I don't think it's that while it has some reality to the problem but its the fact in my opinion that A. the mentality of cars can be replaced minset and not cherishing it plus the amount of unroadworthy or unisured cars are becoming such a problem that driving is a game to these drivers as they have no investment put into the car and it'll just get scrapped anyway, also point B. is foreigners that think they know the road system then pass the test safley then proceed to drive like maniacs from wherever they came from. At the point where you "being in the right" risks an accident you stop "being in the right". Just because what someone did is wrong doesn't excuse you to then make a point out of it and endanger yourself or others to do it.. Absolute madness. Its people like that which are going to inevitably ruin cycling for everyone with their complete lack of perspective and weird, frankly broken mindset that the highway code doesn't seem to apply to them. Quick hint for my fellow cyclists - you are beholden to the rules of the road you have no problem following in your motorised metal box when you are on your pedal boi smh.
Wow, that was a marathon! I normally avoid videos over 20 minutes, but as it's a holiday.... Very interesting, there is so much to take in. In 1972 I bought a new BMW (yes, I'm an old man) and thought I was king of the road, it seems that still applies to BMW drivers! In many of these situations there is contributory negligence, where one driver is 20-30% at fault. If they had a more defensive attitude there would be no incident.
#22 I hope they sent that clip to the police. #56 When I saw that truck indicating I thought the cammer was going to drive down the side and get taken out. I gave a sigh of relief when he held back on to get a little jump scare at the fiat.
No 22, driver should have his license taken away for driving at the cyclist like that
2:08 actually the cyclist and motor cyclist should be aware of the possibility of pedestrians crossing anywhere on the road, especially since there’s a bus stop on the left. There could have been a designated crossing place (dropped kerb with paving slabs that are textured with raised bumps). There’s a gap of several yards between the car being overtaken and the next car in front, which would suggest that the car at the head of the stationary queue had stopped for several seconds, possibly to let a pedestrian cross in front of them. The cyclist should have wondered why a car was halted when there’s a clear gap in front of them.

Not only bad, illegal to. Revoke the driverslicens from the driver...
I stated my agreement with HLW on #34 in the original video with it, and I still agree now. Comments ranting their disagreement get screwed, I'm not keeping my baby stationary on a dual carriageway. I'd definitely try to signal this to the other party though, to try to avoid a bit and run claim. Because yes, legally you stop at the scene. But the law can get screwed when it jeopardises the safety of my child.
rule no1. if you see someone do something stupid, stay away from them or get away from them as fast as you can. I reminded myself of this rule today on a motorway roundabout, lorry in front of me going over the lines into my lane ahead of me, i know there is a narrow exit for the 2 lane exit off the roundabout so i stayed back. Watched him exit, and lo and behold he is in the middle of both lanes pretty much bang centre of the white lines. If i'd continued next to him he probably would have pushed me off the road or crashed into me. I overtook him a few seconds later on a straight part of the road. always drive defensively because it will save you time, money and a headache.
#19 Rule 79 states: "Do not ride across equestrian crossings, as they are for horse riders only. Do not ride across a pelican, puffin or zebra crossing. Dismount and wheel your cycle across."
Cammer purposely blocked the cyclist. But 10/10 for the cammer that let the truck pass even if they did nearly get hit for it. Also, cammer that didn't let the car rejoin traffic after pulling over for police car is a dick.
That was some instructor in the first clip. What a numpty
Which is the best dashcam to use?
No 9 - crucial to this one was whether the camera car had signalled his intention to turn right , and in a timely manner ; if not signalling , his motion to the left would have suggested he was going straight ahead . Video does not show reflection of signals .
5:50 It's hard to steer when you're on the phone.
Number 2 - pretty sure the cammer was distracted by the cyclist who was trying to rejoin the road at the lights without checking traffic (pretty sure the cyclist was waiting for the Audi to turn assuming they would not move until the road behind them was clear and thus safe for the cycllist to mount), but the Audi was entirely obscured by the other silver car during the whole approach

3:08 the answer is "the tailgater is at-fault". People might tap their breaks. They could do it accidentally. They could do it in confusion. They could have a slightly detached retina and are responding to a shadow that doesn't exist. A person who drives in such a way that other people NOT making a mistake is the only thing keeping them safe is usually to blame, even if the other person made a mistake. Mistakes happen, and if you drive in a way that assumes they won't, then any time you drive and don't crash is simply lucky.
The Maestro is probably written off with that dent…

