Would y’all be willing to sell any of your otf or auto knives I’ve been in the market for one but I would rather buy one and support yalls KZread channel if you have one available if you could get back with me ASAP that would be great keep up the good work on the videos

My good friend turned me to Benchmade. He 1st purchased the Infidel and I really liked it, a few months later he picked up the Phaeton 4600-1 and I really really liked it. Liked it enough to go ahead and grab me a Phaeton 4600. Being my 1st Benchmade and OTF I wasn’t sure what to think. I noticed 1st it was very difficult to eject the blade. I had to do something because it didn’t feel right and I didn’t want to send back the knife I just got. I found a good disassembly vid and went to town. I cleaned and oiled and it made a night and day difference. The wife couldn’t eject the blade before but after I serviced the knife she could eject the blade no problem. Benchmade website says $380 for the 4600 but Knifecenter has them for $325. So far, I absolutely love the knife. Nice vid!

I used to have a full black Infidel that was fairly early production. I loved that knife. One of my fave OTF's. It fired really hard.

@@jasonc1899 There are many better uses for any knife than simply hurting someone with it..

For me, its natural to hold the button and to deploy/retract the button when it is on the side (Bench made phaeton) rather than the face (Infidel). Plus, when you hold the button on the side of the phaeton, the blade is ready to use because it is facing the right way. Unlike, the infidel where you have to turn it to the side to deploy and than turn it again to cut. Anyway, just my thoughts, both excellent OTFs.

I agree on the switch placement feeling better along the side, but I get the benefit of having it on the front since when you pull the knife out of your pocket (if it's using the clip) your thumb will be in the perfect position to quickly actuate the mechanism...then flip the knife and hold it correctly.

Hello. Could you tell if the bench made infidel mini switch blade is rust proof ? I like to go fishing. These are waterproof ?

Sadly the 3310 single edge has been discontinued for almost a decade. It also came in a better steel. You can still find them around though.

I have had my Phaeton for a few months now and I have put it through normal to heavy EDC use. I love it! It's 3oz and super thin. The first thing I noticed when I picked it up was how light it was. I'll give it to you though the blade to handle ratio is kinda gross and for fine work it's sometimes awkward to use. I'm hoping Benchmade will come out with a "mini" version of it like majority of their knives. It would probably be more comfortable for EDC use. I've had zero misfires or issues with it unlike my Microtech UTX85. Even though I did get my Phaeton for a discounted price I would rather spend the money on a Phaeton then a Microtech. Overall it has been my favorite EDC knife and as a fellow knife addict I haven't bought another knife since my Phaeton because it's just a fun and quality knife!

You have to get the full semi-auto magazine option. But they are easier to get than an STD.

It does look like a sword and feels similar to holding the pommel of a sword. I think it's the Contours of the grip and the face of the button. Good point Frankie good point

I was completely torn between the Infidel and Microtech’s Durac Delta for about 2 weeks and watched many of videos on each knife and I ended up going with the Microtech. I hope I didn’t choose wrong because I LOVE Benchmade and I’ve never owned a microtech knife so the Durac Delta will be my first. Anyways, I liked the video and now I want an Infidel lol

The Phaeton is just the discontinued Turmoil with s30v instead of D2. I've had multiple infidels over the years a few have been stolen but still one of my overall favorite knives, plus I find that I'm more comfortable hard using D2. I recently retired my infidel for the Turmoil and zt 0462 as my EDC knives.

I’m just not crazy about the look of the Benchmade OTF’s. I just snagged a carbon fiber UTX-85 with the bronzed blade and hardware and I think this is the best looking OTF I’ve ever seen.

I was always kinda confused with chisel grind sharpening. Wouldn't you just end up with a burr on the non-bevelled side?

basically yeah. In my (somewhat limited) chisel grind sharpening experience, you will not have a truly flat back side though, but something like a micro bevel on the non-ground side.

I like my Benchmade Precipice s30v. Had it for awhile no issues carry it alot

I see what you're talking about with the coffin handle dagger design. Check out Lugermonger's video about the fixed blade infidel. He talks about that design in that video and it's really interesting.

Just got the Benchmade Infidel the black one with the black coated blade. I love it so far. I will definitely get the satin blade infidel and the 2017 10 year anniversary infidel also. What do you think of the infidel? Do you like it?

I just received a Microtech UTX-85 single edge My first OTF knife and love it. If you had pick a cover firing slider knife (sliding button on the face of the handle), which one would you choose? The Microtech Dirac or Benchmade Mini-Infidel? The Microtech Dirac is comparable and as low as $82 less than the Benchmade Mini-Infidel depending on the model. Which one of really better in terms of performance, firing button, resale, etc.?

I like the Dirac, but I’m partial to microtech. We had a mini-infidel, but no longer have it, but still have the Dirac. (It’s also Felix’s favorite) -Frankie

Frankie, how about this...Microtech Dirac or Benchmade Phaeton? The Microtech Dirac is on my radar if I decide to go for a cover firing slider style knife with only blade choice D/E. If not, the Benchmade Phaeton in flat dark earth color with satin blade is very intriguing. Just something about this one. I like OTF and automatic knives in this size class. Thoughts?

the infidel and mini infidel are my go too for work (LEO) carry, right or left handed if I need to defend myself from a bad guy are the go to OTF

Frankie check out grant and gavin hawk deadlock otf knife. They have awesome design, color and absolutely zero blade play! Excellent excellent otf. Best on the market hands down!

