You know what I find highly interesting, almost nobody talks about the ENDURANCE of these SSD's over performance. I've come across other review videos and the difference in performance is literally milliseconds but the endurance shows massive differences. I don't know about everyone else but I want to buy something that will last longer over what claims to be fastest right now.

unless you are downloading Terabytes worth of games everyday even the worst endurance SSD will outlast the PS5 you put it in

Hear, hear. But vids like this one are made with lazy research. Take this vid for instance. He claims that samsung 990 pro is available in 1 and 2 Tb versions. No mention that there is a 4 Tb. If its so important that I watch a vid before i buy then for the love of *****, make it accurate! :)

Well, I would have loved the WD Black but I would have wanted the 4TB. Seagate? With my data? I don’t think so. If you value you data forget that witch. I went with the Kingston FURY Renegade 4000g PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD with heat sink. (4TB). Not gonna lie. It’s pricy but moving 10 PS5 games took about 10 minutes. Playing games directly from this drive is crazy. Especially the VR games. Glad I waited a few years to get it. It’s a beast.

The 990 sansung is a good opcion is 7450 more that wd black is just 7300

Not sure where you got your prices, but at least in Europe you are way way off. Basically every 2tb disc you mention can be bought well under 200€. Bought the 2 tb firecuda on Friday for 135€ on Amazon. No Black Friday pricing either…

I just bought 2 Samsung 990 Pro 2TB with heatsink for $139 US each for PS5s at Best Buy on Black Friday sales and they both clocked read speeds over 6500 in 2 different consoles. Show me a better bang for buck…. The Samsung needs to go up the list.

Is there a manufacture date after which I can know a 990 Pro 2TB has the latest firmware update and not the problem firmware? I bought one in the Black Friday sale as a gift for my son but I don’t have a personal PC I can check or update the firmware on - my work laptop is locked down and I only have an iPad Pro for my personal use. I don’t want to give him something that will brick. Thanks.

I’m considering about getting a solid drive. I’m on the fence between Samsung and WD Black. I’m thinking longevity, so I do want to hang onto the PS5 for another 6 to 7 years. I’m leaning towards Samsung.

WD Black are the best drives. I have never had one crash on me after 2 Dell computers crashed. I then started building my own computers in 2010 with WD drives. 5 year warranty. Samsung sometimes has weird software issues with their drives.

I picked up the Samsung 990 PRO to go with my PS5 Slim, paid $139 for 2tb model, definitely fast as advertised, totally recommended if your in the market.

Got XPG S70 2TB for 114usd on Amazon sale

I have a Seagate + sabrent heatsink for over a year now.. It was fine at first but lately my games intsalled in it becomes laggy and transfer rates from sragate to internal ps5 ssd are significantly slow like 5+mins for like 30gb. Planning to reformat it and see if it will resolve the issue.

How, it's 250$ without heatsink

Bought the WD Black and Samsung 990 4tb versions and ultimately stuck with the Samsung. It seems to fit in my PS5 Slim a little better or it feels like its connected better. Only thing i noticed was that the WD was a little faster when it showed my read time after installing.

It just depends on how much storage capacity you’re getting. The 2TBs should be more than enough for most users

FireCuda 530. The 990 Pro has firmware issues, Google it. I also have the WD SN850X, both 4TB. The FireCuda is Superior. I have a SK Hynix Platinum p41 2TB as well, it is amazing too, but they do not make it in 4TB

Nextorage is your best budget ssd. Faster read speeds and 2tb with heatsink is 130cad

Because it’s a gen5 card and ps5 has a gen4 slot. It won’t do much better than a gen4 SSD in the PS5.

I would NEVER buy any Seagate HDD, SSD or any other storage, it never is reliable. Also hyper x belongs to HP which is one more trash. Better choose a crucial m.2 or an hynix m.2 which is one of the fastest in the market on gen4

@@2010johno For me, it's not an issue. I only use it on PS5, and DRAM-less SSDs like Lexar are cheap and good.
