    Hi, I had big problems with my Cobra Max and was about to call for assistance but then I saw your video!!! Thank you very much!! I had moved the printer for some work and probably moved the two oblique fittings... the plate was not level. Now everything seems ok and the first two prints went great!!!

    I never respond to most things. I just sit and read from the shadows. But the leveling advice from your first video was SPOT ON!!! My Kobra Max was grinding into the print bed on the left, leaving some filament around the middle, and then dropping the filament on the right side of the printer. With your advice I undid the screws and belt from the right side z-axis screw, lowered it (did this a few times slowly) until bother sides were fairly even. I created a 30x30cm square and spliced it on a raft. The first layer of the raft basically covered the entire print bed (with some bald spots on the print bed due to warping). At this point I ran auto-leveling. Then tried the rafted square again. BEST PRINT EVER! YOU DA MAN!!! Many, many thanks. Now back to the shadows...

    For me this method didn’t work however removing the bed and adding/removing washers to those 6 screws does. My bed was 1mm higher at the back and fortunately the existing washers were 1mm thick. Removed the front two and voila now perfectly level.

    Good morning/afternoon. Firstly, I want to thank you very much for having such detailed explanations for this printer specifically. The Kobra Max is my first printer, and I've recently replaced the entire hot end after I didn't correctly replace a nozzle on the first one, which led to a completely destroyed heat block. Now my nozzle scrapes my build plate, and although I have only slightly played with the z offset, I can not shake the feeling that I shouldn't have to with the auto level. Am I just wrong, and I should manually adjust the z axis like you demonstrated in your first video and this one or would you recommend another course of action? Again thank you for your time and effort both of these videos give me a renewed sense of hope that I can fix my problem because I also love this printer it's exactly what I wanted and needed to start this hobby I just need to learn how to best maintain and care for it.

    I have the kobra Plus and when I perform the auto bed leveling the printer head pushes the bed down about 1mm on the corners. When I print something close to the corners, the nozzle hits the bed. What can I do to fix this?

    Thanks for the video! :) I have a small question... for some reason i can't get the stringing to stop when i'm printing on my kobra max? I've played around with retraction, speed, levelling and extruded 100mm and yet i'm still getting the problem. I'm using PLA, and pretty much all default settings on Cura software.

    Try raising the temperature. If I remember correctly, one of the default settings is like 195° I might be wrong about that. But try it on a temperature like 200 maybe 205 and see if that does anything. Also, how old is the nozzle?

  • @KurtisJoseph
    @KurtisJoseph8 ай бұрын

    I am getting lines that smash down on the rear left. As it sweeps toward the front it lays down well, and then moves to front right the nozzle raises WAAAAY up off the bed. Which way should I adjust from? The belt up top or this? I just want to get the beds both level right so I can stock back up on filament and print some Cosplay master pieces ya know? Gotta make molds for a muscle suit.

    That sounds to me like somehow the alignment is racked. So what I mean by that is the two arms on either side of the machine that stabilize the Z axis. I think those may need to be adjusted. There’s another video on my channel about adjusting those you might want to check out because it seems like your issue lies there at least if I’m understanding what you’re saying

    If you’re trying to find the parts and they’re not on the website, go through customer support on the website. They are extremely responsive and very helpful. If they don’t have them in stock and can replace them, they’re sure to know where you can pick some up. But I don’t know of a vendor that carries them, myself. Sorry, but that’s about the best I can do for this issue.

    My Kobra max is loosing Z height during the first layer or 2. It will print a perfect skirt and wall then when it's filling in the large flat bottom layer it will all of a sudden drop it's Z height and ruin the print. The hot end will eventually end up scraping right on the bed and clogging up the filament. Everything it tight as far as the hardware and I updated the firmware and also tried different slicers. Any ideas I could try? I've been struggling with this for weeks. 😢

    If I'm understanding this correctly, the support arms will push the frame forward/backwards? Because i have an issue where its printing fine everywhere else but catching one corner with the nozzle

  • @PrimalEdge

    @PrimalEdge

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes, basically. When the support arms lean forward or backwards, they misaligned all the way down straight through to the nozzle. And that can cause some weird behaviors when it comes to trying to level the bed or get that first few print layers to come out great. And if that’s racked meaning one side of the arm is forwarding the other side is back it just adds to the complexity you want to make sure everything is square a line and all the bolts are tight.

