Good informative video! I have a Phatmoto that I put a 125cc on. I needed a beefier brake system. I looked at the motorcycle brakes and saw the ones that you are using, however I was apprehensive to purchase them because I wasn't sure if they's be compatible. Ordering them now.

I have the same rim and Ghettobike hub setup. When I tighten the rear axle nut snug, the wheel barely spins. I shredded the bearings out of the hub before because it was too tight. Is there a truck to this? It’s such a basic easy setup,I just can comprehend why the wheel won’t spin when the nut is tight. I can send you pics of how I assembled it if you give me an email address. Any help would be appreciated! Oh,I have the Ghettobike front wheel setup and have no problem with that

For my purposes a set of decent v-brakes and some high quality pads is more than enough. Goes from 40 to zero as fast as you need. Once you have everything adjusted you have to take care not to pull too hard else you'll go over the handle bars. Way way cheaper than disk brakes and similarly effective.

That's not to say disk brakes are a waste. You just have to take care to make sure your application actually requires it.

Yeah sure but I guarantee that day a car pulls out in front of you you're not going to stop you're going to hit that car with the amount of weight you have on a regular bicycle with V brakes it's going to blow right through no matter how you have it adjusted no matter what you do it will work and if you take caution will be perfectly fine but the problem is when you're going along and then you have to stop or you're going downhill you're fucked maybe on flat ground V brakes work but you're going downhill you're doing 40 or 60 miles an hour and a car pulls out in front of you you're dead and if you think V brakes are going to bring you back to life and resurrect you then you're wrong
