Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Welcome back to the RPM Power garage! After driving his 405whp Mini Paceman JCW test mule once again just a couple weeks ago (video link below), Lorenzo was certain it was crucial to pull back the curtain a bit more to show you some of the secrets behind his 600+ HP Mini builds. Enjoy.

Little bit of a different video for you guys today. It's tough sometimes to comprehend what it takes to build a 1.6L engine that makes 520whp, so today we're just going to nerd out with Lorenzo at RPM Power :D

Talking about how the factory crank is forged and has plenty of potential makes me feel bad that I turned my old N14 crank and flywheel into a side table for my living room 😂

very informative, thank you. Funny enough, yesterday I got the WMI kit for my car, and the main reason why I didn't get PI is the cost VS mileage. I'm doing about 2600mile/year on my summer car, and PI kit used is simply non-existing and new only few option @ 4-6x the price. WMI there's a ton of used item, and tons of new option (jb, snow, aem or even Bosphorus Innovations, probably the cheapest one). I totally agree this is way more maintenance, and probably less effective, but the risk I take on a old car, where most people want power for less money. Also you can do your own mix, I use a gallon of pure methanol (branded as heavy equipment defroster) for 7$ and radiator water for 3$ a gallon for a 50/50 mix of 2 gallon.

Thanks for explaining the methanol situation, i was thinking i would eventually have to go with it for my n18. Also the freeze plug is a scary thing 😳. Good information

RPM power & Lorenzo thanks a lot for all your hard work and your support to all the mini owners. I do have a 2011 cooper S and I have a couple of problems the smoke at idle and burning oil I do replace the oem oil cooler for an aftermarket with the remote repositioning cooler and I’m just cleaning up all the radiator and water supply from oil on the previous oil cooler failure what did you recommend to make it reliable and please if you have the parts please send me a message I’ll really appreciate thanks again.

That freeze plug thing you were talking about took out my N14... I was driving on the high way, suddenly a massive explosion. Black smoke behind me everywhere. The freeze plug came loose and caused the engine to lock up. Connecting rod snapped half way because piston locked up. Bye bye engine :o

This makes me miss my R53 so much. I’m curious about how you put all that power to the ground. I had pretty tame mods like exhaust, intake, & tune… I’d have to turn off traction control just to pull out into traffic or else it would kill the power and leave me hanging out there when the tires loose traction.
