Decades ago in the 80's, a Mercedes G wagon decided to overtake on a blind corner in snowy conditions. She crashed head on into me, no injuries but her car was a write off. I hardly noticed the impact, but then again I was driving a 24 ton snowplow.

It’s always sad to see so many people react in a way that puts them in the position of being a danger to everyone else as well. I’ve said it many times; “it was my right of way” is a terrible epitaph. If you lose your temper you lost, full stop. Take a breath, pull in for a break, do whatever makes you calm but don’t drive angry because you’re driving without thinking. There’s no winners, only losers when you’re angry.

Absolutely. I think very little of those cammers who charge into a roundabout and get all annoyed at a driver who enters the roundabout in front of them 'causing' them to vent anger by use of their hrn. In mst cases the driver entering the roundabout had ample room to do so - but not if a cammer choses to accelerate madly. So few of the drivers in the videos have yet to work out what the brake is for. Mind you, I am never going to rent a car in Russia - they are all totally bonkers.

Managed to get a lorry driver fired and banned from driving for 3 years because he stopped on a 60mph road and started REVERSING because he missed a turn to get into an industrial estate! I was in my little fiat 500. I panicked and couldn’t throw it into reverse in time. He didn’t look in his mirrors and ignored my continuous horn for about 30 seconds. This was a 42 tonne lorry filled to the brim. We were lucky it was overloaded (literally half a foot off the ground) as it meant we weren’t crushed to death underneath it. Luckily I had dash-cam footage and my dad had offered to come to the shops with me (I’m a tiny 5’1” female who’d only just pasted my test at age 17). They played the footage in the court - apparently my screaming was harrowing to listen to. Luckily the fiat was just about repairable.

55:14 this markg3650 doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The exit he took to get there says either ‘Works Exit Only’ or ‘Emergency Vehicles Only’. The only people who can pass through them or park in them are emergency services & the highways agency vehicles. He’s taken a truck into it & is using it as a rest area. Earlier on the video, the clip beginning at around 9:59 showed the Highways Agency (rightly) telling him he wasn’t allowed in those areas, now he’s got police officers also telling he can’t be there, and he just gets gobby with them, closes his door/window to them, and has the audacity to write “that’s the policeman illegally banging on my door interrupting a daily rest”, and then tells the police to come back at 11 I’ clock (which is 5 hours after the time in this video). Since when did he get made chief of the roads & no rules apply to him? Hope he loses his licence for his basic lack of knowledge (or deliberate flouting) of the Highway Code. He hasn’t ’defeated’ the officers at all, they’ll report him for the offence of causing an obstruction by parking in a restricted area and on a solid white line. Sheer pig-headed ignorance.

#136, and I think he had one earlier. Ref HGV driver parking at the side of the road and getting shirty with Plod - “From 1 November 2017, DVSA will start to fine drivers up to £300 if they spend their full weekly rest break in their vehicle in places where it causes a problem. For example, if a lorry driver spends their full break in the cab of their lorry in a layby.” In other words, the DVSA wants drivers to be having meaningful rest and recharging time during their breaks, not just more time scrunched up in their cabs. The DVSA states that rest stops can be used in the cab of the vehicle, provided that the vehicle is parked in a suitable location. For a suitable location - read somewhere with adequate toilet, showering and food facilities. So an actual service station as opposed to the side of the road. While this might seem like a trivial distinction, it’s not, and the DVSA are taking it very seriously. So much so that road traffic patrols will be regularly checking common offence spots, and tachographs will now need to be monitored to ensure that rest stops are being taken in approved places.

Totally agree. It's common curtesy in Europe to let a car filter in in front of you that's trying to exit the motorway. The red truck was indicating in time to display their intentions. The cammer should've just eased off the acc, create a safe gap and let them in in front of them without throwing a middle aged tantrum. And that text during the clip Jesus Christ, I've never seen anyone overexaggerate more than this. She was extremely territorial like she owns the exit lane and came across very t0xic. Arrows in a car park: I often find it very hard to work out which way to go, especially when it's wet and the marking are very faded. Also quite often there doesn't appear to be any logic to the arrangement. I can quite see the temptation to go the wrong way for 3m rather than try to work out how they want to take you all the way round to outside to get to the exit.

3:21 is an interesting one legally. My brother once got a Police warning for driving "against the arrows" in Asda carpark, Leicester. We checked with a lawyer to see is this really was an offence - and were told it was a "grey area". What was confirmed is that UK road traffic laws and the highway code do not differentiate between private and publicly owned property - applying to both if they are "designated for use by the public". The grey area was whether the road markings were clear and legally applied.

We were rammed in the back on a bridge by a young chap in his bosses new truck. He was panicking, but we saw no point in making the situation worse, we just worked with each other towards a good outcome for all of us. It's so simple. 0:44 I reckon some people are overly dependent on the road centre line markings to indicate when it’s safe to attempt an overtake. If they see a broken line, they just assume it’s safe to pull out. It’s almost as though they’ve been conditioned not to use their own judgement when it comes to determining how far ahead do they need to see, they just rely on the road markings to tell them, i.e. solid line not safe, broken line is safe.
