It's amazing how Barry could do it the same all those years. The Bee Gees are the greatest and I only wish they were all still here.

I love this song, all versions. I remember every one of them. I started following the BeeGees in the 60’s. I’m 77 and don’t let a day pass without listening to some BeeGees.

So wonderful to hear all 4 versions consecutively. It's easier to hear how little Barry Gibb's voice changes throughout the years. You could splice them all together and it would be an even stronger experience albeit the same. Such control and knowledge of his own voice. Just phenomenal.

In 1971 I miraculously scored front row center seats to see The Bee Gees at the Arie Crown Theater in Chicago where I would eventually take the stage to graduate in high school. I'll never forget that it seemed like Barry was looking right at me when he sang this song. A teenage moment I will never forget.

barry deducated this song to his wife Linda, and sang it on stage to her, 10 years ago. Its so heart warming!

I watched that 1968 Ed Sullivan show. I had heard their songs on the radio, but this was the first time I saw the Bee Gees. I fell in love, as only an 11 year old could. There is youthful exuberance in this wonderful signature song. When the 1974 Melbourne concert rolled around, they had all lived some high peaks and valleys. I feel Barry's voice starting to grow a bit. He used more dynamic changes, and it had a rounder sound. The set list for the 1989 tour was so good. Barry's low register and power (not withstanding his giggle LOL) draw me to that performance. That whole concert was just superb. By 1997, you think you know what to expect, but they throw in some brotherly harmony. Makes the signature song even better. If you have never heard the version they did live in LA in 1976, it is one of my favorites. There isn't video, but it's on "Here at Last Live." It has a country feel with Alan playing steel. My heart melts the second I hear Mo's voice introduce Barry.

He actually does finish the song in the last version. This was the One Night Only, Las Vegas performance. Oh how I wish I had been there! Chad, this made me very emotional for some reason. I liked his 3rd and 4th performance best of all. I didn't expect to get weepy, but I did. 💕

My favourite alternative version is the One Night Only version of Morning of My Life. It's gorgeous.

If you do "To Love Somebody" or "I can't see nobody" that go way back to the 1st album, you will find many versions of each song. I love them both and remember well when they both were first hits and on the charts!

The 1979 Spirits version was done differently in a slower, bluesy-gospel style which is probably the most powerful and emotive, but the 1997 version is on my playlist of my favorite songs of all time. Many of their early hits (maybe all from '67 to '70) were actually done better live.

"WORDS" , I was hooked on this song when heard it for the first time. Super wording!❤ Just love it especiallly when Barry allows the audience also to sing along on a little piece. This always makes the song Much more Special ❤❤❤ THANKS BARRY ❤

Wonderful concept for a reaction video, Chad. It's really amazing to see how such an iconic song such as Barry's signature "Words" progressed through the decades and the subtle changes that were made each and every time it was performed. It definitely amazed me the first time that I watched the 1997 Las Vegas concert to see Robin and Mo join him. Please do this for other songs, Chad. If you need any suggestions I'll email you in the future with some of my own.

By the way the final clip from Las Vegas, Barry does continue singing words after the pause, for some reason the version on KZread seems to cut it out. I have the dvd and have watched it dozens of times.

The 1979 version is just mesmerizing. You look at Barry at that point in his career and he was Sinatra, Elvis and The Beatles all rolled up into one man.

This was an unexpected treat - you reacting to four different live performances of this absolutely beautiful song! I’ve seen all of these performances before. I think it’s so cool to see/hear how each one is different, especially with them all being done years apart from each other! I think all of those performances were absolutely amazing! I have to note that the first performance was from the same year the song was released, which is why it sounded so much like the recorded version. I love how Barry handled the crowd at the end of the third performance! I think it’s so sweet, adorable, and funny. And, I completely forgot that the twins joined Barry in the last performance of the song because I’ve barely ever listened to that version before and I don’t, even, remember the last time I listened to it. Only, hearing it now, I have no idea why that is. Because it’s even more beautiful with the addition of the twins’ harmonies! I’m definitely going to have to start listening to it more often.

I love how the sound of Barry’s voice and how he sings it, from his chest to whispery soft, with his signature vibrato, stays the same throughout the years, but also how it matures, gets stronger, fuller. Yet he can go right back to sweet and whispery soft again. His voice can change so much within a song. What I found even more interesting was how he, as a person, changed over the years. From softspoken, almost shy-seeming, perfect, to a little older and self-assured, to really engaged with the crowd, a practiced showman, really comfortable on stage and with himself, to someone who’s been knocked around a few times, has more wisdom, but is his usual kind self. I love all iterations of Barry and this song. I just love him, whatever period of life he’s in. But I’ll never get over the iconic, fresh-faced, just-getting-started-in-life, Prince Charming version.

Todos tuvieron golpes, es más, creo que Barry es el menos golpeado, fue el preferido de padres y managers por sex symbol también. Y su buena y plena vida personal tiene un nombre : LINDA. por éso el podía alejarse de sus hermanos y volver a un nido cuidado y mantenido con pasión, siempre acompañándolo y cuidándolo, esa bellísima mujer... Cuando MAURICE murió, ROBIN se sintió demasiado solo. Él lo rechazaba, tenía otro apoyo. Los TWINS también se superaron con el tiempo, ninguno fué para atrás, al contrario. Y juntos se rearmaban. ROBIN cantó hasta cuando ya no podía ni cantar de tan enfermo que estaba..y escribe "Sidney"...una canción fortísima, demasiado emotiva.

I absolutely love the way you did this Chad❣️🙏🏻 I have always wanted you to do this ,with “Words”. I especially love how Barry interacts with the crowd , on this song while live. I would love and appreciate if you would do the same with “Spicks and Specks”, including some of the big performances where he interacts with the audience, while singing . The women flirting, and screaming out to him at the end ,is my favorite part of the performance. His reaction is so cute; with his reaction ,and response. (I think Mo chimed in one time.) Hopefully someone in the comments feels the same, and knows the performances he does this. They have escaped my memory. I appreciate all your hard work; and appreciate you bringing the awareness to our younger generations. The Brilliance of The Bee Gees!! Always been my favorite artists. Yes I grew up to the BG's, my best year were the 70's ! Is there anyone else out there who was born in the 60's, but really grew up with the 70's 🎶? Ok heres the list you asked for. 1. Inside & Out, 2. How Deep is Your Love, 3. Too Much Heaven, 4. Fanny Be Tender with my Love.....this last one is by far the best. I don't know why, I just know from listening to other top BG's fans Fanny Be Tender is a favorite. There has never been, nor will there ever be a group 🎶 that even comes close to what they were. They had something that ive never heard from anyone else. They were humble. They were gentlemen. They had talent that wasn't found anywhere else. They loved their families. Great and innovative video, Chad! Words has been my favorite Bee Gees song for decades - it has a beautiful simplicity which is unique. As I get older and hear more Bee Gees songs, other songs like Too Much Heaven and You Win Again try to steal the "favorite" title but this one is still close to my heart always. Words makes me feel like crying every time. Does love like the one described really exist in this world?

To give some out there a touch of reality... I was born the same year as Robin and Maurice. Barry was 2 years older. These clips of WORDS are 1968, I was/ they were 19 and 21 years. 1974, 25 and 27 years. 1989, 40 and 42 years. 1997, 48 and 50 years old. And still going strong through all that!
