Love the channel and the energy you bring to your reviews! No matter what option you go with, it is amazing how expensive they are when you talk about building a full set. I have a 5-50lb set and the Pepin dumbbells to replace 50-120lbs. Just don’t have the space (or the money) to get 55-120lb dumbbells.

I have been using IronMaster adjustable dumbbells. They have the knurling, can be dropped, and they feel like a regular dumbbell. The balance is even close after I added the heavy kit, which are plates that screw on the inside of the ends. It makes the dumbbell handle shorter and more similar to a regular. Without the heavy kit plates, the handle is longer to accommodate the end caps that screw into the end to hold the plates.

I’ve had mine since 2013 and used them nearly every day. They are indestructible. Way better than any other adjustable DBs. Price has gone way up though. Think I paid $500 for the 75lb kit plus the storage rack and then another $200 to take them up to 120lbs. It costs more than that for the basic DBs alone now.

Hi NoFate247: Every different dumbbell sets have their pros and cons. My friends, and I have the Ivanko RM Dumbbells with the Steel 1.25 End Plates, purchased from Burbank Fitness in 1992. The M in RM is Machined. When we first decided to purchase a dumbbell set from 5-150 pounds, we looked at all of the different types. We had to make our fixed dumbbells by making the dumbbells with iron plates (2.5/5/7.5/10/12/15), and a dumbbell handle/bolts/steel end plates. Ivanko recommends using Locktite, and torquing the dumbbell bolts to 140 pounds. Sorry for the red color, not sure what happened.

I have the Fray Fitness ergonomic dumbbells (5-75lbs), and I ordered the gungnir dumblers with steel plates from WeightItOut to go from (80lbs-180lbs). Knowing what I uhh...know now, I probably wouldve gotten pro-style dumbbells instead of the ergonomic ones (of course, it was a purchase during the pandemic so its not like there were much choices), but Im very happy with what I got. And I got the dumblers because I wanted the option to get heavier weights without sacrificing space (and in the event that I do have to give up space, I can give up the fixed set knowing I had the dumblers).

Interesting video but not a fan of the Marxist fist on your tshirt. Its the same one from antifa, BLM and Marxist flags throughout history. 😮😂

Just curious - do you remember what rubber hex dumbbells cost pre-C.V.? Like per lb., or if varied by weight, cost of a 25 and/or 50 pair?

I think pre covid was like 1.00 per lb. Right before all the dumbbells went out of stock Walmart was just at 1.00 per lb. I picked up a few pairs right before the price went crazy. If your looking for dumbbells by used. I just picked up a pair of rubber 75s almost new for 160.00 now that gyms are open perfect time to low ball.

I got all 6 pairs of my Cap rubber hex head dumbbells used on ebay. They were pretty reasonable I thought. Plus, I like the fact they got delivered to my house. No Craigslist, dealing with weirdos! Who cares if they're used? I like saving $$. Ebay used!! Winner! Winner!

@@lots3799 I got 2 pairs of rubber hex dbs and 12 pairs of spin-lock dbs. My goal was to have enough so I don't need to change anything during a workout. I do home gym and go to a gym so I'm not going to do a full rack of hex dbs. I agree about used. I do keep an eye out for deals.

@@briand5047 I had a cheap ez curl bar years ago with spin lock collars. I didn't like it. The collars kept coming lose. I had to keep tightning them every 5 minutes. I sold it. I've got an old york bar with non threaded ends and use those plastic snap collars. They work great. My dumbells ,I like to have 6 pairs of different weight so I can pyramid or drop set , no collars to deal with.... But thats just me..
