I want to say I'm so happy for you to find these amazing guys. I wish I could live those decades again and again. I personally kept my distance from people that didn't like the BeeGees because clearly something was wrong with them. I've been watching reaction videos mostly to Too Much Heaven and it's heart warming to see young people crying and loving them and being blown away and then I look at their Playlist and they might have 3 BeeGees songs on it within a year. I'm not made that way and clearly you aren't either. I would dive right in and listen to all of their music if I had just heard them for the first time and I was moved like that song moves everyone. I appreciate you loving them so much that you're pulled in for life. I'm just sorry you didn't hear them ten years ago. I'm 60 and we didn't have videos or even MTV. We only saw them when there was a TV special or in concert. Otherwise it was stereo, radio and magazines. I love these videos so much.

Glad I found you...I love the BGees...but Mo... Maurice is just so very very special to me. I remember exactly where I was when the news came of his passing 😭😞... When beautiful people die, it just hurts forever.. Thanks for your deep interest in our Mo.

Maurice's voice was the perfect balance between Barry and Robin's voices, he really was the man in the middle!

Maurice has always been explained as the “glue” that held all 3 voices together as a group! When Robin and Barry sang together it was Barry and Robin but it was when Maurice that made them a group!

The lyric "I know I let you down in so many ways, I know that sorry doesn't tell you, What you need me to say, But, I would die for you baby" was a definite message to his wife Yvonne after years of being an alcoholic. So powerful.

Our beautiful Mo . He was very special and talented. Gone too soon but we still love him and miss him. I admire the way he got help for his alcohol addiction. Came back stronger than ever. No Bee gee harmony without Mo. You can tell how much his brothers adored him.

My heart goes out to his wife and kids…finally had a clean and sober husband and father….should have lived a long long life and enjoy grandchildren..he had the best smile. Your right Chad. RIP Maurice..

He was just really starting to shine when we lost him. :( I really enjoy "Lay it on Me" too. His voice doesn't shine as much on that performance because of the delivery but his personality does.

Don't feel bad Chad, I did not truly discover these incredible gorgeous boys/men until the pandemic and I'm 75, Barry's age. I was more into Neil Diamond and some others and like so many people, just assumed they were a disco era thing. Boy was I ever wrong, I have truly truly come to appreciate and be amazed at their talent as songwriters, singers, musicians, showmen. I love them all, including Andy and I only wish I had found them years ago and been able to attend a concert. I LOVE watching you find them and appreciate them at your young age.

I watched him on an interview show with Lynn Redgrave where he talked about going to rehab for 30 days and then going directly to another rehab in California for another 60 days and that he had taken his guitar with him and wrote several songs while he was there. I think this is one of those rehab songs. He was very honest with her about his alcoholism and what it took for him to sober up and stay sober. He was so honest that it made me love him more.

Mo deserved more a lot more, bless that beautiful man n his talent

Mo only got sexier the older he got - and not only did he have a great voice, he was beyond talented as far as playing a variety of instruments... "The Bridge" with Maurice Gibb (featuring his children Adam and Samantha Gibb...) is a MUST LISTEN... (You may have lost Your job - however, EVERY "job" is important, so don't ever believe that You've "downgraded"...) Every "Bee Gee" had an important function to fill - and that's because TOGETHER they created Pure Magic for close to 50 years... 💖💖💖

When he sings with Lulu( First of May ) “the apples falling one by one for you and me”

They explained in an interview that Maurice wrote this song and he was trying to find a way to have Barry and Robin share on the lead. Barry told Mo that it was his song and so he should go ahead and do the lead!!

I love this song so much. Gotta admit I have a huge man crush on Mo. He was truly remarkable! RIP Mo

Awesome! Great! Thanks so much ! They say he knew how to play over a dozen instruments, but only played some of them in public, and the rest for family only. Well, MO got past his addiction. And helped his brothers.

I can understand what he's singing about.Maurice had to get between Barry and Robin's disputes .Maurice struggled with alcholism,because of his addiction Mo felt he had let his brothers down and his family also.Barry said there were times when he and Robin didn't know if Mo would show up for work and even their concerts.He had to go into treatment multiple times.When he got it together is when you see him stepping out in the group more.It is amazing how they can take those sad lyrics from their experiences and set them to such uplifting music. Bee Gees are such a blessing to us all.

beesee Will - In an interview with Larry King they said Maurice even fell asleep on stage. When King asked what they would do Robin said "Put a blanket on him".

@@susieq9801 We can talk a lot about Maurice's addiction and how he was etc, etc. But i prefer to talk about his strength and brutal honesty about himself. He didn't want to cover it up or masking his shortcomings and other defects of his character. Do not forget that thier father was also an alcohol lover. All brothers one way or another were involved in substances. And youngest siblings more susceptible to it. It is very hard to have a new start if it's in your genes. You remember what happened to Andy? God bless Maurice he decided to do recovery. It takes a lot of character and help of others. Thanks to all of his real friends and family for support!!! He was a sweetest guy in whole wide World and helped a lot of people. It shows again his love to others and ability to get up and continue his walk. I mesmerized by his strength and multiple talents. By the way i did not like to much Barry's jokes before the song. The same thing when he was singing "Lay it on me" in younger ages :" ..now we will sing the song, hopefully you'll like it- Maurice does" and laughed. I don't think it could help person with low self-esteem ( Maurice was talking about it in interview about his recovery) but may be it was his way to address the problem throughout the song? I never was thinking he is a looser. Life is not easy and he walked it out Gloriously. It's our Maurice. Great respect and love to him!

