I was going to say the same thing. #9 needs to show this footage to the local taxi licensing authority and get this driver off the road as he's a danger to passengers. What was he thinking aiming a laser pointer out the rear of the car and then slamming on his brakes, trying to instigate a collision. At the minimum, the driver deserves a stern talking to by the police and loss of their taxi licence, but really they should be dealt with by the court system for dangerous driving.

7:18 Incorrect, prius driver should have proceeded with caution, they had passed the stop line and were well into the junction to the extent they were completely blocking one lane. As they had passed the stop line prior to a red light, they were perfectly entitled to complete their crossing of the junction under the circumstances. At fault just as much is the police driver not checking for cross traffic, that may have been balked by the proceeding van. You can also lay blame on the vehicle in lane 2 proceeding before the junction is clear, and with an emergency vehicle behind in a hurry (and likely to want to move to the right), which would have enabled the prius driver to see the oncoming police car that was in a lane restricted to turning left only. You can pretty much guarantee that the police driver will have received points on their professional licence for that completely avoidable collision. It is very rare the entire blame for a collision lies only on one party, there is almost always things that other people could have done to prevent a collision.

Councils need to come down like a ton of concrete on taxi drivers. All the "minicab" firms I have seen are like that - no manners, the roads are theirs, park where they like, tailgate, speed, abuse and intimidate, no regard for any road traffic rules whatsoever. They are a menace. In the town I used to live in, back in 2016 a minicab driver ended up in hospital for acting like that. It was in the local news. They are representing a company and are carrying paid passengers. The standards need to be higher and properly enforced, if a bus driver behaved like 99% of cabbies then the police would be on them like eczema. I would personally have taxi drivers immediately suspended if they receive any points or are prosecuted for a motoring offence.

1:00 was just going to say that it's not smart for a "supervisor" to get out and leave a learner in a vehicle by themselves... and whaddayaknow?!

Clip#2. You comment is slightly misleading. There is not an instructor present, only a supervising driver: There is a huge difference between the two. The only qualification you need to supervise is be over the age of 21, have and have been a licence holder for three years. an ADI has had to jump through all sorts of hoops to satisfy the DVSA that they are a fit and proper person to instruct.

Oai, in the USA using a visible light laser (green, usually) aimed at someone's face is a crime. AFIK, aimed at aircraft it's a federal FELONY with some extremely stiff penalties.

Crime over here too, certainly when aimed at a person operating a vehicle. They should definitely forward that guys details to the police!

Don't you just love it when drivers with poor standards of driving are pointed out, they will spend ages and use all sorts of threats to try prove it wasn't.

I love how the first one admitted to slamming on the brakes for nothing then blames the driver behind for hitting them. Not every single time someone hits you is there fault. Sometimes it your own. Braking usually is a gradual stop, not going from 60 to 0 in 2 seconds.

No because if a deer had run out in front then they would have to stop just the same. You should be ready for the person in front to emergency stop at any point when driving.

The crash with the Prius and the police car in Park Lane, was totally on the Prius driver who possibly jumped the lights in the first place. If the police got hold of this footage, that Prius driver will be in more trouble! I will assume the Prius was a PHV? The police will be all over this.

That learner... This is why you take them to an empty spot of a car park to try first. And even then, treat that as a last resort - go with an instructor who can stop the car if need be.

I know merging alternately is the correct procedure but the guy doing all the shouting and beeping at 2.50 is an idiot. The best policy would have been to just allow the Citroen DS into the lane and just carry on. It would have made no difference in the long run to have done so. As it was he almost caused a fight. Also, you never know who you're dealing with if you behave like that.
