This time we visited BOULANGERIE ANCIENNE in Niigata City. This bakery has a reputation for being both pleasing to the eye and delicious to eat, with an array of beautiful breads filling the store. and effort is put in, are especially beautiful and eye-catching in the store. Baking bread is hard work, but it was fascinating to see how carefully and skillfully the beautiful breads were made.

What a wonderful thing to watch them create and bake these wonderful baked goods.
The bakers have such a vivid imagination and execute those thoughts into works of art. I've never seen such beauty in food products.

Mankind is special. The other animals do not eat like this! Great job, folks! These people take real pride in their work. Daily, ordinary folks get to enjoy beauty and deliciousness like kings and queens.
They weigh the croissant before and after to know they filled it up with the same amount of filling as the rest! Amazingly thorough! I'm still amazed at the weave design one! So much work but it's gorgeous!!! I'm drooling, I hope to eat from there someday.

This level of production would be fully automated and HIGHLY processed in America (where I live). I'm a pastry chef here, and, I am overwhelmed and undone with your process and excecution. I love it too much.

I am in awe of this exquisite craftsmanship of such decadent bread and pastries. They don't skimp on the fillings and it's wonderfully decorated. I commend on these workers and their skills! Looks yummy and drooling delicious . I've enjoyed watching this video.

目の保養にはなるけど、食べたいかって言われたら‥。 多分、パンは芸術品ではなく食べ物なんだという基本を忘れたのが、閉店の原因じゃないのかな。

職人さんの愛情と技術が詰まった贅沢なパンは美味しいに決まってるよね。地元にある小さなパン屋さんの裏側もきっとこんな感じなんだろうな。そういうお店を大事にしたいと思った。このお店はちょっと遠くて行けないので。と思ってたらコメント見たらなんとこのお店は閉店してしまったそうで･･･残念です。

Looking at the prices at the end I can say compared to SF bakery prices they are a bargain! At 400 yen, that converts to $2.75US. Good luck finding any of those for less than double that here...Props for the hard work they do day after day!