Ok I’ve been wanting a otf for the longest and I’ve been thinking about a lightning otf. Is it a good buy? There much cheaper than other competitors but still enough money where it’d suck if I didn’t like it after I bought it.

Quick question, why does Benchmade charge so much for their D2? Why not use more premium steels. Like on my Osborne with D2 it was 240$, and these are around 300-400. I don’t get it. Anyways there is now an OD green Full size Infidel

Their whole otf line is stupidly priced if we are being real here. Granted for my $230 model 32 morpho with D2 I wish it was different steel. D2 for the price they charge on either infidel.. That's fuckin crazy 😔

Brandon Cornett good on you I still buy new benchmades if I really like them like the bug out or maybe if they actually are good value like the knife works 940 exclusive in 20cv but I agree with you

I've wanted one of those Infidel's for SO long too. Didn't realize that they had a chisel grind. I actually like that on a dagger style blade. I have two Ultratech's, but have two issues that cause me to not carry either: The damned glass breaker is unavoidable when reaching in your pocket, and it is extremely pointed. The other issue is that deployment button is a bitch to retract. I tried going to Revolver Tactical, but my security software flags their site as having a security issue. Might want to mention it to Brad? Thanks!

Agreed, the glass breaker on the new ones has the ball and is much nicer, not sharp. Brad mentioned having some sit problems, it will be back up soon. Thanks for watching!

I bought my Infidel for $204 new from Benchmade here in Oregon. I carried it for a couple weeks, and in my opinion it just isn't that practical. Pretty cool, though. I must say, I would trade it for a Microtech Dirac Delta in a heartbeat if I could.

I personally like the proprietary hardware it gives it a much cleaner look especially the newer hardware the newer ultratechs fire tons better than the older versions do for sure. My wife can actually fire my new 2021 ultratech with one hand haha ❤❤ I never cared that the hardware required special tools because I can 3d print the tool when needed but I have never had to open microtechs up and I will send my microtech in atleast once a year just to have it fully serviced and gone through. Doesn't hurt anything to do so, I have other knives to edc while it's in service.. and for pricing the ultratechs have been going up to about 300 on all the popular sites.. stupid covid is killing everyone's wallets for sure lol. Love the video guys/girl ❤❤ the wife keeps getting more and more interested in knives as I have your videos I been binging playing haha thank you both :)

Tullock Much more expensive. They are both U.S.A. made but the Microtechs have what most would call better materials. Just comes down to design preference I suppose.

All your stuff is cool! had an old style nick knife from kershaw, maybe less than inch and a half closed, from a Snap-On truck, from many, many, years ago. nice medallion on one side, almost like my first love, gave it nt respect I should have, was lost, soon after what folly, didn't stop my appreciation for things though, keep up your stuff, very much appreciated, R, C D., Was at my Mom and Dads 50th, you guys are there already! Frankie would like the Piranha Excalibur in purple. They have the button in the same place as the infidel.

I see absolutely no point in buying a chisel ground dagger. What real benefit could that blade possibly have over a regular drop point or a symmetrically ground dagger? I’m sure it probably comes in handy in some very niche use cases but for a carry knife, is that blade really what you want?

Excellent video! I have an infidel but I just can't find any valid uses for a dagger style blade. The sharpening would be difficult for me as well. I do believe I would rather work a trade for something more useful to me

I love the benchmade and microtech otfs but could never justify 300 dollars and up! Although I've purchased quite a few 100 dollar otfs. should have just got the one I wanted to start with! Lol

Generally everything Microtech is good. Just depends if the model itself suits you. I THINK we have a Cypher video out there but not positive

Im in arizona and everything is legal here lol. I’m only 13 and even assisted knives are legal for me to carry but i still stick with my trusty endura.

I have the LE 10th anniversary Infedel.. The handle is silver and steel upgraded to S30V.. Comes with challenge coin and special box. I paid $400.. They should still be around.. The blade is real thin.. I'd rather have 2 Protechs.. Not a MT fan...There is also an Infedel with an olive handle but I think In D2..I haven't had any problems but a lot of money.. I'd go with a Protech or even the Phaton over the Infedel...

i want a halo v. my once beautifully blue anodized handled on my microtech got the brakes beat off of it in my pocket full of keys and knick knacks. ive always wanted an infidel so if i could live my dreams through you that'd be cool bird haha. tim from the military arms channel has an infidel. its interesting that they seem to be smoother or sprung less heavy? than the ultratech. side note but i finally got a cold steel safe maker II and managed to cut the crap out of my thumb trying to get it out of the sheath. i KNEW it was gonna happen and i tried to keep my fingers away. i envisioned my thumb slipping and tried to proceed with caution yet still managed to split myself open. at least now, it has tasted blood...and i need to break in this damn sheath

Those Benchmades are Way overpriced for what they are, for that price I would expect Titanium and m390 at the very least. Great video guys!
