In my hunt for the ultimate sounding Mini Cooper, I quickly realized that the only way I would get the best sounds out of my Mini was going to be by finding the best intake system on the market.
The biggest challenge to state a claim like "this is the best Mini Cooper intake system" you have to be able to back it up. So what makes the Eventuri intake system the best Mini Cooper intake system? Well a few reasons:
1. The horsepower and torque gains are more than any other intake system on the market
2. The Eventuri intake system adds a functional air scoop which allows for more cool air to be pulled into the intake, adding more horsepower and torque
3. Since it's made from carbon fiber and aluminum bits it's very aesthetically pleasing and it adds a lot of visual appeal to the engine bay
4. The sounds the Eventuri intake system adds to your Mini Cooper are just to beautiful and it really adds to the experience of driving a turbocharged vehicle
So, in my opinion, the Eventuri intake system is BY FAR the BEST intake system on the market for your Mini Cooper and it's worth every penny. By the way, on that note - if you don't want to shell out the money for the carbon fiber version, Eventuri makes a plastic version which is about $700 cheaper than the carbon fiber version.

The F56 doesn’t have a BOV or diverter valve. It has an internal wastegate on the turbo. The flutter you here is not the back pressure or compressor surge on the turbine as some would think. The way the B48 works is that when you release the pedal the Vanos opens the exhaust valves and intake valves to equalize the pressure and dump any excess boost out of the exhaust valves and into the exhaust. The excess exhaust gasses that would be turning the turbine if you were still on the gas is being dumped out of the wastegate flap and under the vehicle. BTW Lohen did a test and it shows that the Eventuri intake reduces the 60-130mph time by .6 seconds.

That's great to know! I had no idea how this system works. I did hear that this is actually a better than a BOV or Diverter valve, to you think that to be true as well?

@@MichaelBertini the Internal wastegate is a newer design. Although, newer iterations of the B48 in BMW vehicles has both an internal wastegate on the turbo and a BOV on the hot side just off the turbo. I thought about adding a BOV on my cold side piping but I really don’t think it’s necessary unless you want to do a full custom big turbo and built motor upgrade.

Did you have to remap the car after install? This is my first time owning a 2014 f56 cooper S and I feel like I’m hearing from dealers that you have to remap it after almost every change?

  • @tbone7844

I heard you can mess up your turbo faster because of the increased pressure if you don’t remap accordingly ?

not a mechanic, but I think the reason it sounds like a flutter as opposed to a "woosh" is because the air from inside the turbo is exiting through the turbine it came in through instead of going through a blowoff or diverter valve. Its called compressor surge. When you let off the gas, the air entering the turbo has to go out in some way, so it rushes past the turbine blades (which are spinning in the opposite direction) makes the flutter noise

It’s called a waste gate. Pretty much all modern turbo vehicles have it built in. Would have been nice in all that talking to mention where the water goes now that you have a hood scoop that’s functional. Or maybe you don’t drive in the rain.

I also have this system. It's very efficient, but you have to review the mapping otherwise you lose power. After the mapping I gained 17nm and above all a better reactivity.

I also did modify my engine 2021 Nissan Rogue installed twin turbo 4 cylinder supercharger produced 490 HP instead of 181 Me and my friend build it Sadly it didn’t go as planned engine blew up and blew oil everywhere and broken engine block and piston That car sat in ten months in driveway We got engine replacement under warranty And my favorite MINI Cooper staying original with few modifications to it

Unfortunately disaster struck in Nissan Rogue motor in that car was completely dead Car still in warranty Nissan gave us the brand new engine for that thing we towed it to local dealer for 3 weeks for repair done to it Possibly I would put the twin turbo in it may cause problems with weak cooling system I would keeping it original for rated 181 maximum can handle 189 HP Me and my friend were laughing after my garage floor filled with oil and coolant I at least won gold medal in car show

It looks amazing however $1700 plus for 3 to 5 horsepowers is absolutely stupid… there are many other things you can spend $1700 on to get definitely more than 3 to 5 hp when you look at all the articles it says a lot more horsepower but that’s where the stage one or stage two tuning installed
