Beer, Amateur Wrestling, and a Oaxacan Feast: Chef's Night Out with Lodge Bread

Ойын-сауық

In this episode of Chef's Night Out, Or Amsalam and Alexander Phaneuf of Lodge Bread in Culver City, Los Angeles gather up their friends for a night out at some of their favorite South Bay spots.
The night starts off with a Oaxacan feast at El Jacalito Oaxaqueño for mole negro and enchiladas. They then head to Three Weavers Brewery in Inglewood for lots of beers. Next up is Hatchet Hall, where their friend, chef Brian Dunsmoor, decides to "ruin them with food." Oysters, duck, asparagus, game hen, salmon pancakes, every salad and crudo on the menu: you name it, they had it. After the meal, they walk next door to Hatchet Hall's Old Man Bar to party like not-so-old men, for more beers, whiskey shots, and amateur wrestling. They may not totally remember heading back to Lodge Bread to make shakshuka, hummus, tabouleh, and pita, but they remember having a good time.

I really don't understand the general negativity towards chefs and cooks who want to use or create products that are natural, tasty and ACTUALLY GOOD FOR YOU.

Lol the haters. I live near Lodge Bread. I walk here with my babe when I'm exhausted and want a treat. The employees are always super kind. They usually say hi to my baby and are I never feel judged for looking like a frazzled mom, which I don't find typical of other "hipster" establishments. Although they were acting crazy and drunk for the cameras these are really great people. This is how bread should be made. It's the only bread I can eat that won't mess up my digestion. If you don't like it go eat some Tito's Tacos.

People just need to chill. They can cook, they are successful, they apparently are not terrible people. I don't most (not all) of the people commenting have half the skill or business experience as them. I get it if the guys commentating are trained chefs but otherwise.
