    We lived in a very crowded cul de sac where parking was, not an issue, because we all had our own spaces but, definitely a bit tight. I was reversing out at about 4am to go to work and needed to do something of a double s manoeuvre. I misjudged it and just clipped my neighbors car. Talk about mortified! I got out, checked for damage and couldn’t see anything. Nevertheless I’m an honest person so, I wrote a little note explaining what happened, that I’d clipped their car, taken photos and if there was any problem to contact me. Put it through the letterbox and thought no more about it. Next day I got a huge bunch of flowers with a note on saying “Best Neighbour Ever”.

    When it comes to country lanes, my driving instructor had a brilliant way of describing how you should drive. He said “you need to drive as if there’s a dead elephant around the next corner, with the elephant handler sobbing and the whole circus just gathered around jumbo “. That’s what’s around the corner, drive with that in mind. I will just say that “I don’t know what I can’t see around the corner” thinking has probably saved my life more than once.

    The problem is that the people in the vehicles behind don't think like that, they want to reach the target of the speed limit and jot the safe limit per common sense. And then they honk or overtake or similar shenanigans to get ahead by

  • @luketurnbull3712

    @luketurnbull3712

    Жыл бұрын

    Nearly correct - there's a tiny chance that jumbo around the corner is approaching at the same speed as you are driving, rather than in a heap on the ground. e.g. blind overtake. So rather than driving so that you can stop in the distance you see to be clear, you need to be able to stop in half of that.

The car, without question. The car should have realized that the lorry has a limited field of view and also that it needs a wide berth to take said corner, the fact that the car just "went for it" indicates a complete lack of understanding of basic functionality of a motor vehicle means that they should be found to be at 80% fault.... The 20%? well... the lorry is a "Professional" driver and should realize by experience that... that half the population has an IQ below 100.... #31 Seems at first as if the BMW starts matching speeds, and the cammer starts accelerating? Then the cammer switches lanes to tailgate? Followed by the van trying to cutt off the BMW? while not indicating.... possible "swerve" ? Followed by the cammer switching lanes to tailgate and the BMW trying to brake check the cammer? or possibly trying to communicate with the van? Then the van seems to try and switch lanes without checking mirrors? (negligence) or possibly trying to force the cammer off their file? This one is... not intelligent... WAY to much is happening and no one seems willing to create space for error... EVERY ONE involved is at fault here imho... #41. Yea... some times it is the city planners... some times it is the "City council" (replace with regional rule decider of your region) #42. Car behind failed to realize "the meaning of life" #43 Much love. Yes, every one was annoyed, but descent. 95.99% optimal solution. #45 Get the lunney cammer off the road... Less than a sec behind the buss driver... Flashing the buss for not cutting of the other car... I can understand the buss drivers frustration resulting in him double-switching lanes... Other peoples idiocity does not excuse yours... Also remove the buss drivers license for life for deliberately ramming others... None in 45 is driving with a sane minde... #78 "if i did not have the L plate on top of my car im sure this guy would have treated the situation differently" Well... probably... he would most likely have been more of a danger to others and him self... #94. Cyclist taking up the road to an insane level almost resulting in an accident. Sell their bikes and fine them for the cost of other drivers cost for damages of hit/run bicyclists.... The issue is not that they "started to move over" The issue is that they were spread out so severely that they did not even have time to move over... they are the issue... /I ride my bike often... these ones are... 30:25 I had a coach from Candy coaches do exactly this to me but i didn't have a dashcam. Driving wiped his onboard cam and they lied about the situation. This with the police not investigating and getting the highways camera footage meant the dangerous muppet got away with it. I have invested since in a dashcam. I didn't undertake the coach, I was overtaking him and he tried pulling out and tapped my car. I then tried to get him to pull over and he wouldn't. He moved back into the inside lane, started undertaking and once again hit me but worse that time. He then left the scene of the incident. Traffic police lied and the complaints team ignored the evidence showing that he lied. Moral of the story, get yourself a dashcam and don't rely on the police doing their jobs for such things because they are genuinely not interested. Thanks for the Hertfordshire constabulary.

Instead of sending this to KZread, the cammer should have sent it to the Police as there is more than sufficient evidence to take the BMW off the road for a while. Feel bit sry for how the car at 1:26 was singled out. The cammer carried way too much speed off the highway junction. A car infront of them turned into the petrol station, and the cammers car closed on them very quickly, so they were already going too quick to be able to safely react from hazards. Tricky junction, straight from highway into a built-up area, and vehicles having difficulty exiting the petrol-station and driveways is to be expected there, so more caution required. Still also a great evasive swerve tho 😅

BUT in this instance you did it for safety reasons (check up on it, your in the clear) the driver then accelerated, the bus should not be going faster than 56mph ... but it looked like it was exceeding 60mph (endangering passengers, speeding) and he purposely moved into lane 1 to try and cause you to brake suddenly, but given where it happened the driver struck you, no matter what you say in the video .... the bus driver is to blame 100%
