I love how after he says Pen teased him mercilessly and he thought he knew why and she turns her head quickly. The music goes along with it perfectly too. Such a cute scene!

Penelope is not only absolutely gorgeous but so smart and independent I can not wrap my head around the fact that she is called "wallflower" and "undesirable ".

I think its because of the scandals and bad reputation her family was in, Portia's bad fashion sense which made her undesirable in ton's eyes who judges every move of people. It was even mentioned that her looks are not the reason why she is undesirable, Penelope has very low self esteem and her family made sure she doesn't have even a bit of confidence in her. That made her awkward while conversing strangers too. She is very pretty, she would have gotten a good match for herself in the first year of her debut if her mother has paid more attention to build up her communication skills and put her in pretty colored dresses.

In the books, Violet was also considered a wallflower in her youth. Simply because she had not much in the way of a dowery and men found her outspoken. Penelope was kind of in the same boat.

@@AR-nt3cw yep, in that era marriages happened in high society for economic proposition as main priority. Men marry to get trophy wife whom they can show off in society and who would navigate their household, while getting fortune as dowry from her parents. And women wouldn't have to get homeless and penniless because they can't even inherit their parents property/titles and have no financial security. It doesn't matter how much pretty a woman is, men can always have paramours if they want pretty women, if their wife doesn't match their standards in terms of her value in society and good dowry, they are undesirable in the eyes of ton men.

His smile at the end i think he liked his flirting lessons to much he didn't realize by doing these lessons they were working but on him as the more time they spent together he found himself falling for her 😂 i so hope in series 3 part 2 they don't upset colin and penelope fans by making colin far to angry over penelopes secret and unable to forgive her so he ends thier romantic and the last scence of the series is a twist and penelope gets her happy ending by becoming best friends with Eloise again and together they wave colin off on his next adventure after colin and penelope agree to be just friends
