Chainsaw Carbs for Motorized Bikes (53mph Avenger 85)

Ойындар

I forgot to add more information! Read description please. I feel bad for not adding more information such as what intake manifold to use, what to do if carb won't feed fuel/start the engine, and other things.
Intake manifold that I used is 40 to 47mm intake manifold on eBay.
First, the thumbnail was originally "No Jets Required" I was actually referring to swapping jets like a jet carb. Technically, you CAN do that, if it's not feeding enough fuel, just by pressing them out/in with new jets, or send it to someone/company etc. Or you can drill the jet holes (the diaphragm button part, under there), and probably through the screw holes, but this is risky, it might not create good enough seal all around, and you might risk having stuck metal particles/shavings inside, causing it to not flow very well.
Apparently, if you mess up the tuning somehow (making BIGGER adjustments and not blipping throttle etc) it will cause it to not feed any more fuel and/or to not start. First make sure nothing is damaged, such as the flapper thingy, the gaskets etc, and to not tighten it back together harder which can actually "cut" the outlines of the gasket(s), so be careful. Flush the fuel out completely too, with air compressor or something, just to be safe, then try again. I believe stock adjustments are 1 turn on High, 1 and a half on Low.
The jet carbs, I don't have a lot of experience with tuning them, so that's why I switched to pumper carbs like these just to make it a lot more simple. I just want to go and ride. I am aware that these carbs may eventually start being limited, and may have to switch back to jet carbs, for specific engines. But for now, I'm using chainsaw carbs.
Around 11:55, this applies the same for full throttle, just work on each screws one at a time basically.

    I have to post 2 messages, because this IS SO GAWDAMN IMPORTANT that it NEEDS to be said twice; GET SOME PROPER RIDING GEAR BEFORE YOU RIDE YOUR BIKE AGAIN Bro, you're a KZread gem. The world needs pure hearted guys with a friendly inquisitive child-like nature. That's you, and that's a GOOD thing. If you fk yourself up, this whole thing is over in a moment, and we all suffer without you. So think responsibly bro, please I implore you, get real full size motorcycle riding gear NOW and don't get on that bike again until you have it. Think about the children. Lol. No seriously, my children like your show. And someday you'll have children. So really, do it for the kids. Please hear me

But if You can get the same performance out of it it's worth a try for sure. Like You said NEVER run them Lean or your little motor is History! I really like the way You make Your videos. Very easy to follow and with detailed information is so key! Keep up the awesome work my friend and thanks for posting this video!👍🏁

    The pulse port is the hardest part, on chainsaws etc they often have a hole below the inlet port and a slit down to bottom so you can't lower bottom of inlet much. On Hyundai 2 strokes they have the same hole from manifold but it connects to a drilling leading to base. I just posted a 2ps 50cc engine, 15mm pumper carb with rotary inlet and primer bulb. I have a 4 stroke with a pumper carb - honda gx- the pumper hole leads only to the inlet manifold! Simples! The valve stopping and starting air flow must be enough.

    the intake for a85 is a 40 to "47"mm intake off ebay. The intake for my athena sport (for minarellis) would be off smolik etc. Just figure this out really, like find an intake, route the pulse port if you need, or simply find a carb with an external pulse port barb, for whatever venturi size you need.

  • @breezetixmoto
    @breezetixmotoАй бұрын

    Around 11:55, this applies the same if you do full throttle. So, tune them both one at a time. There are multiple ways of setting up the pulse port. - For a non-reed engine, you simply modify the intake somehow and hook to the crankcase transfer port. You CANNOT combine the pulse port with intake port since the piston will close off the intake at BDC, not giving it any more crankcase pressure. - For a reed-valve engine, if it's a minarelli, simply drill a hole through the bottom of the block (not the top, you'd have to drill through the pedals, so please don't), modify the cage at the bottom (exactly like what I did at 9:30), or simply just drill an L hole, install a barb, hook to the crankcase transfer port, if you do swap cylinders a lot etc. - For a reed-valve engine using G2 or something, you can simply hook it to before the reed valve (as long as it sees crankcase pressure), by the intake area. If you have a windowed/ported piston that is.

    I still don't understand how these work properly btw! When we raced 100cc carts the carbs would fail and seize the engine. You can get pumper carbs where the pulse is fed by a pipe, far easier but I can't find a cheap one.

    Is it really worth getting a different, or even bigger carburetor over the stock one? Like are there any noticable gains? I had a chainsaw carburetor on a hybrid that i built and it ran flawless. I then got an avenger 85 and put it in that engine and it didn't play well. The carburetor was getting too hot and messing with the fuel delivery. But also i had to change out the crank seals because they were faulty out of the box. So i out in new crank seals and just used the stock bofeng with a #65 jet and it runs pretty good. So my question is are there any noticable gains to be messing with another carburetor over the stock? Keep in mind there are no mods, stock exhaust, etc.

    Depends on upgrades and mods, depends on porting, pipe, etc. I'm going to try a stock a85 cylinder on, compare it to my porting, then port it nothing too crazy, then fully port it, I guess. As well as pipe header sizes etc

    Bro, you better get some proper riding gear right fking now. The bike is running great with that carb, and you're moving fast enough to get completely fked up when you come off the bike. Never ride with busted spokes. Go home immediately, SLOWLY. I tuned all my bikes to go slow since I last tuned in to your stuff. Top speed 45mp and that's already fast enough to kill. Seriously bro, full face helmet, gloves, pants, maybe consider some kind of arm/torso gear. Fast is fun, but you have to DRESS FOR THE SLIDE, not the ride.

    THIS! Riding gear literally saved my ass, I had a chain break and get sucked into the rear spokes at 35mph bounced on my ass like a skipping stone across a gravel driveway 😂
