That’s my philosophy. Even if I catch nothing, getting out on a lake is fun and it helps you learn the pattern. When the water is really high or really low, the patterns can change drastically. You got a nice one.

the solix series have been having some serious issues for some people kind of thought hummingbird would of had that fixed by now. The helix's are a lot of more reliable.

One of my co-workers fish this lake and says it's good fishing there. Have you ever been to Gibbons Creek in Carlos, Tx? Great bass fishing there and at Houston County lake in Crosby, Tx.

It's a monopod screwed into the console!

I've fished every square foot of Rayburn and Toledo Bend, there are still many big ones left. Im a catch and release fisherman at both places due to the high toxin levels in the waters like lead, mercury and phosphorus. I won't eat anything out of those lakes. I have a 15 acre piece of property and lake house right on Rayburn lake and go there 3 weeks During the summer to fish my butt off. Going soon, maybe we'll see each other out there.

That ramp is so annoying how the boat parking is so far away from the ramp lol😂

Just a thought. If it's wet/cold enough to wear a rain suit, one might consider investing in a pair of goretex shoes/boots. There's an old hurting adage that I have heard and found to be true, "No matter how tough you are if your feet get cold you're pretty much done." Warm dry feet could give you the edge to catch that one fish you need to win the tournament

Tyler, when your fishing Rayburn where do you stay ? I have been searching far and wide for a decent place on rayburn. Rayburn Inn looks nice and secure but want to have more options. Many places have seen their best days. Thanks.

,@@GearyLongThanks Just got back from a trip to Rayburn last week. Booked a cabin less than a half mile from Monterey Park boat ramp. I had been planning to stay at Rayburn Inn which is close to the dam, but opted to try a place that offered more seclusion and security.

There's a place to fish in Texas and most will never hear about it. Fayette county. We hauled in one 5 pounder after another. We used water dogs, so it was definitely cheating, but fun nonetheless. I actually caught a 6 pounder on an Ultra light 3 lb test line. Its a hard story for people to believe but absolutely true.. I wasn't even fishing for Bass. Was trying for catfish using worm..
