The way Mama Bridgerton is just quietly collecting all the son and daughter in laws she wants lol. I love that she just subtlety guides her kids in the right direction without being overbearing. She's great.

I love how he immediately apologized for even slightly rising his voice, he's always so polite and gentle with Violet.

I think of this scene as "Violet casually stirring the shit-pot like only a mother can."

Mother speak translated, Penelope is getting a proposal (you don't have much time) Thanks to your help (you made your bed, you can lie in it if you choose) I hope you feel better (don't mope around, go and get her)

HAHAHAHAHA.....Mama Bridgerton KNOWS her kids. She KNEW he meant Penelope, and just wanted her son happy. Mama saving the day AGAIN. I do hope she gets a happy ending as well. She's still got so many good years.

In my opinion, Collin's lessons may have helped penelope with her confidence in herself But lord Debling was attracted to Penelope when she was her true self, not a facade.

Lord Debling was never attracted to Penelope, he makes it clear he was only looking for a housekeeper on the outskirts of society with no prior connections so when he's away for years he can be content that she wouldn't have an affair while he's gone. Penelope had to pursue him, not the other way around.

@@mxmax2621 I mean, that is kind of true, but I think it's also a little harsh. Lord Debling does have genuine interest in Penelope, even if it's not the romantic sort. Maybe he doesn't want love, but I think it's clear he wants a marriage built on respect and friendship. Which, let's be honest, is a better foundation than mere physical attraction. Debling is practical, but he's not heartless, and he thinks highly of Penelope. Well... he _did_ think highly of her... it's possible his opinion has changed after realizing her feelings for Colin, but we don't know for sure. I hope we find out with part 2!

Men for whom marriage offered a companion, and in return the wife would do the duties of a wife without expecting abuse or much excitement since it was mostly a practical arrangement.

He only approaches her when she's either alone and only becomes interested when she admits she's an outsider pretending to fit in, every other time she had to pursue him. He was only looking for a lady on the outskirts of the ton to look after his estate so there was little to no chance she could cheat while he was away for years, and stopped pursing Penelope when it became clear there was someone else in the picture. I'll give him props for removing himself from the situation because he did not want to be cuckolded, but saying he was genuinely attracted or had a honest interest in Penelope is simply not true.

Momma’s advice towards Colin in this season, touched me so hard 😢 At the ball & this one. She knows after all. Momma Bridgerton def the best!

The actress who play her does an amazing job each season… her suttle facial expressions are the best… an amazing actress… it’s only 4 episodes so far but this season has by far been awesome… Nicola knocked it out the park showing us what is truly is like to be Penelope in a world that consistently puts her down especially her own family

idk if anyone else noticed but the episode before this where colin asks violet about love being the best foundation for friendship and she sees him look at penelope, the next part where he goes up to pen you can see violet in the background just watching them, did not take her eyes off once. GOD i love her and i love that she always knows how her kids are feeling. my favorite🩷

Mama knows best. 💗 Violet is a good mother. I also love the scene with her and Colin talking at the ball when he asks for her advice. She really loves her children & wants them to be happy.

I know that there are so many AMAZING scenes this season but this truly captured my heart , I can’t stop thinking about the advice she gives him

I love her words to Colin. She knows what is going on with him and speaks the truth. His armor truly came off around Penelope and hardly anyone else in his life after what happened with Marina and losing sense of purpose when returning home in season 2. Penelope reminded him of who he is and who he can be, not who he has to be in Society. Thanks for uploading.

Violet wants her children to have that same love that is thrilling, passionate, and exciting like what she had with Edmund. I admire her gentleness and the consideration she expresses with each of her children - along with a little push when it's needed. ;)

Have you watched the show? It wasn't even the kiss, it was the handcut. That is the moment he thinks about right before he crushed the ball. That was his awakening and it was way before Debling has shown any interest in Penelope.