Being a cyclist, in my opinion the incident at 5.07 where a cyclist ran into a car emerging from the junction seems like a deliberate collision on the cyclist’s part. The car driver was in the wrong but the cyclist had loads of time to slow down, he should have been aware of the car emerging from the junction. I’m sure some cyclists cause themselves harm due to all the rules surrounding them and are of the opinion ‘I’m always in the right’ attitude.
#16 is my favourite kind of moron...drives like an idiot in slow traffic. And still ends up behind the vehicle he was in such a rush to get past
#61 Cyclist had long enough with the pedestrian in view to slow down earlier despite speeding up the blind side of the cammer's van. He tried to cut left in front of the pedestrian, pedestrian tried to run out of his path. Wet roads had no impact apart from in the final 2 feet the cyclist actually braked. All responsibility goes on cyclist for aggressively trying to cut through traffic approaching bus stops.
No 10 , ambulance should have been on two tones - also no matter the emergency , drivers are trained to slow right down at unsighted junctions for exactly this reason . Back to ERDTU for him .
24:15 that's bullshit advice, the car was ALREADY TURNING in the correct position. Driving instructors ALWAYS tell you to turn the wheel, partially, then move off slowly to begin safely.
The comment on #80 gets it completely wrong, by assuming there are two lanes on to the roundabout and off again at the exit, but looking at the laning on the roundabout this is not the case. There are two lanes going around, the left for making exits, and the right for continuing around, aka a "standard roundabout". This means that regardless of the fact the exit in question is a dual carriageway, you must be in the left lane for exiting there, regardless of which lane on the DC you plan to use. The left lane has two purposes here, exit and continuing around. While unconventional, it is permissible to stay in the left lane all around this roundabout. The lorry proceeds onward, as is acceptable, and the red car, in the right lane, attempts to go across the left lane to exit, which is not acceptable. You could argue that the lorry was driving oddly, but in either case, the red car should not have been crossing lanes to exit, it should have been in the left lane too. Compare this with #94, where there are two lanes for turning left, and two lanes at that exit. The lanes are clearly marked for this purpose, and thus anyone in those lanes should ONLY be turning left. To continue straight on in that case is an error. But these two roundabouts are laned completely differently. Not all roundabouts are created equal!
It is common courtesy to give way for emergency response vehicles however, it is also common courtesy to allow traffic to rejoin the carriageway not to mention good manners. Cammer is wrong in my opinion.
that one in harlow 4:44 happens very often, surprised no one has been killed yet
Video 5. BOTH the cyclist and the motorbike were riding within the Chevron marked double white lines which is against the highway code. You are only allowed to enter this if strictly necessary ( for example o performing a turn) and only for as long as necessary to perform such a manoeuvre. Both were using it as an extra lane which is NOT allowed. Cyclist was therefore at fault.

3.21 The tailgating car was at fault 100%! Yes the red car braked, but was entitled to do so. There could have any number of reasons for them to brake. It's pretty simple.... if you can't avoid hitting the car in front when they brake, then you're too close, simples!
no 19 - blue van overtaking lead vehicle at pedestrian crossing - that is a specific offence and an automatic 1 year ban , more with the aggravating factor of someone being on the crossing . Hope that went to police or the fiscal office
N0 22 - another cyclist in such a hurry and so bloody minded he won't move to the left , where he should be after overtaking the bus , to allow faster traffic to pass . He probably pulled out into the path of the car to pass the bus without even bothering to check behind . Remember - do not overtake when you yourself are about to be overtaken - far too many cyclists forget that .
No 5 - traffic was stopped , and the van driver may have wrongly invited her to cross in front of him . Cyclist and motorcyclist both in the wrong for speeding down past the queue of traffic . 'Filtering' means to proceed slowly at walking pace , not to tear down at unabated speed and make no allowances for pedestrians , which might include children , to step out at any time . This one is all on the cyclist , but the motorcyclist was just lucky he didn't hit anyone either .

Interesting factoid: Flashing your lights at someone _doesn't_ mean "hey, you can go, I'm letting you go first" as it seems to be commonly believed. According to the _actual_ rules of the road it really means _DON'T GO I'M HERE/APPROACHING_ - the complete opposite of what almost everyone is trying to say when they flash their lights at you. Not sure when people in general switched the meanings over, but a friend of mine actually failed his driving theory test and that was one of the questions he got wrong. It's contextual. When driving it usually a warning, when stopped it's to let people know you will allow them to enter traffic, (not blast off!, as some drivers seem to think). It can be safe provided the entering driver isn't a plonker and still uses caution when crossing. I only let people cross when I can see it's safe both ways, just in case they are the blast off! type. Officially I have no idea what it meant, and can't even recall learning it. (years ago mind you)
no. 12: wonder why the cammer blocked out the details on the van, when they were VERY clearly on display at the start of the clip?
Car at #33 has not been MOT’d since 2014! Also no tax, which was obvious I suppose.
Watching some of these reminds me of Dad saying that many drivers say they've never had an accident but how many have they caused?
Incredibly I have been asked " didn't you see my indicator " , this was when I had right of way , and the other driver was completely in the wrong , luckily my dash cam recorded everything , and the other driver was prosecuted, ......it sticks in my mind , they actuthought that their indicator gave them immunity from obeying the law , because of their arrogance I went to court to see what their defense was , .....they actually said in court their indicators on , and I should have gave way , after a short adjournment the got six points and £450.00 fine 😊😊😊
15:39 keep your calm, follow the car home!!
1:00 It is wrong to suggest that one should not have expected a particular outcome "but who anticipates someone being foolish enough to make a blind turn." The truth is, we should all anticipate such actions because they occur frequently. It appears that the driver accelerates slightly as they approach the traffic lights, and they are not without blame. Moreover, the other car that failed to yield (yes, they are at fault regarding insurance) could have easily been a child riding a bicycle. As a responsible driver, it is crucial to anticipate the behaviour of other road users and understand that they may act inappropriately. If your view is obstructed, you must reduce speed and be prepared to stop, as the other person's foolishness will not serve as a defence in the event of a fatality.
No 25 - cyclist hidden in blind spot behind black car - he is the one going to be injured if he does not take more care to ensure he is visible to other road users - there was a van before the black car - the turning driver had no chance to see cyclist - he needs to learn to anticipate , otherwise he will end up KSI .

@@vlratcliffe1 The car was being driven totally on the wrong side of the road, how did you miss that?
Clip #61 Had it not been for the pedestrian, the cyclist would have run into the bus as he was obviously blind.
It baffles me that people don’t use their horn more. If someone’s pulled in front of you nearly causing an accident, LET THEM KNOW.
#5 the caption seems incomplete wrt updated Highway Code, on giving way to peds waiting to cross a side road: "Rule H2 - Rule for drivers, motorcyclists, horse drawn vehicles, horse riders and cyclists At a junction you should give way to pedestrians crossing or waiting to cross a road into which or from which you are turning."
