Bees In Slow Motion Working My Raspberry Patch

Nature Video.
Several slow motion clips of honey bees working in my raspberry patch. the clips were shot with my OnePlus 6 at 720p 480 frames per second and the music is a royalty free Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.
Honey Bees and Bumblebees are fascinating. And I'm pretty thankful for the work they do pollinating the plants and trees that produce my food.

It never gets old watching bees in action. Brings peace to my life. Looks like the Red Tailed Bumblebee.

Me too. I seem to have about 4-5 species visiting the patch (including some leaf cutter bees surprisingly) but the red tales are working in there all day every day.

Bees are essential to the world's environments! By the way, I miss the gear reviews!

Nice selection of background music. Was thinking you would choose "Flight of the Bumble Bee".

I thought about it and even loaded the music in my video editor, but the slomo just doesn't match. I shot the clips at 480 FPS so everything is 1/16th real speed. I thought about using a nocturn, but obviously the video is shot in the daylight... So, a sonata it had to be. I also considered Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu and using full speed video for the faster parts (mom used to play it pretty often, so it's sort of dear to me). In the speed of real life, this whole video is only about 22 seconds of footage. So, matching to a complex piece like Fantaisie-Impromptu to mixed speeds of video would have required much more video and a week or two of editing time.

This is a bit of a departure from your normal content. Is the change permenant?

Not a permanent change. I'm just getting my 'sea legs' back. I haven't produced a video for youtube in over a year and I've gotten rusty with my editing software plus the layout of youtube, creator studio, analytics etc has changed significantly. I'll probably do a few short (less than 10 minute) tutorial videos next and then when I'm comfortable with my cameras, software and the youtube layout again, I'll get back to gear I know a lot about. It's all sort of a long story, but suffice it to say I haven't been happy with how youtube is treating content creators. It might seem strange that just as they doubled down and got a whole lot worse, I decided to return. Nutshelling it all: Just as I saw coming the changes that led us to their current terrible behavior, now I see 1) Competition coming and 2) Regulation coming. These next few months are going to be bad for content creators, but there's finally light at the end of the tunnel.

@@betweenfiveandseven Thanks for the explanation. I have noticed your absence and I'm glad you want to make more videos. I like your thoughtful insight when you do a review. It's a refreshing change from the creators that get free stuff and know that if they want more free stuff they better say nice things. Maybe do some simple topics at first like how to change the blade on a silky folding saw or a knife sharpening video.

Driving up to the office today, I had a pretty strong inspiration for the next video. I have two possible routes to the office from home and one of them is past a "Red Barn Farm" . The weather today and the condition of the creek that runs through that farm reminded me of a serious incident that occurred about 30 years ago and a simple skill that helped save the day. Be on the lookout for the next video and I'll tell the story!
