I bought my GN in 1989, It had 2300 miles when I got it. I have made a few mods and has gotten it to run low 11s at the drag strip. I do not drivve it very much but I refuse to sell it. I now take it to car shows. I started out in high school with a 1956 century and while I was in the military I got a 1964 wildcat, I bought a 1970 le sabre when I started working at my new job. 19years later after i wore out the 1970 I ran accrosse the GN. I remember paying what I thought was a huge price of 16K for the car. Now that seems like a bragain. I presently own the GN and a 1955 special. I would like to sell the 55 to a good home. It needs transmission work and maybe a hormonic balancer. I also have an engine and transmission for a 1984-1985 GN I would like to part with.

I just had this discussion with a friend. Pre electronic cars are easier to keep dead stock. I own both a 87 t top GN and a 92 GMC typhoon and after 30 and 40 years the electronics will have to be replaced and possibly have an aftermarket ecu control these vehicles. The grandnational has a TT chip. The typhoon is getting a full electronic wiring harness, upgraded distributor, and digital dash. Good luck to the collectable hellcats and other new cars being collectable. Cars like the GN have minimal electronics. Imagine in 30 years what will fail on a hellcat with dodges lack of quality control. It will be a nightmare.

Are the rear tires wider than the fronts? I like the stance.

Ah, the Corvette killer from 1987. Story goes Chevy told Buick to knock it off and the GN was history.

In 1988 buick went to front wheel drive. The transaxel could not hold up under the GN engine. So it was dropped. They did have a supercharged version but no where near the power.
