Easy Hummus Recipe (Better than Store-Bought)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Homemade hummus is easy to make and tastes much better than anything you can buy at the store. You will need tahini, a paste made from sesame seeds. Buy it or make it yourself - we’ve linked to our recipe below. Recipe: www.inspiredtaste.net/15938/e...
The secret to the best hummus is the order in which you add ingredients to your food processor. Seriously, it’s that easy.

Do you add the roasted garlic powder to the hummus? Or sprinkle on top? I love garlic!

That hummus looks so smooth and delicious. I had done one before, but it was kind of dry. This one looks perfect. Thank you for sharing. I love chickpeas, and this is a wonderful and delicious way of using them. You've encouraged me to do them again. 😊

Okay this is definitely the best hummus I ever had. So glad I made this today. I am 25 and having a baby in April. I moved out and when I did, my grandma bought me a whole case of chick peas… didn’t know what to do with all of them so I looked for a good hummus recipe. Definitely will keep making this !!! I don’t even have a food processor and accomplished this with the blender. So smooth and fluffy 😩

The aquafaba that she mentions in the video is an excellent substitute for eggs in vegan cooking. If you are not going to use the liquid from the can, you can freeze it in a zip lock bag and use it in baking or added to soups and stews. Full of nutrients! I love Middle Eastern food and eat chickpeas a couple of times a week. Cooked with cumin, smoked paprika, garlic and onion (and other seasonings like dried lime and sumac, as desired) served over or cooked with rice is a nutrious and very quick meal. I bought a large used processor and found it's a bother to clean for making a small amount of food like this. I just shopped for a blender specifically to make hummus. I am glad to know it will work. Blessings on the baby! 😊

To be sure the tahini empties the measuring cup completely, squeeze the lemon juice into the cup to 1/4 line then add the tahini to the 1/2 line. Stir a little and then pour into the blender. Clean cup!

I watched a video on how to cut food costs without losing out on favorite foods. The example the woman gave was making hummus. You can make it much cheaper if you make your own tahini (which I haven't done yet) and cooking dried chickpeas instead of using canned. It will avoid the preservatives and other additives we don't need. Now I am shopping in bulk which I always did before. Bon aperitif!

What are grits exactly. Made from what and wonder if we would find it in Belgium. it looks almost like mashed potatoes, but not as smooth. Maybe when something is very common in the US maybe for those of us not living g there anymore an alternative might be useful. I spent ten years in the US and never ate Grits!

It’s good but we don’t put olive oil nor cumin to the mix. Instead we put paprika and olive oil on top at the end. Also a good tip instead of water use ice cubes it makes the hommos more smooth and the color lighter.

When it comes to recipes, I find using bottled lemon juice works best. Fresh lemons can end up being too sour, too sweet, or too bitter. No two lemons ever taste the same. With bottled juice, it will always taste the same.

I'm sorry that you feel your culture is appropriated and challenged in this multicultural fabric of the internet. As you used ALL CAPS I feel you are upset and shouting, so please consider the following so you understand they are not being personal against you and your culture. 1) on the internet we use ALL CAPITALS to shout. In the culture of the video creator this is considered aggressive and rude. You also wrote YOUR instead of YOU ARE or YOU'RE making us think you wrote it in a hurry without checking or proofing what you wrote. 2) they pronounce it correctly, you should watch the video before commenting 3) you are wrong about the huumus spelling being a type of soil. It is humus. 4) they spell it according to the accepted English spelling. People searching for this will search for hummus. Hoomos or huumus do not exist in the English language, which is the language you used to write here. 5) they call it according to the accepted custom in the English world. We don't use bin tahini. I like that you educated me about its proper name according to your culture but no need to shout. 6) I'm from Greece, we don't say bin tahini either. This is an amazing food and I'm grateful to your culture for exporting it available to the rest of the world. Now let us enjoy it with our neighbours with the kindness and respect it deserves.