    This might sound crazy, but it sounds like you’re at a point where crazy might be worth a shot. Preheat the nozzle and after it’s preheated use the ranch and see if it’s all the way tight. Don’t over tighten it and go crazy like the Lugnuts on a car, just go in and make sure it’s not loose. It should be snug.

  • @PrimalEdge

    @PrimalEdge

    5 ай бұрын

    Yes, and no. It’s kind of like a balancing act. If you’ve ever seen anyone try to level a pool table or something like that you have to do it one section at a time and it’s kind of a process. So yes, in an attempt to fix one area you might then offset another area, but if you minimize your fixes and do a little bit here in a little bit there, you can level it out overall I had my problem in the front right corner, which is I think opposite of what you’re saying in the far left corner. One of the problems I ran into when I was trying to solve this. The first time was overcompensating. And I kept thinking every time I do one thing I’m making something else worse. So just take it step at a time and if you’re using test prints, they can be your best friend! There’s a few different types that you can use that I know or in Cura I can’t remember exactly the name, but if you look in the Keira menu, you’ll find different types of test prints you can do and there’s one that has I believe nine squares, and then a perimeter around the whole thing. That’s a great one to figure out where your deviations are at. I know it’s frustrating, but if you take the time to dial it in, you will absolutely be happy with this machine. I am. I’ve got two now.

    Just bought a Kobra Max, during the first auto-leveling, the x-axis errored out and I"m stuck right there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've checked every connection, even on MB.Y and Z work with the computer screen, and Y will home. But X will not work manually on the screen and Z will cause the error if I try to home it. I've check my belts, rollers, plugs, wires. Thanks.

    When you say you’ve checked the belt, are you saying that you just checked it to make sure it was connected or did you check to make sure the tension was correct. I remember when I first got it it took me a little while to get the tension right on the belt because I couldn’t get it to home. There are two handles in the front of the machine one on the left side, one on the right side, and as you turn them, they loosen or tighten the respective belts. I know that everything can be attached probably would’ve attention isn’t right it won’t work properly.

    Hey there! Could really use help with issues I’m having with my new kobra max, from out of the box I’ve had terrible z banding I’ve followed your videos as well as I calibrated the e steps, PID updated firmware and all still to no avail

  • @PrimalEdge

    @PrimalEdge

    Жыл бұрын

    One thing that I did when I first got, my printer was go through every single solitary bolt on the machine and make sure it was tight, especially the Grubb screws on the pulleys as little tiny screws that you don’t really readily see but the beds go around them. Check every bowl to make sure everything is tight and snug and secure. After you’ve done that then go through and do another auto leveling and then do some test prince and see if that solves the issue. Z banding is really tough to fix. So I would start simple before I would get complicated.

  • @PrimalEdge

    @PrimalEdge

    Also, check the nozzle! That can absolutely cause it too. I’ve heard that happened on a couple of viewers, who have been commenting on these threads. Just be sure when you check the nozzle you do it when is a hot and is hot.

    Please I am in dire need of help. I bought my first Anycubic Kobra 2 Max during the presale and it became my favorite printer. After a month I started getting an error of bedplate not heating. As I updated the firmware, it then became Hotbed NTC issue and pretty much killed my printer. I had to take about the bottom to reattach the bed plate power cable which gave me one print. It no longer works because of this issue. I bought another Kobra since it was a great printer but not even a month after producing perfect prints, it now has massive shifting and nothing comes out of it correctly.

  • @PrimalEdge

    @PrimalEdge

    4 ай бұрын

    By massive shifting, are you saying it shifts in the middle of a print? If that’s the case, that sounds like it’s most likely a belt tensioning situation if it shifts from front to back make sure the two belts are tense not so tense like a guitar string that’s gonna snap, but make sure it’s pretty tight and make sure they feel app Appropriate to one another so the left side is just as tense as the right side. Lastly, if it’s a left or right issue, check the belt tensioning along the gimbal.

    This printer is a huge waste of money. I will never buy anything from anycubic again except resin. Resin and not resin printer. They dragged me through the entire warranty period, when the warranty ended they simply told me it was out of warranty. I didn't get a single good impression on the kobra max, I'm waiting for a skr board and parts to arrive so I can remove everything and just use the structure. I want to distance myself from this brand and this printer.