@@irinaarcher325 - I would never make fun of Mo's addiction. It was more than admirable not only how he overcame it and got his life in order but also how he encouraged others both in word and by example to do the same. I simply thought Robin's comment was funny and a way of covering up for his brother and diverting and defusing the situation with humor. It was obvious he loved his twin. I think their father was far from a good example and not supportive of his boys emotionally. He pushed Andy too soon and didn't learn from what his older brothers endured. Of course Andy wanted to be like his brothers but it was an immense burden to try to live up to their accomplishments and he was under immense public scrutiny to do so. I never considered Mo a loser. I honestly have never been terribly fond of Barry or of the way he treated his brothers. I think both Mo and Robin were far more charismatic and interesting personalities and both at least equally talented. I don't think Barry ever did give the respect the twins were due and never treated them as equals to this day.

@@susieq9801 yes, agree with you about your view on Robin and Maurice. It was amazing to me no matter what Maurice always was so sweet guy taking adequately all jokes on himself. Never angry, wicked but always funny and supportive person. I think Robin lost a sense of security with Maurice's death. Maurice always did something that's made situation better for everyone. Barry is very talented person but i don't think he has a lot of empathy for Robin after Maurice passed away.

This is from the Live By Request concert in April 2001 in New York City. How can I be sure of this? I was there. No, seriously I was so you can be jealous of me too. The song was on their newest album and not yet written in 1997.

@@jessiemyrle4907 I was lucky enough to see them live several times, some of which were smaller venues. They were fabulous always fabulous live! Sometimes better than the recordings.

This song was done in 2001. From the album This is were I came in. It wasn't in Las Vegas. That video was done in NY. The show was live by request. Try the song When he's gone. Thank you again.

They are my favs... saw them in 1975, they were better in person, best ever... love love love them! Love their early stuff before disco... my teenage years! Having said that I have never heard a bad Bee Gees song, and I have heard all of them.

Forgotten to say, his voice is very good, but you also can hear the reason, why Barry and Robin did most of their leadvocals, having uniquer voices. Against their abilities, Mo sounds sort of normal. But he always was the one, that drove them to perfect chorusses with three-part-harmony.

The days during Mo's alcoholism, both Barry and Robin have said in interviews that there were times that Mo was out cold on the floor right before a concert. He wasn't reliable to be a lead singer.

Loved this reaction. You really get the Bee Gees journey. I think you would really enjoy Bee Gees medley 1963! See them as kids performing in Australia. So cute and you can see the start of their crazy talent!

I grew up listening to these guys among others and have always been in awe of their talent and harmonies. I don't know if anyone else has noticed that the brothers have passed youngest first and Barry being the eldest of the boys and his elder sister Lesley are the only surviving siblings.

Tomorrow will be the 19th anniversary of Mo’s death. Lost in the prime of his life. Loved him and his personality. Oh to have been at that concert! Wow!!!!

You rock! LOVE your passion for these guys, we feel the same feels. In addition to his singing voice, Maurice's smile and speaking voice was beautiful. It's sometimes unbearable that they left us. They would be having their moment again and selling out arenas if not stadiums. If you read or watch some anecdotes on Maurice he was so much fun, he always found local police costumes to dress up in while on the road and was super into paintballing, opening up a place in Miami called Commander Mo's Paintball Shop.

I have said the same thing If Robin and Mo were still alive they would still have at least a couple of albums out at this point and touring (I would have deffinately gone to see them) but sadly both Robin and Mo are gone and well i don't blame barry for not continuing with out them

Chad, thank you for your insightful words about My Precious Mo: He was the brilliance behind creating, arranging, & producing momentous sound tracks, & if there had not been the silent strength of Mo with all the friction & the spark between the boys as band mates & in brotherhood, there would be no Bee Gees! It takes a certain kind of Brother to stand toward the back of the stage so that the other two get more light, that was Maurice Ernest Gibb; the all-important, yet forgotten, third voice in the Bee Gees blend of vocal harmony genius. He was the one with the perfect high to low harmonization pitch, second harmony, no doubt, which is the hardest note to find, with the deepest, richest, R&B soulful, seductive, & smoothest voice register a trio of this caliber & this world will ever find. Not to forget he was the band manager & highly underrated multi talented instrumentalist; self taught, no less. The third undervalued Bee Gee; Maurice E. Gibb! I am bias of course; Aside from that, Mo was a genuine giving loving soul. He became my big brother & shoulder to cry on when My Darling Andy past away. Mo was an ordinary guy that never allowed fame or money to change his big heart. He always thought of others first before himself; & he contributed financially to people he didn't even know that were down & out in life & needing a hand up. Mo was a survivor of this world & whatever craziness life threw out at him; he showed strength multiple times over, to reinvent & recover, until the day The Lord decided to take him home. He had an outstanding way of convincing & making known how to live in the "now" moment & not fret tomorrow or the unknown. He'd say: it's about freedom to choose & enjoy what God had given. Now "Man in the Middle" was not a reference to his position as a Bee Gee; nor was it {necessarily} regarding his bout with alcohol & his recovery; It was about being centered in life, & struggling to get there. He said he made it more "relational" to keep people wondering. It was only after My Darling Andy past away in 1988, that everything was forged upon them all to take stock of themselves individually. This was the turning point of decision where Mo, after trying to dumb himself down with the loss & grief, finally listened, & realized he needed structured help.
