station), and he will stick build lower cabinets as well on opposite wall. I will have shelves above lower cabinets, we have already purchased the air conditioner he will put in the wall (not in window) I will have a front living/sleeping area with 2 recliners, and a center kitchen with bath at back with my stack washer/dryer/closet . It doubled loafted but only for seasonal storage that my grandson, will get down for me as needed. MY GRANDSON IS SUCH A BLESSING TO ME, HE IS GETTING IT DONE FOR HIS GRANNY!!! "All I need". "I AM SO BLESSED" !! ♥Linda you will be blessed also. Keep the faith, as God hears our prayers. ♥

Can you please give us prices or maybe links we can see the cost of things? As you go along? My boyfriend and I are buying land in North Florida and are looking at all your talking about as far as a home. We’re looking for wooded land and no neighbors lol. To put a well so far in land will be at least 10 g.

I don’t know if you decide for a bedroom, but as a nurse I recommend a bedroom. Some day you may need a caregiver and then you would want some separation.

Bedroom yes for resale and for a personal retreat. Tiny house is good. A side door instead of an end door. A porch the length of the house.

I think you should get treatment the discomfort you feel when resting in a bed

At retirement I talked to a tiny home builder and she asked me a series of questions. Turned out I could buy a pre-existing home cheaper than buying land, adding electrical and sewer, and buying a tiny home. I so appreciate her advice. Some of the best I’ve ever gotten. Bought the perfect home for me for cash for $140,000. Now it’s worth $225,000. Good luck.

Hi Linda - glad you are going with stick built. Get a small bedroom for company and/or storage. I have a tiny house built next door to me with a small bedroom, bathroom and livingroom. My neighbor uses it for an airbnb and makes tons of money. It would be perfect for you. Its about 300 sq ft.😊

Definitely get a separate room for your bed and dresser and clothes closet. It doesn't have to be very big. You made the right choice, your tiny home will only increase in value as time goes by, the opposite of a mobile home! You can have a beautiful, quality home without using ridiculously priced items, like I see some people use. You go girl! 😊

U definitely should do a br. I have been in real estate for over 35 years. I have been in new construction for over half of that time. For resale purposes, you definitely need to have a bedroom or preferably two, but if you’re building a Tinyhouse definitely should do 1. You asked our opinion, and that’s mine.

I say yes to a bedroom that you can use as an office for your business or craft room. Your recliner could go in if you choose. It’s nice for storage also. Looking forward to watching it come together.

God gives all His guidance when we listen. I'm 72 and praying for you. Because I've been a nomad before. I loved it but my health is getting worse. So hurry and fix your forever home. Then you can vegetable garden and fix up little flower garden 🌹🌹. I will be praying for you 🙏✝️❤️😇🙏✝️

I hope you’ll put a real bedroom in. I know you sleep in a chair, but you could put the chair in the bedroom. This way you’ll have a much easier way of selling it if it comes to that. I don’t think there are too many people around who want to sleep in their chair in the living room, so by having a bedroom, there are more options.

If you're going stick built you will definitely be doing a bedroom for resale value. A permanent home would be nearly impossible to sell without a bedroom. And if hurricanes are a consideration regarding windows, I'm guessing you're still in Georgia, but closer to the coast.

I’m building a tiny home in my back yard and the company will bring my “shed” and install it for me. Then I want to finish it out!! I’m so excited! I know you are too!!

I used that for reference of different companies based on last video and this one.. the company I chose builds sheds and exteriors of homes to code on a permanent foundation.. I mentioned about cost associated with a real property structure also..which is what I chose

I’m glad you are not choosing a mobile home because near an ocean if you are near a beach there’s hurricanes and in all areas there are tornadoes. The mobile home is not as safe in these storms. This sounds like a safer choice in any climate. And you are getting involved in all your choices re the interior build. Being an active participant helps you stay on top of the situation. Yes B. Because I know how hard of a time you had with storing you business supplies last time in the previous tiny home. A bedroom could be big enough for all of those supplies in one corner of that room, Christmas decor in the 2nd corner, dresser in the 3rd corner and maybe a small closet in the 4th corner of that room. And maybe a twin bed in middle for guests.

I’m very excited for you, Linda. I definitely think stick-built is a better investment. I am doing the same thing right now. Many of the shed builders will build onsite for an extra fee. This has the advantage of being able to put an overhang on the roof and not have to clear so many trees to get the structure onsite. It really worked out about the same expense ultimately. I am having a bedroom added later so I left one wall blank and situated the house on the lot with that in mind. I got the shouse (shed house) built by one company and another contractor is doing all the interior so I don’t have to be tracking down all the subcontractors. I’m building from afar so trying to manage all those guys would be problematic. I also was able to have a higher peak and loft by having the shouse built onsite. Anyway, I’ve been following you for quite a while now and am so happy for you! ❤

It a tiny house....they should no need much negotiating ..it should not be complicated...they should know ahead of time exactly how much time and money this is. And your budget should be set and no need to negotiate...they know how much they need per hour of work...

Awesome.. FYI- Not getting a shed.. stick built on foundation.. the confusion must of lied in how I referred to the 3rd company as a shed builder and a contractor.. though didn’t say “stick built” 😉

It's not a bedroom it's a shop or bonus room. Me I would absolutely project manage an interior build out for myself. Well I did do a career in heavy construction management QA/QC. I can totally understand how you would want someone else doing all of that. You are really organized, but it is important to know how things work together for the best finished product. What ever you decide will be what is best for you and your budget. I am adding prayers for your home base to be perfect for you and within your timeline and budget.
